I just have a problem with the concept of selling stuff off before the LS gets saturated, pretty simple really. Good for you if your shell finds some retard who wants to pay 20mil for it, just reeks slightly of greed. Spread the legs a little bit wider, it's way more becoming.

Last I checked, FFXI ran on a more or less capitalist economy. Feel-good bullshit loses to good business sense every time.

On the other hand...If you have 3+ or even 2+ of a certain Ixion Drop, and not 1 has been given out to people who been at the fights and really want the cloak/cape/sandals, thats really sad. People buying the drops and wearing the gear before the LS thats been killing it...

Or... you could ask the people in the LSs selling drops, and see if they're bent about it.

Maybe they're just smart enough to recognize that the price is gonna drop significantly over time and the worth of a split now from a kill might be near enough the worth of the item in a couple months that patience wins.

Plus, the drops other than the boots are not omgwtfbbq awesome. Dagger is great for DNC, but I doubt long-term demand will be sky-high. Cloak is situationally neat, but not a gigantic boost for any job that would use it. Cape basically combines other items into one, though it does make for a pretty nice complete package. Boots synth item seems to be 100% drop rate, so there should be enough supply generated to keep price reasonable.

I feel much more pity for those who prefer e-peen to good sense, and right now you can make a lot of bank off those schmucks if you have the patience to wait while exploiting their greed and attention whoredom. If the gear was incredible to the point where it significantly improved the capabilities of one or more jobs, that'd be one thing. Slight upgrades or side grades and some +Movespeed for one of the classic bandwagon jobs though...

That's one hell of a contradiction. You're saying why not sell crap for more than it's worth while you can, yet moan about not giving any of the items to LS members? I'm trying to comprehend this ... no, let's not make 50m now for something thats gonna be worth 1m later -- let's give out items to our members that aren't game breaking? I'm all for giving shit to LS members first and all, but damn. I'm pretty sure you'd be the minority in many end-game linkshells there. 50m is near half a relic on most servers these days -- for a 2hour fight [scout, claim, gather, hold. etc]? what's wrong with you, lol.

If you're LS has 3+ of 1 of the Ixion drops, sure put a 50m tag on it, but hand atleast a few out to members...Then if another idiot comes around and wants to buy it, then do it. Then think of this: Say your LS has 12 blms. How long will it take to get them 12 Capes? A long time...because of other LS claims, no drops, etc.

Hello assumptions? How would you know if each individual person wants it or not? I'm a BLM who's been at several Ixion kills and I have no interest whatsoever in the cape: I already have Gleeman's for the 5 INT and Aslan for the 5 MND. While I would love to save 1 inventory space (although I'm not sure I'd be ready to throw away the other 2, plus I'd be pissed for spending ampoules for nothing), I also have RDM leveled, therefore making Ixion's cape essentially a piece of shit to me. The cloak would be awesome if you could wear a headpiece but you can't, therefore also making it a piece of shit (to me anyway). Other people in my shell feel differently/don't have both Ein capes/don't have Morrigan's body for nuking so the drops will stay inside for a while, but don't assume that just because 1 person present at kills doesn't have a drop automatically means they're being forced to pass on them. Lots of people in shells who kill Ixion have Morrigan's Robes and a good amount of them have at least one Ein cape cape already.

Sorry I don't follow how Ixion's cape isn't better than both Gleemans and Aslans combined, even for rdm ;|
