From what I read in that screenshot, it seemed like you'd take pictures and trade them in for Zeni (this dude's points). These Zeni would be used to buy the triggers.

you might be right, in addition to the picture of Khim (which btw, did not change with the vanadiel day, maybe JP midnight?) she also has an option of asking what Sanraku's interest is, which for me is currently vermin, particularly diremites. Gonna try to take a picture of one and see what happens.Originally Posted by Millael

It would be quite awesome if you could trade any picture (that they could conceivably ask for) in for your "points per game day". That way you don't have to sit there cycling through the options because Khim just got killed an hour ago. Worst case is that you're stuck with whatever they give you until you turn that picture in. Likely that you only get one option per game day (have to turn it in same day?).
and ditto on the zeni thing, the screenshot says that you trade in the plates for points, not the pop item itself.
Zeni, eh? How about we coin these as ZNMs?
Isn't Zeni the same thing from the Megaman Legends game or am I just buggin?
Orignial point names?
ok I took a picture of a diremite (since that was what Sanraku's interest is, not sure what the Khim thing is for) and Ryo said I could get 50 zeni for it. I traded it to Sanraku, who gave me 50 zeni for my 'account' and then it opened up the following options from Sanraku:
Locating unique fauna:
Vulpangue: 2300 zeni
Chamros: 2300 zeni
Cheese Horder Gigiroon: 2300 zeni
Brass Borer: 2300 zeni
Claret: 2300 zeni
Ob: 2300 zeni
Velionis: 2300 zeni
Lil' Apkallu: 2300 zeni
Chigre: 2300 zeni
I have no idea how to get access to the higher/harder NMs, perhaps there's another tier from taking pictures of HNMs to get more points and access the HNM ZNMs (is that what we're calling these now?). I guess I'll try to take another diremite picture and see if I can get more points, although 50 points for 4 soul plates seems like it'll be a reallllly long way before I can get any offers.
Now the million dollar question; are the drops 100%? This seems like a fuckton of work just to have a mob not drop anything.

Use points for plates and trappers.
Take pictures of specific mobs.
Trade pictures for zeni.
Pick an NM offer and pop it.
Harder NMs costing a lot of points available later?
...Ugh.
Pankration just became a grind.
Silly me giving my hopes up this update was SE changing their ways.Welcome to Final Fantasy XI?![]()
For some established HNMLs or Salvage groups, I believe Kings and Salvage are better/less 'annoying' options.
Note: I find more annoying the procedures posted on the last page than a 0/40 Deimos Cuirass, or the 3h at Aerys, etc![]()
I spoke to Ryo again after the day changed, she said the same thing for Sanraku's interest (diremites), just like the 'recommended fauna' (khimaira for me). I traded sanraku 2 more soul plates with diremite pictures, and got 54 zeni for each, bringing me up to 158 zeni. So I guess the following questions remain:
How do you access the offers for the harder ZNMs?
What does trading a picture of Khim (or the recommended fauna) get you, in terms of Zeni and unlocking offers?
and of course what they drop and where you fight them is unknown as well. I'm not really willing to get up 2300 zeni in 50 zeni increments at the moment so I'll post if/when I find out more info.
btw the other people I spoke to at the NPC and they were getting the same thing (diremites and khim) so perhaps it's server-specific, but we still don't know when his interests/recommended fauna changes.
I'll update my original post to reflect everything I got so far, please post more info if you get it
So, reading up a little more, it seems like you have two categories that you can use for pictures. The "big money" shots, which are pretty fucking ridiculous, and range from things that will get you kicked out of an assault set to things that will get you kicked out of your HNM shell, and the generic shots, which give you a lot less Zeni, but which you can do on your own time. I find myself wondering if the cheap ones and the big ones have just two base values, or if there's a wide range of points you can get for each pic.
I find it funny that SE's solution to camped HNMs is having you camp them anyway but get something out of it when someone else claims the mob.![]()
I nabbed a soultrapper and went out to kill a Qutrub. Took 3 pictures and warped back.
Was offered 53z, 67z, 70z (you trade them to Ryo to be told their value) and then gave the 70z one to Sanraku. It opened up the same list of 2300z options someone else listed. I then traded the other 2 plates to Sanraku and he took them - which I didn't expect. So I have 190z total.
I'm guessing this is like Guild Contracts, and will change each day. Though neither of the NPC's told me of any limit. Time to go back and farm more Qutrub plates! If I reach a cap, I'll save them for the next time Qutrub comes up.
Additionally, Ryo had an option about 'getting access to islets'?
"In Wajoam/Zhayolm/Caerdarva you will find strange stone tablets that emit a soft glow from their engravings. These objects are thought to be a legacy of a long lost ancient civilization. Legend says that sprinkling salt onto these tablets will teleport you to mystical islets."
There was so many changes in available options (and I'm a skimmer when it comes to text) that I don't know if that option was there before I traded plates in.
some shots are worth more than others, it seems range/direction/how much is in the shot{?} and where the monster is facing are factors, at least when he asked me for bugards.. Some were 1, others were 12, some were 8. Not sure exactly what the scheme is..
Also: 10 picture limit turn in a "day". not sure if its jp midnight yet.

If the drops aren't 100% for all the work involved I'm going to choke a bitch.
