Been spamming the signup page since then, doesn't look like they're taking anyone else now. I definitely know I made it through the sign-up process and got the "wait for confirmation email" screen though. Oh well.

Got through again and tried to sign up and got this message:

Means my request definitely went through previously, but the email is stuck somewhere in limbo.

What is the hype with this site? I've never had any problems getting isos/roms as they're leaked/ripped with public trackers or IRC.

Many seeds, enforced ratios, fast downloads, (first 3 kind of go hand in hand...in hand), reliable, large selection from what I under stand.

I cap my download speed on everything I get from there. It's really really really hard to keep a good ratio (especially when downloading older stuff), so people seed stuff forever, which gives much faster speeds.

seed points won't help your ratio though. Just download some new game and seed it for a few days if you're hurting badly.

Unless you like cool titles and absurd download/upload limits, Seed Points do everything you need for your ratio. As long as you obtain the required points for the torrent you are downloading, it's impossible to be below a 1.0 ratio.

I like the idea of BlackCats cause you are rewarded for good content and sharing.

Now I have access to new content (BlackCats), retro content (UndergroundGamer), and generic whatever content (Demonoid).

Now if only BrokenStones had an open day... (Mac stuff, only 5000 members)

It depends. Blackcats has a much larger gaming library, especially for obscure games. People actually fill your requests as well, since the system is so organized. You'll generally also see new games released faster, and seeds stick around forever pretty much. (I've downloaded obscure games from torrents that are over a year old and still have 3-4 seeds).

I've only used it for movies, music, and apps. Haven't tried looking for games off it.

Oh, and... remember kids, copying is wrong! Only download what you have already legally purchased! And stuff.

Don't forget that you have a better chance of receiving a copyright infringement letter when you're in a public swarm as opposed to a private tracker... use PG2 always!

I clicked the register button, and it said they were currently not taking anymore people. tho they said to check back "very soon"
so maybe they disabled the page or something.

If you go directly to the sign up page itself it will load up white like that. You have to first go to the blackcats front page then click "register".
