I looked for awhile, but I couldn't find it. Based on how this mob works with despawning and fleeing or whatever the hell it does, I'm not sure my inability to find it by myself means much. By the time I got to the spot my ls person said she saw it at, it was like 20 minutes later; I searched 3 zones with widescan before I gave up. So... dunno.

I can't think of any reason why they would have made that up. But, you know, people are weird.

Could a decent well-balanced alliance take this down with ease? Or would you need to be say WHM or Tank-heavy?

Any status effects known as of yet? (Terror etc)

I have a funny feeling this may be a 21-24 mob that maybe cannot pop in the same zone consecutively.

Sucks that the new magey-shit they added is Whm/Blm/Brd/Smn only... I mean, wtf@that. Would suggest SE considers Sch more like a Rdm than Blm or Whm to not put it on the new Cape/Oracles stuff.

Also, shit would gank my inv something chronic gearing my Blm and Sch appropriately with hMP and non-Einy-Cape.

I put that in the same box as the people reporting him with HP bar right after the maint.

Easiest way to tell is bring some memory reading tool to the place where it died last and check if you still find it there with 0% HP. That is assumed there is only 1 Ixion across all zones which i definately believe.

Seems pretty funny to me. It doesn't matter what zone he pops in. Get too close and he will jut run off to another one.


Edit: Go read on the first pages what his TP moves are. I believe the status effects are listed there. (Bind, Gravity, Silence)

After reading all of the ixion information yesterday & today I have to say it's kind of disappointing. Although it could just be general cynicism from SE updates, the items off Ixion are 'kind of' nice, as in I'm sure people wouldn't mind them if the HNM wasn't too ridiculous. Now the fact that it's likely to spawn in any [S] zone 21-24 hrs (or possibly more/less, speculation), the weird method of claiming said NM, and the fact the drops a on par w/salvage gears & einherjar capes is what disappoints me.

I expected a cool purple model cloak too till i saw the .dat mined for it and realized they reused Black Cloak. As if fighting for claim in Aery/Valley/Dominion wasn't hard enough lets slam an NM that spawns in every zone, lol.On a plus side, it seems it can be taken down with relative ease which is something interesting. At least it's not AV-Secret style and just goes around owning people.

I dont get what people complain about all the time...First everyone complains about the way HNM spawns, bots etc and when they introduce a NM that can't be botted at all you are still not happy..Can't expect to leave your mog house and find every item you want in your inventory.

I think what he was saying is that the items, while not bad by any means, aren't necessarily worth the bullshit involved in claiming Ixion. However, if bots can be considered part of claiming Fafnir, then it would seem to be considerably less bullshit than that. Imo, it seems around par. Take out the bots and adaberk & Ridill are on pretty easy mobs for their worth.

Ixion's claiming system is, in a word, amazing. Maintaining a steady stream of pop items is not simply dependant on the people who fight him, but every person on the server. The act of even ATTEMPTING to fight the beast affects everyone who plays in the past and, once they unlock the feature, the present. Unless you restrain yourself, you might have to wait days, weeks, months to fight him again.
