Can you tell me a bit more about the fight, number of person/setup you had ?

We took an alliance down into Nyzul Isle Staging Point where we popped it, just random jobs, lots of DDs, a few blms, and a couple tanks. Numbers were mostly for safety reasons and people were just plain curious. The NM itself hit like a truck when first spawned, but after its body parts exploded and only the legs remained, it became weaker and all it did was run around without any regard to who had hate. Was a very amusing sight. Needless to say, other than just chasing it around, it was a fairly easy fight. Be careful though, when the body parts explode, it does significant AoE damage (fire element I believe), consistently around 500-800 damage. Can't recall the amount of damage the physical attacks were though, sorry.

Where exactly is this? <pos>? I walked all over and checked every ??? I could find but not sure which is right. I'd be grateful if you could confirm the location.

I have a seal from killing t3 soulflayer, it does NOT unlock t4. i speculate that you need THREE t3 seals to unlock 1 t4 HNM fight.

It may be possible you get a different seal from each of the tier 3 mobs... in your case:

Mahjlaef the Paintorn (Soulflayer) - Spawned by trading Exorcism Treatise to the ??? at <unknown>
Drops: Mahjlaef's Staff - when traded gives the ColorX Seal key item
Oracle's Brachoni

Experimental Lamia (Lamia) - Spawned by trading Myrrh to the ??? at <unknown>
Drops: Experimental Lamia Armband - when traded gives the ColorY Seal key item

Nuhn (Orobon) - Spawned by trading Rose Scampi to the ??? at <unknown>
Drops: Nuhn's Esca - when traded gives the ColorZ Seal key item

And you need all 3 XYZ key items to unlock Khimaira, either that or you kill 1 mob from the third tier of each group and it gives you a choice of which of the 3 cerb/khim/hydra you want to fight.

No pics taken (360), but my LS popped Ob last night and killed with 7 (PLD/BRD/THF/WHM/SAM/BLM/BLM). I read already that kiting was best so that's what we did, pulled it to portal room. Enfeebs and Elegy and all that jazz stuck ok. MM went through shadows and hit our Aegis PLD for a 900~ ish one, not kiting it let's it spam Slapstick and Knockout for ridiculous damage (funny thing is PLD asked why we were kiting til he stopped for a sec and got into red from him, lol). Dropped Steam Jacket, Drum Mag. and the Repair Earring, plus the 100%. I also helped a group with the Colibri one, the got it low and it charmed then and they wiped, I sac'd as PUP til they were ready to go and it didn't charm a second time.

nope, would be from a different set, lamia and nuhn would yield the same colored seal as the soulflayer

so i have to do 2 other tier 2s and 2 other tier 3s (i bought another tier2 item but going to sleep)

i repeated that because someone asked something about it that was wrong, sorry for repeat, it was for their benefit.

i got the fallow something colored seal from soulflayer, and i got the amber-colored seal from walgaru which i used for flayer. so it looks like 9 runs or so for 1 HNM, which is pretty easy, especially if you have multiple chars getting points at once. i /shouted all the fights and didnt lose a single one, so they arent that bad so far...i'd suggest pulling soulflayer to khimaira if you want to live lol

Are you sure about lamia and nuhn having the same color as the soulflayer? I find it hard to believe SE would give you a choice of fighting any of the 3 hnm. I would think you would have to aim for one from the start and complete
Tier1 -> Tier2 -> Tier3 - Tier3 - Tier3 -> Tier4 all from the same "grouping"

Is this for the POP ITEM or to know WHERE to pop? Or both? I didn't want to risk losing my Zeni otherwise

He sells you the pop item for that amount. Pop items seem to fluctuate based on who is buying or not buying them though. Example: Me and some friends were planning to get some chigre blood rings since sniper's are ugly now, so we each went to buy the pop item. First person bought for 1K, then it went up by 100 for the next person, and then +100 again after that person bought. I guess the price goes up if people are buying it, and down if people aren't - 100 zeni at a time.

Does anyone know if the soultrapper and plates from the Deep Cover campaign ops would work for this? I spam the hell out of that op, and always end up tossing multiple surplus plates and unused soultrappers.

I killed it today with a group of 8? Something like monk monk whm blm rdm thf sam idk. The fight went pretty fast, I had alliance filters up, so I couldn't see what was happening. What I do know is that it has Blaze spikes that do a ton of damage, maybe 300? Triple attack proc on my thf instantly killed me. He's kinda spammy of ag2 nukes. One of the monks used Hundred Fists and also instantly died. Not sure if spikes can be dispelled, if he casts it first, or if it's a TP move, inate ability, idk. Dropped Scythe, lost lot :/

Quite possible, but since the seals are temporary key items you might lose them on the way, either when you choose one of the HNMs, so they make you do the tier climb a total of 3 times, or losing all seals when you get the Pandemonium pop.

just to give a little perspective on this:

If you have 3 players all doing this, 10 pics/hour at ~75 per pic, you could have a cerb/khim/hydra pop in roughly ~10 hours...

75 x 10 = 750 zenni/day/person

~1500 for tier 1 = 2 hours
~2500 for tier 2 = ~3 hours
~3500 for tier 3 = ~5 hours

course you'd need to pop and everything, but its feasible that once you get in the swing of this you could do khim/cerb/hydra once every RL day or so if you are dedicated to it.

That's assuming that only 1 person needs the triggers to pop cerb/khim/hydra though. If everyone needs them, it would obviously take a lot longer.
