I guess they don't know... they can go to their own control panel and under "Options" they can set their own 10/20/30/40/50 posts per page O_o

I hated phpbb. I'm happy it's vBulletin. I didn't enjoy waiting 5 seconds for every page to load because the server had to search through millions of database shit.

since we are on the topic of the forum format. i have a concern of my own. when i do a advanced searc of someones name, i use to be able to see the highlighted name inside the thread on a specific page when that name came up or was talked about. But now i can only see the Title of the thread, but it wont take me directly to it.

I hate trying to go through 40-50 pages just to find someones name.

this grind anyone elses gears?

Of course it wasnt like that, we DIDNT WANT TO SWITCH, but we had to. Phpbb3 wasnt made for our post volume, we were bottlenecking hard, no real way except a full recode of the software ourselves to accommodate it better. That and there were issues with the code we had to patch ourselves because phpbb group hadnt done it yet. We made the call to go to VB, thats it, Im sorry you dont like it but we have to live with it.

We did it so everybody could continue using the forums trouble free, I wish people would stop crucifying us for it.

I dig the switch, at first it was very annoying but its much more functional then PHPBB once you get used to it. Only things that annoy me are the "See page 1 2 3....last page" and that embedded pictures vanish if you scroll up, neither are major concerns though.
