I've read the whole thread and it has never been confirmed that throwing the ash works. I only see one example where it worked and thats not enough proof for me. Repeatability please. With all the other rampant speculation and stupid references to other ff's I would just like a solid answer.

Criticals? Since that is what forces most 'break' animations to happen.

Yeah, and whether it's something that happens on Ixion or something for future missions or what. I just wonder if timing a horn break properly would give him a proper HP bar or something. Very odd.

OK here is the info I got watching BBQ's Fight (Odin Server) for about 80 minutes. Some of this (especially how it is aggroed) is possibly inaccurate since I was not there and it was hectic to start. It was found near the center of map in Bat. Downs [S].

Donnie (Pusher), Vagus, Tonnberry, and other BBQ members can probably tell you first hand about this, but since they were fighting, I don't know how many notes and specifics they all got.


Pulling Dark Ixion

The Pixie drop Stygian Ash (ranged weapon) was used to pull Dark Ixion. A total of 3 were used in the early fight I think. I know others here have used it and Ixion takes a look then runs away seconds later. This was not the case according to them, but the ranged attack LANDED for them. My personal speculation is that landing the ranged attack acted as a "pull" with the full 200 CE 900 VE, and missing fails to grant you that enmity, so it sticks around long enough to establish yourself.

I'm currently watching a LS fight it on Odin and I was standing by invisible watching, and it charged me and hit me for 906 damage.. I thought that was weird as I was never engaged or did anything but stand there o.O

So does the cloak look like a regular black cloak? They coulda made it purple or something at least.

Fun fight. He seems to have 2 "modes". In his "buffed" mode (nothing in chat log for the buff, just lowers his head and does an animation on himself) he has glowing purple/orange balls flowing off his body and he spams TP (mainly Rampant Stance) with few regular melee attacks. In normal mode, he melee's like normal and seems to TP like normal.

He gives no warning when using a physical TP move or when he is going to cure himself; however, when he is going to use a magic TP move (wrath or lighting), he lowers his head and charges his horn first.

edit: also, in the 'buffed' mode, he seems to use TP on whatever character or avatar is closest. So if a THF comes in for SA or an avatar is on it, it seemed to TP on them.

Has been stated a number of times in the thread, like most HNMs all damage will hit everyone around. These were only changed for EXP mobs and the PHs for kings because people used that advantage to MPK people.

Which I think they should swap back to Faf wings hitting everyone and whatnot so assholes stop crowding people who claim it. And because if people die to Fafnir wings when they're not fighting it, then they're stupid and deserve to die and HP.

Such fun~ Should have him down very soon. It's just been about an hour- >20%. Probably would be dead already if it didn't move on us. =X Amazing moves and nice animations.
