Also interested in the Experimental Lamia fight details.
And it seems that the NM prices for T1 are 1000 minimum, 2000 for T2, in case that merits notation for anyone. Hopefully, prices stay around this range..
Tried-and-true Carbykite as a SMN? I'm interested in the ring as well and if my avatars can hold their own long enough I could probably do this with some MP meds.Originally Posted by Midnightjade
Granted, one triple-attack and I'm toast.
Chigre also has insane evasion, so using a pet would probably take forever.

Didn't have time to try, got paralyzed within 5 seconds in the fight. But I'm gonna wild guess and say yes.Originally Posted by Kayos
Damn, least you're finding the people for it. I have 4 sets pretty much lined up for it but not the people for it.Originally Posted by Jkun
Do you think it is possible to beat this in a fashion similar to fighting Fenrir with SMN?
0/3 on puk for the SMN headband ><
Assume so as well. It only lasts for like 1 min though?Originally Posted by sruon
God no. It has crazy DEF and HP. Average BLM nukes do about 5-6%, plus he can Cure 4 himself for 3-4%.Originally Posted by Meian
You CAN run it to the big room and zone hate on the telepad after grav or binding, but unless you have other's it'll go unclaimed and depop.
I recommend:
PT1: 1 or 2 PLD (Reprisal is <3), THF, DD (I was DRK), WHM, RDM
PT2: BLM, BLM, RDM
You can do it with only 1 BLM like we do, but at 50% you'll want to kite is ASAP and be as far away as you can. Fight normally from 100-50% though. Magic Mortar, as I said before, can do up to 1700 DMG close up, 200ish at 45', even if you can't SEE him and have hate it'll still hit you. Seems to have unlimited range. It will also one shot mages with Knockout at close range, and it has perma 100% TP (can self SC).
He ALSO starts to resist bind and grav the lower his HP gets, or if you take too long to kill him. Also lower HP = larger Magic Mortar damage as usual.
He's by far a very hard Tier 1 comapred to the colibri, puk, and apkallu.
We just fought Iriri Samariri. He pops 4x wartkins (small frogs) from time to time which seem to depop after 30 seconds. Sometimes he gets the ability to instant cast spells, not sure if that a normal frog ability. We didn't know how to deal with charmga with the limited space and wiped at 19% ; ; .. seems he uses that at low HP only
The instacast thingy is a normal Frog NM move, we see it in Nyzul often enough(Providence I think it's called). What do the baby frogs do, just melee?Originally Posted by Redflame
Edit: Also what was the spawn pos on map?
Sounds like a new move, Providence just gives frogs access to high tier spells like death afaik.Originally Posted by Callisto
updated the OP again with the key items from the previous page (thanks Mojo), the OP is kinda confusing with colors all over the place... I'd consider splitting it up by track but I'd like confirmation on what's required for tier4 access (even though we pretty much know, plus I'm lazy). The visio is probably a better tool at this point for having a more at-a-glance understanding of how the system works.
thanks to all who posted ;o
Soloing Chigre would be difficult outside of the DoT > Kite > Nuke method; no idea if Bind / Grav lands but I never landed a single Lullaby. Not sure if it was mentioned, but it also can inflict added effect Curse and a bad one at that, dropped our Hume Aegis PLD to like 750 max HP.
maybe i missed it (reading 18 pages in 1 sitting, everything gets to be a blur. ^^) but is there any use in turning in a "proof" item you already have the key item from? for example, i want to go back and try the lil' apkallu again because he's a s*@t faced bastard and dropped the kick attacks shoes both times we killed him. i already traded an egg to the NPC and got my key item, so is there any point in me lotting the egg again or should i just give it away to anyone who's popping an NM from a different progression?
Good question.Originally Posted by Spekkio
We started a small static, each people picked 1 item they wanted. Now, my friend wants the shoes from the Tier 2 Marid. My other friend wants DRG earring from Tier 1 Colibri. So, we popped Colibri, and gave him the 100% item, so the other guy can pop his Marid. We spend about 1-2 hours taking pics, then 1-2 hours popping NMs. If nobody wants it, just lot it yourself and you'll get access.
I've even gave away Ob drops to people who want help on tier 2 mobs, because I know I'll be doing it to the end of time and will get my 100% item eventually, lol.
I was under the impression that the seal key item was consumed when you purchased the higher tier trigs, is that incorrect?
Does anyone know if there's a cap to the lowest amount of zeni possible for each tier?
So far lowest I've seen tier 1 get is 1000 zeni, tier 2 2000 zeni, and tier3 3000zeni. So I'm going to assume this is the lowest possible, unless other people have seen lower?
Just wondering if I should hold off on buying my pop items till later or not.
Yes he takes your seal once you get a higher tier pop item.Originally Posted by Callisto
