I dont know, i think the Hermes sandals and the cape are definately worth it but thats my personal opinion. It is damn annoying to claim, totally agree, but what else could they do against bots. they just did what many player asked for.Originally Posted by LD
its still relatively easy to bot once you have the id for it for each zone, for making finding it easy anyway-- but claiming it, yeah
*edit* disregard, cocks, etc.
Thought the wyvern name was a Campaign NPC.
no. the ID is different in each zone, progeny killed it on my server already but its still 100% on ffxiapp in the other zonesOriginally Posted by Niki

If only there was some sort of system implimented to gain points to spawn certain notorious monsters when a certain task was completed...if only...oh wai-Originally Posted by Niki
I think it's nice that not everything is sky or dynamis. There's nothing wrong with those systems, but for something that's neither, I think they did a pretty good job.
Yeah and i'm glad that this new system doesn't apply for every single mob, that would be extremly boring.Originally Posted by Octavious
Yeah i know its different on other zones, but the 0% one should still dissapear if it pops again or? I was more talking about if Ixion was killed in zone it cant spawn in the other zones until the timer is up.Originally Posted by Robert Mk. 2

Not going to say you suck, but tell your rngs to sub war next time for extra damage. /SAM with a 1H axe is just stupid. Or /SAM for something like that in general. You also had 2x SAM and a MNK. Which those other screen shots of that mnk doing 2k are just silly lol.Originally Posted by Suterusu
What wall did you move it to? The railing along the road or another wall? Well as seen on Ixion it doesn't matter if you have aggro or not you have a chance to die w/ the random charge XD.

I think SE did a really good job with this NM, my favourite SS
I was the RNG in the fight on Carbuncle, and I subbed NIN as well. Why? Cause, simply, I had no freaking clue what to expect in this, plus I was one of the people looking for him so having easy stealth was nice. Now that I know that Utsusemi does not help against him unless you steal hate, I will go /WAR or /SAM on RNG here.
Damage wise, I was all over the map, but now that I know about where to stand and what to do, it will be smoother. For a while, I tried Sidewinder (from apparently a shitty spot), and was hitting in the 100's, so I switched to Empyreal Arrow (of all things.) That actually had consistent damage (not great, but more than what Sidewinder was giving me.) About midway through, I tried Sidewinder again and hit for like 450'ish, so I knew something was up. After some experimentation, I figured out where to stand (mind you, this killed me a few times from AoE.)
That said, this is probably my only time on this thing as RNG, next time I will bring out my SAM (though I will still probably be one of the people looking for him.)

Most of our handful of DDs were dead from random charges and that directional lightning attack lol. Was hard raising people as we had to stand on them to find them with 170 people standing on it. =( I agree though, it did take us way too long to kill it. Had we held it against the cliff sooner we could have prolly afforded more people to come as BLU, SMN, etc.
Edit: There was so many people there at the start, an everage random rush would hit atleast a dozen, lol. I think one AoE dropped about 8 or 9 random people trying to get a closer look.
shoot from outside of 10'(best guess due to Distance being down) move in a bit SW move back out ;o?
Some people sub nin and use dual axe for the increased ACC, which if you need it why not? Just saying /SAM generally for any HNM isn't as useful as /NIN or WAR. Especially if you're going to sub sam and use 1h wep. At least use Fire staff so you can hasso for some free str.
Also do you think SAM would out damage RNG over time? I know SAM has the bigger numbers, but do you think it would out do RNG if you only WS once/twice every minute - 2 1/2 min?
Edit: Location IS important but i don't know if it would have allowed for that much of a job change.
Some of our DD were /SAM because at the start we were uncertain how it's TP worked. We heard he used it a lot but we didn't know it spammed at the same rate regardless of how much you TP it. As such we were using the strat of invite DD with TP, have them WS, and then drop for the next one in line. This did not work well as he does that one single target kick attack for anyone performing an action near him. (Playing songs without actually pulling hate he kicked me for over 1100.) After noticing that spamming it with TP made no difference we had RNG on it full time, not just for WS.
Wasn't you i don't think but was an elv bard that got kicked from behind while i was playing songs... i said in LS after that.
"Don't stand behind it for too long or you're going to get AoC kicked off a cliff..."
Someone else said it just flailed someone![]()
As for distance, I did a lot of normal shots from outside of AoE Range (unless he moved, then I would get hit and that sucked.) But, WS's at that same range sucked major ass, I really had to run up to the dude to do any damage there. I do wish Distance was fixed so I could have seen actual numbers as to where I was...
Also, I did a lot of this fight with Fire Staff/Axe Grip on, and, if I went RNG again, that is what I would use. /SAM does have use (simply, more STR with Hasso, and more WS's total), so yea, I would think about it if I went RNG again. For me, accuracy was not an issue on him, with or without double axes, and I did not even equip to the fullest (forgot my AF2 pants at home, so did it in AF+1).
Personally, I think SAM would be better (I would be WS'ing a ton, but the question of me not getting hate would be an issue.) Since Ixion seems to pop with a bunch of weak mobs around it to kill for TP, you don't have to rely on Meditate for TP, thus more WS's total.
zerk will increase the total damage though by far over /sam.
I'm not sure if this was ask or not, but I dont remember reading it, so here's my question, sorry if it was asked already >< :
How was Ixion eva ? Was he hard to hit ? I wonder if melee could get tp on him with archery or markmanship ? Like a sam with a rng build is capable of landing archery on him ?
