Ixion has an animation for his horn breaking off. Whether it's upon killing it or something particular/special in the fight, we may hopefully find out shortly from Sath.

That's interesting, reminds me of when I was helping farm Marid Hide's and every time we "broke" his tusk it was a 100% drop.
