How this all went down on Odin.

Aable wanted to test out his manly monk kicks, so he goes to kill a pixie. They get the Ash and Katoke tries to shout and sell in Al Zahbi saying its used to pop Ixion for 3M. I shout in Al Zahbi to throw it at Ixion. Several hours later, someone on BG tosses it at Ixion and the crazyness begins. Lol. LS attempts Ixion with 12 ppl early NA time. We run around zones trying to track it down. Ixion is agroed 2x by random people. We finally engage but we miss when we toss the Ash. I fall asleep and I wake up 6hours later to find whole LS fighting Ixion. Sadly its 10min till maintenance.

We just CFH on Ixion. Heh. Thunder IV was landing for 50. Blizzard IV landed for 125-150. I have full elemental resist gear as well. Seems pretty resistant to magic, most likely on par to Khimera. I tried curing it, nothing happened. There was a pixie near the fight when i arrived and still no HP bar. Tonnberry & Donnie have abilities and ws from Ixion. I'm sure they'll popst @ some point. BBQ on Odin is charged with taking out the pixie nation.

Ok over, CFH'd 1min before maintenance and 40 people tried to gank it. It didn't die. Going to post findings soon. Was tanking all the time and now im hungry. -_-

hmm, must be. why dosnt your jesus like mind fill me in about what i seem to have missed. I didnt see anything about people trying to cure it and sence it has no hp bar, was found by a wounded soilder (in its story), and seems to be claimed by pixies ash (dust) then maybe, just maybe. (more than likely not) this is possible. But im to dee dee dee to really know i guess.

Side note: anyone remember in ffx that boss mob underwater after killing it flying by the ship. You cured it or threw a x-potion at it to do damage. Am i remembering that correctly?

It refused to go down, especially with no HP bar. People went down very quickly when it started spamming that AoE lightning move after the maintenance annoucement--not surprisingly, the Aegis PLD was left alive last. I'm sure a strategy could be devised for dealing with anything it can throw, but right now the biggest obstacle is the lack of a way to actually kill it.

Second, if you would read the thread you would notice that the no HP bar might just be a glitch because people with TP watch up have seen his HP go down. In short, I highly doubt curing has anything to do with this, he is not undead.

Agreed. I just want to try to throw out options. Shoot them down if you want but nothing else seems to be doing to much to it. Sorry for the drama that came with me posting and trying to help.

Okay so. We engaged with like 10 people and during the first 30min we mainly dealt with keeping it under control. It's a really crazy mob. We pulled it with a RNG using Sharpshot, Unlimited Shot and Sushi with the drop of a Pixie. The RNG hit it. From then on it never tried to run away and never went yellow. Total fight time was 2:45h.

- Can not stun it in any form. No Stun, No Bash, No Stun WS. No idea if our BLU tried Head Butt.
- Immune to paralyze, bind and sleep.
- Blind lands easily.
- Slow usually needs ES. We used ES Slow order.
- Elegy sticks, but not easily. Probably like Cerb resistance or Khim. Should use BRD/BLM.
- Normal hits very weak. Around 120-200dmg. Still unsure about the damage type, but seems to be physical, since it interrupts casting.
- Absolutely impossible to parry or shield block normal hits. Over the 2:45h no one parried or blocked.
- Normal hits can miss.
- Does not cast any spell. Just melee and TP moves.
- Use some sort of charge move, where it randomly attacks a person with hate. It will rush to that person and attack it. Everyone in it's way will eat some damage, which can be pretty high. Keep Stoneskin up. This hit also goes through Utsusemi. It was using that charge move alot more on tanks than on mages, so I'm not 100% sure whether it's completely random. Maybe last person who did an action to it. Hard to tell..
- The charge move can also add Bind. Doesn't last long
- Uses AOE Stun TP move which does not clear shadows. Does around 300 damage and stun lasts max 2sec. Not a threat.
- Uses AOE "Wrath of Zeus" which does over 700dmg and adds Silence. Strips Utsusemi.
- Can somehow charge up it's horn and then will use Lighting Spear. Seems to be breath type damage, because when you are in it's line of sight it does up to 1000 damage.
- Does AOE kick move that strips shadows. Seems to be physical. Damage varied alot.
- Uses a restoral move which name I forgot. It just says it's restoring HP. No amount and without HP bar no idea whether it's full or not.

- Melee damage seems like Cerb defense when attacking from the side or back.
- From the front damage only does like 10%.
- Highest BLM nuke was something like 370dmg ES Freeze II.
- No idea about SMN damage.
- BLU tried SA Cannonball, but kinda suck with SA being borked. From the front you can't really do damage. lol
- Bio sticks. No idea about elemental debuffs.

Maybe it's like KV with insane regen and you need to kill it quick...

The one in the air was Evrae.. the one under water was Evrae Altana. You cure or threw x potion at Evrae Altana because its undead.

OK here is the info I got watching BBQ's Fight (Odin Server) for about 80 minutes. Some of this (especially how it is aggroed) is possibly inaccurate since I was not there and it was hectic to start. It was found near the center of map in Bat. Downs [S].

Donnie (Pusher), Vagus, Tonnberry, and other BBQ members can probably tell you first hand about this, but since they were fighting, I don't know how many notes and specifics they all got.


