Hate list question

Situation: Doing the CoP Louverance BC with 4 moblins and a bugbear. Initial strat is to have a pld get hate on the moblins and invincible while other party members go all out killing them.

Question: Does the pld have to perform offensive actions on all 4 mobs before using Invincible, in order to be on the hate list for all 4, or will curing himself after aggroing them be enough?

Another quick question I just thought of: Would it be effective for the pld to use Sentinel before Invinvible to enhance the enmity generated by it?

Yes, he has to directly perform an action on them. Alternatively you can have someone else -ga them or hit them all and then have the PLD cure that person to get hate on all of them.

As for Sentinel + Invincible:

It'll probably enhance it, I'm not sure, but it's a waste of a JA. Invincible is a ton of hate anyway, but it's all volatile if I remember correctly. Therefore, it'll probably pull hate, but it won't guarantee that you're going to keep it, so it's better to pop Invincible and wait a bit before using up your Sentinel. Plus, you'll gain more survivability this way.

Supertanking works against them, just don't do a single offensive action on the mobs though once you gotten initial aggro and its a walk in the park.

Yeah or leave pet/let pet die, let wyvern die/desummon, deactive puppet/let puppet die etc . . . this create hate on all the mobs and you get raped.

Oh, I see. Yeah, that strat works for this BC, definitely, but like others are saying, you have to make sure no one uses any AoEs, casts anything on them, or rests near them. If you're going with inexperienced players it might not be a good idea.

No, we are not doing supertank strat, but I can see how my OP would be misleading.

The plan was to have the pld get on the hate list for each mob, then Invincible, allowing the Blm to -ga without getting destroyed. The Sam and RNG also 2hr at this point, doing as much damage as possible to kill the moblins as fast as possible.

We finished it a little bit ago, and it worked perfectly. The pld aggroed all 5 mobs, rdm/nin took bugbear to kite at entrance, pld used flash/voke/holy/attack to get on moblins' hate lists. Invincible went off, took 1-1.5 min to kill all 4, then brought bugbear back and burned him in about a minute. Spent more time buffing tha n fighting.
