I remember hearing about it and thinking it was stupid, but I started trying it when soloing, and tanking... and again it is just as likely that it's a total placebo effect, but when I do catch the gob ready the toss and do the little run in front of the arm retard dance, it seems like they suicide a lot.
I didn't think anything about breaking imp horns, qutrub weapons, etc, requiring a specific angle because of this.
When I was trying to help a Blu friend learn that cleave spell or whichever it was, we were rampaging, and raging rushing at his weapon hand specifically, trying to land crits from that direction.
So, here's a little oddity for you all:
We're fighting Ixion today, decide to take a little breather, and have an RNG shadowbind Ixion. Ixion then stands around...and does nothing. At all. For minutes on end. Our BLU shoved a 1500+ Cannonball out and Ixion still wouldn't turn, use a TP move, or do anything but stand in place staring at our tanks. Knocked off about 10% HP with ranged attacks and Cannonball before it randomly charged an Archeron kick on a non-existant target and then walked over to our tanks.
We say this happen to our Ixion 3 days ago when fighting in the Fort. Same thing... stood still did nothing while it ate RNG shots for about 5 minutes. It unlocked itself when someone got near it and it attempted Archon Kick.
Circumstances were very similar to yours. It went Berserk Mode, It used a Kick, then ran off. We Bound it with a RNG as it ran off. When bind wore, it just stood there for minutes eating shots. When someone got near it it kicked and went back to normal.
I personally think it has something to do with it getting bound during Berserk Mode (red eyes flashing). It likes to do weapon skills in 2s sometimes in this mode (x2 thunder moves or x2 kick etc.). If you say Bind it right after the first and bail, it has no targets in range to attempt the 2nd even though it's being told it needs to use another, so it just waits for someone to get in range to attempt a TP move instead of moving to target.... just my little theory though.
Can try testing this out by seeing it go Berserk mode, when it uses a Kick at random (like it annoyingly does during zerk), bind it quickly and bail asap. Might lock if it's told to kick a 2nd time but no one is near it?
So we fought this thing for the first time for 3 hrs early in the morning. Kept doing the stupid healing move over and over.
Three things:
1) If you see a lightning animation, run.
2) SATA does a lot of dmg.
3) We saw the horn break once at 16% when the RNG did some dmg to it. Other that, it seems really random on breaking the horn. We had WARs 2hr, SAM ws after ws, SC, crit setups, and nada.
Hey thanks for the tips
I was with Hsieh when we killed Dark Ixion-
I got alittle bored around 35% and came back to kraken zerg it on drk to try to break the horn from the front.
In conclusion- Souleater + Bloodweapon in the front of it was around 50 damage dealt and 50 damage drained from Bloodweapon. It turned like it always does and then I did some hits for 180+180 etc. Knocked off roughly 2%. Was unsure how it was going to be so I asked one of our plds to 2hr to keep it in one spot. After I died, Hsieh tried to kraken it and got pwn'd by an AoE. ; ;
It was doing its hp recovery move for 5% each time roughly every 5-10 minutes. Which is why it lasted 3 hours. QQ
Killed 10 time on Asura, longest being 2h, shortest being around 40min. In all 10 fights, we have not seen the horn break.
lol trolling as usual. funny because ur ls takes longer to kill and cant stand the fact when another ls claims out of 1/10 you have to try steal it.
it's also funny that your leader calls for a truce right after someone from your ls tried stealing then asks the whole ls to leave the area.
you sir are a winnah.
Dont forget about when they had to use another hnmls pld to tank for them![]()
