Great movie but...

[spoiler:1bbf4poa]Alright, I'm not entirely sure but I think this is just the story the Bible and Christianity. Yivo is God (although Yivo doesn't say he created the universe), and he loves everyone. Fry's girlfriend also loves everyone unconditionally but in a human form, and is therefore Jesus. Bender is Lucifer because he loves Fry and his friends so much that he will not give them up (a bit of a stretch but the movie isn't told exactly the same). Fry is Eve because he did what Yivo specifically asked the universe not to do, to not contact other universes (like how Eve ate the apple despite being told not to)

I think the moral of the story is is that love is conditional and greedy and dark and people have known about it for a long, long time. Yet still we strive for it. At least that's my take...[/spoiler:1bbf4poa]

Yeah, I didn't like that part But overall I thought it was better than BBS, it seemed more coherent, which is odd considering it was a movie about a giant tentacle monster spine-raping the entire universe.

Futurama is the only cartoon that can be good when there is no joke. Sad part were often the most memorable for me.


Can't wait to watch this episodes, I'm sure I will love it even if it's half as good as last one was.

The episode with Fry's dog is one of my favorite episodes for this reason, although it's kinda depressing.

i'm not a TV watcher, but i caught this one last night randomly... stupid dog scene at the end ruined my whole evening definitely memorable though.

After finally watching the entire thing, I kind of agree with Metah's point. Yevo sounds a lot like Yahweh and the entire "idea-implanting" concept is only a fundamentally Judeo-Christian one. Fry's letter is much like Eve's eating of the fruit from the tree of knowledge and humanity's fall out of heaven/eden back into their mortal realm.

I still enjoyed the film, but did find the Judeo-Christian overtones kind of strange; even if it is as satire.
