Yeah, I know it will still come ahead in the parse, but not by a large enough margin to justify not going /NIN. I meant the difference in damage becomes much more noticeable with Hasso fulltime. And my meritting days are over until I finish another job =[. Sadly, I never really got to try /SAM because /NIN was always the better option for my safety and/or MP. Well that and I didn't even cap G.axe until most of my merits were done D:

I still don't like /sam over /nin, regardless of weapon used.
I'll disagree and still go with WAR and SAM rolls. 5 Hits to 100% TP is hard to beat in any situation which also allows to not having to stick to 7sTP. BRD songs can be flexible either way. If the Mad is that much of a difference then I retract my previous statement . With Cor Brd we usually do SAM WAR and March Min.

Agree with this. WAR and SAM rolls are fun but in a good party they won't help EXP. As a COR it's frustrating to deal with people who don't understand that. :<

Re: Every ridill owner is a n00b... including me???

    What's the ATT/ACC difference between sushi/meat 2nd min/Mad?
Will vary with food, BRD merits, instruments etc. but basically:

    1: Min4/Mad2/March1/March2 with Meat (Depending on food ~70 attack + stats)= S[56attack+34acc+9haste+11haste] + F[70attack]
    2: Min4/Min3/March1/March2 with Sushi(Depending on food ~15% acc + stats) = S[56 attack+43 attack+9haste+11haste] + F[~30acc]

    Scenario 1 = +126 attack, 20% haste, 34 acc.
    Scenario 2= +99 attack, 20% haste, 30 acc.

Quick math since I'm headed out to dinner, and my BRD is still unlocked so song numbers I assume will be slightly off. Assuming the basic numbers are somewhat correct though, the difference isn't too vast, so I guess it boils down to whether you want to spam Sushi or cheap attack food >_>

No time to double check the inevitable mistakes, gotta go D; I'm hope someone more knowledgeable will further upon these numbers.

COR gains can be nice to a point but seems like it would be too much of a hassle to get everyone together for the COR roll since it would suck to not have if that ends up being 1 of the 3 rolls you'd use since you would want everyone to have it. So you'd have to do something like Evo > w/e Melee roll > Cor roll. Just seems like a hassle.

    Perhaps a silly question but...

Has anyone tracked XP/hr swapping from Ridillberk WAR/NIN to GAxe WAR/SAM, keeping everything else equal?

Damage increase, blah blah. I get it.

Is there a noteworthy improvement in XP rate, or is that ~3% extra damage just adding extra stress on your support without any real payoff?

I'm not being facetious here, it's been a while since I've had the time or inclination to merit seriously, and this interests me. I have, however, been leveling SAM, and I sponge quite a bit of MP even with Seigan + Third Eye. There are times I'm pretty sure I would've been better off with /NIN because the bottleneck was not kill speed or mob availability but overworked healer MP.

Edit: If there's a caveat that you need 3 DDs who do near-equal damage to balance hate, that's fine. What about in a situation where that doesn't happen and hate is lopsided?

Re: Every ridill owner is a n00b... including me???

I have 8 Great Axe Merits, no Adaberk, and any combination of(min march fighters chaos hunters madrigal corsairs) song rolls from BRD/COR or pretty much any combination of 2 support jobs gives me no problem any camp I am at.

Don't knock min min march march, 2k weaponskills are fun. Also from a healer's prespective 3 ridillers are going to get their asses kicked eating high TP WS every 5 seconds. Maybe if your PT has one of those poor ninja things, or you pull a Mamool Ja THF, but other than that I want to get the most out of my TP and the swings I take to get it.

In fact, the extra damage from min min march march helps me to wake the mob and have it's hate, rather than smacking it and making it run at the brd/mage/whoever is not me if my voke still has 12 seconds on it(Happens a lot.)

Re: Every ridill owner is a n00b... including me???

Support issues are a good point, though, to me, mob availability is just as big a concern, particularly when looking at Greater Colibri. At least, something to consider, before meriting a job around those camps.

Far as songs, parsing when I'm on BRD would support March x2, Minuet, Madrigal as more beneficial overall. The majority of melees I've seen do better with that than with dual Minuet. Obviously my NIN does as well =P
Won't be an issue for much longer though, I suspect, unless the BRD JA has an inpractical timer. We'll be able to overwrite a Madrigal with a Minuet III on those that it'd benefit more.

I'll never understand this, when I know for a fact that you have some of the most competent mages on Asura at your disposal. I have a short attention span when it comes to meriting, and I still have absolutely no problems maintaining a party of all /SAM.

To each his own of course, just doesn't make sense to me.

Oh, and lol at people who don't understand how powerful Corsair's Roll is. Its gotten to the point where I just don't argue anymore - Melee can have their offensive rolls. As long as I'm getting Corsair's and Evoker's, I'm a happy RDM(hell, I could make due without Evoker's).

Since i'm one of the Adaburk WAR/SAMs that Dant merits/parse with, i did want to chime in with "Don't forget lolSkillchain damage". 3x WAR/SAMs spamming Raging Rush produces a hell of a lot of Fragmentation. It's usually laughable, but it adds up. The occasional mirror though just makes mobs evaporate.

I've had a lot of fun recently as WAR/SAM vs. WAR/RID. 3x WAR/SAM is just hilarious brutality.

It'll be interesting to parse as DRK/SAM.

In an unbalanced PT i'll agree. If one person is taking too much hate vs the others or just flat out doing too much damage. They'll become an MP sink. But if you have 2 others that are almost equal then it becomes a non-issue. With 3 2H's though you'll generally not have to worry about it at all because stuff just dies so fast. That and 3rd eye is nice for those multi hit WS's when it's up... not getting hit at all is really nice.

Until your fresh seigan-3E gets cleared by dispelling wind. People are just terribly spoiled by colibri.
