Kaeko, or anyone else that was watching the fight, I have a question for you guys... Were all of it's tp attacks as well as Trample hitting people without hate Like Nidhogg does?

I totally forgot to mention that I have tried to have someone in alliance to take pictures where none had. IF what people say is true about Lower HP = more points you get , then you can actually measure the following:
1- are ur dmg lowering his HP continuously.
2- does he have a high regen?
3- does Damsel Memento recover his HP ?
my suggestion for the LSs that will try him is to get a camera man 1 or 2, and have them dedicated to continuously take pictures , having the first picture just once you engage to set it as a benchmark.
then you start recording the points you are getting including a record of points immediately after Damsel Memento.
Hmm there must be something to make the HP Bar appear. Did you guys try throwing another Ash at it after the fight started?
(i am sure that´s not it but there must be something to make the Bar appear)

I'd love to see some Skillchain information after maintenance if people are going to be going for this again.
I noticed that a lot of the information given so far has been on melee hits, weapon skills, bloodpacts (which look promising, anything on Diabolos?), and magic damage. Perhaps try a darkness based skillchain, seeing as dark based magic hardly resisted at all?
I'd love to do this myself with a group of people, but I highly doubt people in my LS are willing to go through with the needed preparations for this.
Thanks for all the great info for this, I'm surprised at how much stuff we've found that wasn't released in patch notes so far.

I saw levithan do the most dmg. I saw someone use Diabolos but it did 108 dmg. That green move dark ixion did heal it's hp in the chat log it said he recovered hp
Hm, don't see any in the screenshots, though that could mean nothing; but I wonder if fighting around Pixies will do/prompt anything.
Or if there's another drop off of mobs we need to locate as well, perhaps.
Or it's because they don't want it to be fought yet. Or something. -.-
yes we did throw 3 ashes all landed , but only the first that effected him by actually make him aggro.
and yes his AoEs reach everyone
my speculations are few:
1- he doesn't have an HP bar , and since Damsel Memento seems to be in 10min incriminates , you
will need to Kill him during the 10min period before he recover his HP. We did notice as some points where he will have faster attack speed although elegy and slow on and also more TP moves spam.
where he will usually trample charge once and go back to tank , he will charge 2-3 times then goes back to tank.
anyways my point is , most of the monsters in game tend to be more aggressive in their last 25%
so maybe he has a low HP total , high def and every 10min he will benediction.
2- another item / move , you need to use/do to trigger the HP bar.
3- a bug.
Edit: we did bring pixi near him , nothing happened. Earlier on, a pixi came by and cured the tank.
Nice one!
Madberserk and Efendil buddys from my LS was there :D
Maybe we should just do a Server-wide hunt with so much ppl like in a besieged:
300 - 700.
Pull it and then CFH and everyone of the 300+ 2h ?
Overkill!
I'm not saying this is a "How to Kill" guide, but going off of a previous Dark Ixion appearance in a previous Final Fantasy (hoping Square stays with their trends), here's what I know about the previous Dark Ixion and how to kill it. This information is from FF10.
Make sure everyone fighting has Haste
Have a lot of melee's with high DPS
Dispel Ixion in the beginning of the battle
The idea of "Light Ixion" could hold true, considering you had to fight another form of Ixion as soon as you defeated Dark Ixion
He is immune to anything Fire and Ice based (in FFXI, that could also mean Weapon Skills)
He absorbs Lightning (also could mean Weapon Skills)
Half damage on Water (also could mean Weapon Skills)
He is immune to all stats except positive ones (I'm not sure what this could mean in relation to FFXI, especially considering that someone said they landed Blind on it)
Overall, don't weapon skill, don't hit it with any fire, ice, lightning or water spells/weapon skills. Have a lot of melee with lots of haste, don't try to enfeeble it and make sure to dispel it's buffs in the beginning of the fight.
Again, I'm not sure if this could fit in FFXI, but if SE holds on to their own ideas, this could lead somewhere.
If you read previous threads, you will see ice dmg did more than other elements.

oo.. a HNM by global aoe definition after all..Originally Posted by SathFenrir

Both of these together make me think it would require some sort of King V style attack, like a zerg. Also as Donnie mentioned there could also be an issue with doing something to make its HP bar appear as well.Originally Posted by donnie
That's why I said it's not a "How to" guide, just information on a previous Dark Ixion appearance in FF10, and information about that Dark Ixion--in FF10--in hopes that SE stays with their original Dark Ixion idea, or at least some of it.

Just to back up the idea that Ixion may have a restore HP/MP move, some say yes some say no . He does have a move that doesn't totaly restore like benediction but does a partial for mp/hp in FFX-2.
Pretty cool that the Ixion in FFX-2 drops Sprint shoes and the rumor is the Ixion Tail from our version may be synth material for the new melee gaiters.
Final Fantasy X-2 - Strategy Guide (Page 11)
- [B12] -----------------------------------------
Name: Ixion
HP: 12380
MP: 9999
Weak: Water
EXP: 2600
Normal Steal: Sprint Shoes
Rare Steal: Sprint Shoes
Normal Drop: Soul of Thamasa
Rare Drop: Soul of Thamasa
Dropped Gil: 1800
Pilfered Gil: 3000
Strategy:
This battle shouldn't be too difficult. Just be careful because
Ixion's Aerospark does around 1200 damage to one character. Ixion's normal
attacks does around 150 damage to one character. Ixion also Recharges once
in a while that gives it 200 HP/MP back. The only thing to really look out
for is Ixion's "Thor's Hammer" attack that will do around 1000 damage to
all your characters. So keep yourself at around full health.
I wonder if they purposefully created it without a visible health bar to make us speculate more on how to kill it or if it's something that just got fixed with the many other glitches from the update. It just seems fairly odd that it would be the only mob/NM in the game w/o one.
To add to the conversation, it does seem like it might be a KV style kill. Either way, as long as it's not AV's my little pony, it will be dead within a few days.
well, one almost guaranteed way (AV like loophole here) to find out if he has a finite chunk of HP would be to CFH him and throw as many people as you can locate on it. i wonder if you could thunder resist tank him, since so many of his potent attacks seem to be elementally aligned. then again, how much thunder res gear can you come up with really?
