A few people in LS fought Cheese with four (COR SCH RDM BLU). His bombs hit pretty hard (500 aoe?) and I know their COR died. He also runs around, linking other Qiqirn, so you have to be prepared to kill links fast.

From peoples' accounts, Armed Gears sounds a bit difficult, so I doubt you can duo/trio it.

if you're doing the bhaflau mob route, wouldn't the puk be easier than the qiqirn to low man?

I have BLU leveled, and the other BLM will have BLU at 75 eventually, so we want to pick up a pair of Beast Slayers also. That's mainly why we picked this route.

Edit: Also do you know their strategy for Cheese?

Puk is a bit of a nightmare for a melee pt, but BLMs do heavenly damage on it.

We got cheese hoarder down to 20% on our first try as blm blm brd, could easily win as we didn't know how to kill it really so we had a try a few methods out before finding one that worked. Pulled it to the arrapago portal and as the brd I slept the adds and warped up while the black mages kited it around the portal. When it ran the blm would bio it and I'd sleep the adds again, warp back up, and repeat.

The BLM's nuke at all, or did they just BioII/Kite it until dead?

Edit: For the Puk, would we just all out zerg it w/ 2hours and stuff? Sub NIN also?

Nuked at first but MP became a problem pretty fast so afterwards we just stuck to Bio. Also forgot to mention we had a Sam pull it, might be rough to have a mage pop it because of its large damage capabilities.

Fixed, because a lot of people we saw pop before us don't know how to do that.

We managed fine in the end with a pt of 4 melee, PLD tank and 1 BLM. 2 SMN heads out of 3. Made some people very happy.

Yeah that's basically what i meant. I melee burned it and we had no problems keeping shadows up or anything. Retard melees are just a waste for any event though.

Cheese is not tough, but I don't know about low man. You would have to kill it before the qiqirns in the adjoining rooms respawn or he will link them. I don't know if you can kill it fast enough low man. Six people can do it easily enough. Clear the 4 nearby qiqirns. Stay in the middle room and let him run around. Do damage when he comes back to you and just wait when he runs away. Rngs and mages good for this, but we did it a bunch of times with a good mix of melee too. don't run into the bombs he sets too much and you are fine. He hit me as drk for around 250, but often will triple attack.

    Low-manned this NM today as RDM/NIN, SCH/RDM, BLU/NIN and COR/RDM.

Once you pop it, move to the room on the left and keep rats that will be there asleep till you're ready to kill them (BLU and SCH can do it very quickly). Killing them prior popping is a good idea as well.
RDM/NIN should try to keep hate using Blind/Dispel/Bind, keep Bio II/III and Poison II on and buff up while main NM runs away, which will provide you extra adds to kill.

Main NM will run to the opposite room taking quite a while to come back so you have time to heal and buff up.
Utsusemi Ichi/Ni combined with Stoneskin and few occasional cures should allow the RDM to stay alive when it comes back. NM will melee you for about 10s, then it will run again.

Hydrohelix from SCH is very effective (I was landing it for a constant 120+) due constant double water weather, while Barfire and BLU roll didn't seem to help against bombs.

I think 2 RDM/NINs and a BLM or SCH would be able to do it as well, though SCH is preferable over BLM for a better MP management.

Re: New ToAU NMs (post findings here)

Working on a (freaking huge) diagram, nearly done after two days of off-and-on work. Missing a few ??? locations, and some drops from:

    Lividroot Amooshah (2)
    Reacton (1)
    Anataboga (1)
    Dea(1?)
    Gotoh Za the Remolant (2)
    Achamoth (2)
    Khromasoul Burborlor (2)
    Nosferatu(1?)
    Nuhn (2)
    Experiemental Lamia (1)
    Mahjlaef the Paintorn (1)

I'm not sure if the elemental grips count as part of Dea and Nosferatu's drops. Elemental grips seem to have dropped from 4 of the tier 3 NMs so far, and they vary even per-NM so I'm hesitant to call them the second drop, since Armored Gears was reported to drop Oracle's hands, Tomoe, and several different grips.

After I have at least the drops above and the ???s I'm missing filled out, I'll post a nearly-complete version of the diagram here. Just personal guesses based off what I think:

The 9 tier 3 NMs will drop 3/5 of the oracle's, enkidu's, and aurum sets (1 piece of each per NM), probably distributed one piece of each set per "area" (i.e. I think Nuhn will drop one of the Aurum pieces to make one of each of the set in the lamia "area" set of NMs). I also think that each tier 3 NM will drop a weapon, since there is a huge amount of weapons unaccounted for yet, compared to the small amount of armor remaining. Finally, they may each have a chance to drop some of the elemental grips.

The 3 tier 4 NMs will more than likely have two pieces of the remaining 6 from the above three sets. More than likely, one will be the body, and the other possibly the head piece. Knowing SE, they probably are not of the same set on the same mob. In addition, I'm going to predict that they will each also have at least one weapon, perhaps two, each. Finally, I'm going to think that each one will have one of the Magic, Brave, or Wise grips, no idea one which one for which mob yet.

The final mob (Pandemonium Warden?) will probably be given the Hachiryu Armor set. I say this based on the differences from this set compared to the other three (non-Ex, no head piece, new DAT design, etc). I will venture a guess that he will drop at least a guaranteed 2 pieces every time (because if you have to kill 30 NMs to get one pop of him, it better be at least that much) with hopefully a shot at more per kill. I also think he will be the source of the two staves everyone is drooling over, Dorje and Alkaurops, based on their comparative strength to the other weapons, and the fact that again, they are only Rare, and not Ex. For the same reason, I'm going to also hazard a guess at Organics possibly being in his drop pool, but that's purely personal speculation, no basis. (I hope it isn't, I want one )

I'm making these guesses based off being able to probably guess where the rest of the items in the update fall, like the Reikyo Hairpin is more than likely going to be a drop from Amooshah due to the bad breath on it. In addition (correct me if I'm wrong) but all of the drops so far off ZNMs have been Rare/Ex, no Rare ones. Most of the Rare only items added this update have either been confirmed off other NMs (Serket, KA, etc) and the others may be obtained in a similar way. I'll compile an easy to read Rare vs. Rare/Ex list of the non-found items so far, if anyone's interested in following my trains of thought.

makes perfect sense, you're probably right.

although the above SS makes me think the tier3s can drop any non-head/body piece from those 3 sets D:

We melee zerged it for the most part. Problem was that one of his AoE's (Not Wind Shear) crippled shadows and still did 800ish damage to everyone (save for SS). He didn't use it after that (Was right at the start pretty much that he used it) and mostly stuck to Wind III heal (which was 997~ heal).

Exactly what I was thinking (and figured Nuhn would drop the Aurum Gauntlets) until I saw that screen of Armored Gears dropping Sabatons... Maybe hands/legs/feet are random between the nine T3s.
