Nothing wrong with switching discs anyway. We did it before and it's certainly faster than installing a game, without the loss of HD space too. Does anyone really care about having to get up once every 10 hours+ to swap a disc?

No, but a lot of games have been stripped down at the design phase to accommodate the 360's size limitations. GTA4 and Mass Effect being good examples. Sadly this advantage of PS3 is nullified because everything is designed with multi-platform in mind, which means the lowest common denominator is what gets designed around.

From a user perspective it doesn't make much diff. From a developer standpoint it's a huge diff =/

If FF13 360 is released only with an English language audio track then I have no doubt it'll fit on a conventional DVD without any noticeable defects in the game.

The reason why you don't see many console exclusives is mostly because of Havok. In the need to create new games implementing the latest technology, it's not economically sensible to create a game from scratch. That's why there's Havok systems which allows game developers to implement Havok physics, animation, ect into a game to save time and money. Havok also allows for very easy cross platform programming, so it's easy to make a game for PS3, Wii, PC, Xbox360, and some hand-helds.

Besides that point, basic marketing is to hit as many marketing areas as you can to sell more product. Thus the new age of consoles aren't based on what game they can play, but on the technology under the hood and of course price.