Pulling Dark Ixion

The Pixie drop Stygian Ash (ranged weapon) was used to pull Dark Ixion. A total of 3 were used in the early fight I think. I know others here have used it and Ixion takes a look then runs away seconds later. This was not the case according to them, but the ranged attack LANDED for them. My personal speculation is that landing the ranged attack acted as a "pull" with the full 200 CE 900 VE, and missing fails to grant you that enmity, so it sticks around long enough to establish yourself.


Enfeebling Dark ixion

The following Enfeebles NEVER landed: Gravity, Bind, Sleep, Paralyze, Stun

The follow Enfeebles landed RARELY: Hojo, Kurayami, Slow, Elegy

It attacks pretty damn fast so the ability to land slows is nice. They had 1 NIN/DRK and 1 PLD/NIN (Aegis) tanking and I never saw any form of stun land. Bind and Sleep definitely did not land as far as I can tell. Elegy lands rarely... possible good use of BRD/BLM on this one? I know it does land. Also NIN enfeebles landed by kind of as a joke.


Dark Ixion TP Attacks and AI

First of all, it runs VERY fast. Faster than AV I think. If it wasn't obvious by looking at it, you really can't kite this. It also attacks very fast, but melee hits were rather weak... 150 to 200 average to both the PLD/NIN and NIN/DRK. Block Rate on the Aegis PLD (Blacat in screenies) was very high... Repraisal use I think.

There is no form of hate reset on Ixion. It will; however, run around every so often - I would say once every 60 to 90 seconds. What it does is take about 10 steps (loooong steps) forward very quickly in whatever direction it is currently facing, moving a distance of roughly 30' forward, then go back to whoever has hate. During this what we ended up calling "trample", if you are in its path, it will damage you for about 500 to 800 damage. Extremely nasty. On the log, it looks like it just meleed a bunch of people at the same time.

They did test that if you take your tank and have him put his back to a wall, it WILL prevent this trample move.

Moving to TP moves...

Rampant Stance
Short Physical damage AoE circular from target - I would say about 5', certainly less than 10'. Also has an added effect Stun. This is physical damage which seems to flunctuate wildly it times. Normally I saw them in the 300s on tanks and 500s on others, but sometimes it would jump to 500 to 700. My guess is that this is just an AoE physical that can critical hit. It can be blocked as well. The PLD blocked this over 50% of the time I think for like 50-70 damage. Bypasses but does not wipe Utsu shadows.

Archeron Kick
This is a again, a short physical damage AoE circular damage from target. It only seems to use this if the target is on its side or back - aka, a Flail type move. No status effect but does have Knockback, but the damage on this can be quite nasty. It's stronger than Rampant Stance - I saw upwards to 1200 on this, but usually in the realm of 400-500 on tanks. Bypasses but does not wipe Utsu shadows.

Lightning Spear
Frontal/Conal AoE Lightnight elemental Breath Attack. Think of this as the lightning elemental equivalent of Dragon Breath. Damage varies with the positioning of the target. If you are on its sides (which is harder to do with the small model), you will only take in the 300-400s. If you are in front, you can take up to about 1500. Because it moves around quite a bit, positioning to avoid full hits on this can be hard. Has added effect 90-120 second Amnesia. This move, along with trample, was responisble for the most deaths. Bypasses but does not wipe Utsu Shadows.

Wraith of Zeus
10' AoE circular lightning elemental AoE. Damage on an unbuffed player with no MDB seemed to be roughly 1000 to 1200. A full buffed tank will take in the 450s if PLD, and 550s if NIN in this fight. Has added effect Silence. Need to be very careful with this since it can really kill mages in range. Wipes Utsu.

Damsel Memento
Very odd move. It's a self-buff move that Dark Ixion uses, but we couldn't figure out what it does. They tried both COR Dark Shot and Elemental Seal Dispel RIGHT after use, with no effect, so it doesn't provide a dispelable buff or any buff at all. No noticable effect occurs in log. We think it probably cures it but you just can't see it? Really all speculation on this one.

Ixion casts no magic or anything like that. So it's jsut these TP moves, melee attacks, and that trample thing. It was held quite easily with 6 players with the Aegis PLD. You cannot seem to Parry this from what TB tells me. Block works and works well though.


Damage Dealing Numbers

Here are the jobs and damage numbers I got. Before starting, I want to note that melee damage varies. If you attack from the front, it's only going to be 10% effective. Attacking from the sides or back will do roughly 50% damage. Magic damage seems to be only 25% effective.

SAM: Low 10-15ish melee hits and 400-500 Gekkos
RNG: 400-450 Slugshots and a 600 EES
BLM: Highest was a 307 Freeze II. Blizzard IVs in 200s unresisted. Most in low 100s.
COR: Rare unresisted Earth Shot was 160. Usually 16
SMN: Average 400 on physical bloodpact

NO HP BAR WAS EVER PRESENT DURING THE FIGHT. IF YOU USE WINDOWER IT WILL JUST SHOW THE % OF THE PAST THING YOU TARGETED.

Thank you. I found it on youtube as well. It's a Zombie form of the original so I guess the Dark Ixion dosn't seem the zombie form of the original. I'll back out of the posting and just watch now. GL guys

Hm so Blacat blocked alot? I couldn't see it in log cause I have so many filters. I asked Butcher and Zelgades earlier who were tanking at start before Blacat joined they said they never blocked. Weird. I'm going to talk to the tanks again when I'm back online to clarify it.
