The good news: a lot of "first-three-letters" characters have apparently been banned from the servers I'm watching and haven't shown up for a few days.

The bad news: apparently they've been replaced by a number of similar characters with "normal" sounding names (eg not "xnkhjy"), which I'm guessing have been made with the in-game name generator. I've seen a few of these around Jeuno and Rolanberry, and this can't be a coincidence, they have the same title and AH behavior -- all selling gear for usually 10/20% less than market price, bazaring for even less, all have "new adventurer" title, and have bought prism powders (and sometimes oils) according to their history, everything else is them selling expensive items (such as entire HQ staves sets, etc).

Still, they're easy to track from the popular items history, but this looks like it will have no end. The history for Terra staff on my server had more than half of sellers starting by the first 3 letters, and I'm starting to really see some impact of the value of certain items constantly dumped by these rmt sellers.

They fish. I just did the Gessho fight there, and there's a good number of fishermen down there who are quite obviously RMT.

A lot of the same things stated here reflect what I've found searching Siren.

I've also found a few that you can tell are probably fishing bots, as their sale histories list only purchases of lures/rods or the sales of stacks of fish for days.
