Nah, we kited ours and just let the blms go nuts. It used 1 vile belch and tried to gnash and deathgnash the rest of the fight. Think all but one he readied and tank was out of range so it canceled.
Assuming the theory that elements of the day increase its power... perhaps nuking/enfeebling with spells of the element strong to that day would likewise decrease its power?![]()
this same thing happened to us last week, it was very odd. First pop was normal, didn't stick into cannonball mode and was basically like a normal wamouracampa, the second stuck in canonball around 50% and raped faces for a long while, eventually killed. The third was basically in cannonball mode the whole fight, it quickly killed the blu and sam dd's, but this is where it got odd. Our blu was out of range, hate was on the paladin, but Borer wanted to cannonball our blu, it did not attack -at all- when our blu was out of range, just sat there repeating "Mertron is out of range"We got a Brass Borer stuck on cannonball spam from 85% -- 0% he did a few other TP moves once we started doing proper damage to it, but it was at least 20 minutes spamming cannonball while we were trying to recover.
NIN/WAR tank and the bitch decides to cannonball the RDM (me -,-) then I got R adn once i stood up he cannonball'd me again, and again ._.
Soloing Nuhn, all it used was Gnash and Deathgnash, never anything else, and it didn't seem to have any sort of TP regen. As for Brass Borer, every time I've killed it it's been in cannonball mode the entire fight.
Same for me, and it's incredibly easy with /NIN and/or being out of range.Originally Posted by Waef
when we fought nuhn, the first time we straight tanked it and it went berserk after it hit 30%. It was spamming leeching current and vile blech which eventually got it to full health aain. We came back a couple days later and kited it, killing it twice. All it did while kiting was gnash and deathgnash, never anything else.

Doesn't the boat in front of that door have true sight Merrows? All the VT/IT mobs in the other strongholds this deep in are true sight, I figured these would be so I went the long way around.Originally Posted by Deci

would it be possible to solo Claret(T1 in M.Zhayolm) as blm/nin or /rdm?
could anyone provide some insight for the t3 troll.. uh khromasoul something, i forget. >.> I want to fight this dewd since i'm on the route for the cerb.![]()
He's nasty. Really, really, really nasty lol. He made up for our easy-as-pie Nuhn. We pulled him to a zone, and weren't having too many troubles tanking him. We were primarily using the zone as a means of depopping his helpers. Someone outside the alliance would diaga them when they popped, and quickly zoned. However, his Overthrow is quite deadly. It was doing tons of damage, and when our PLD died, he was spamming Overthrow on the mages, and quickly disposing of our mage-heavy alliance. We had to constantly zone to stay alive, and someone outside the alliance had to keep reclaiming him.Originally Posted by montgomery
A main problem we had was that if anyone acts on him in a party, he would automatically attack anyone else in range, even if they did nothing. If memory serves, his summons also attacked anyone who was resting near them, even if they were diaga'd and zoned. It was troublesome because we were slowly calling in new reinforcements throughout the course of the fight. And naturally, the reinforcements would charge at him as soon as they arrived, not knowing that he would turn and destroy everyone else lol. We didn't start the fight off with enough people (although I can't remember how many we started with).
It was a long, painful fight. At the end, we had 15 people in our alliance. If we had started with that many, I sincerely doubt the fight would've been as bad as it was. It's just that everyone was constantly weakened from his Overthrow spam (this was really bad when his health got low, and it didn't help when he started knocking people through the zone XD), and they kept dying while trying to keep someone else alive.
So basically, tips:
-Have someone outside the alliance to dispose of the pops ASAP.
-Make sure that mages are resting far away, or through the zone.
-Be prepared to deal with overthrow.
As I said, we made this harder on ourselves by starting off with not enough people, but it's still a challenging fight, nonetheless.
EDIT: Wiki says Overthrow can be side-stepped? lol. If this is true, the fight's difficulty would drop considerably.
So, I went to go solo Cheese Hoarder, and it turned out to be more difficult than I thought it was going to be. However, at the end it displayed some rather strange behavior.
First off, I pulled him to the teleporters, but even using them to kite around he seemed to often catch up with me (even with w.legs). I could hardly find times to bio or recast Utsusemi or anything. Anyway, eventually after wearing it down it ran off, so I waited patiently for it to come back. After about 5 minutes of it being gone, I began to wonder where the heck it was.
Soo, I went to chase after it. I finally found it running between the 2 rooms near the ???. All it did was run, and drop bombs (and link the Qiqirn). Nothing else. I figured, hey, might as well nuke it a bit, and even after a lot of nukes, it continued to do this. It started doing it around 70% and continued until I killed it. It made it extremely easy aside from the fact I had to keep sleeping / losing aggro on other Qiqirn. Anyone else have him do this?
The two "Nix" merrows on the ship at I7 are true sight, but you dont have to go on the ship, unless you wanna poke medusa at H5.Originally Posted by Wizerd
We basically used the same strategy, except we were only 2 people. Rdm kept bio2 poison 2 on to keep the NM busy at zone, and BLM nukes > zone > repeat. Healing stomp and cure IV at low HP got a bit annoying, but we duoed in about an hour. He is resistant to elemental magic, I mean , with 300 skill he was resisting almost all my spells. I suggest using + elem ( no resist with 337). 1 nuke did 800-900 dmg, which is 3% of its HP.Originally Posted by Robyn
We encountered no true sight mobs, the longer road is longer(nowaii) but easier since you don't need the extra key.
I remember it switching to iceday, I thought cool, gogo para. Never thought that'd make it go all epic-rage on us.Originally Posted by Wizerd
