I would just like to throw this out ahead of time that if it gets confirmed that each of Tyger, Tinnin, and Sarameya can drop one piece of the Hachiryu hands/legs/feet, I will weep for joy at being able to work for legs with only a 10 NM requirement instead of 30. However, if it turns out they can all drop hands/feet or something, and legs/body are off Tier 5, that will suck horribly. I'm hoping it follows the trend of the tier 3 and 4 split (hands/legs/feet on lower tier, body/head [no hachiryu head though] on the higher tier) which would be just awesome.
duoed Walgaru:
dotted it down to 75% in hopes it's arm would break and magic damage would go up (team was rdm/sch and blm/rdm)
damage did go up but it was still horrible, I couldn't do more then 53 damage with blizzard or thunder III, and the blm couldn't break 120 damage with tier IV nukes. Before its' arm broke I couldn't do over 3 dmg with nukes. So the blm went and changed to NIN and came back.
Used rdm hate gaining spells and just let the NIN chip away at it with katanas (he said he was doing 20-50 damage a swing with berserk on, and 700ish Jins)
other then the arm falling off at 73%, we didn't see any other piece break off: even with the NIN meleeing it from 61% to 0%
was it an easy fight ? Think I can do it with my mnk/nin and a rdm/blm friend ?
What strat you used ?
I don't know if this is true or not, but this is what I noticed. Perhaps it could have just been because we were kiting, but it seemed like he would change damage weaknesses at random.Originally Posted by Cream Soda
Smn friend noticed Full damage pred claws, then dire straights, then 0 damage pred claws. Same with titan/Diabolos.
However, for all I know it could have just been them hitting it from behind, as you said...I'll test it when I get home. I have another Wulgaru pop waiting for me.
I'm probably wrong, but someone in my LS noticed it. Since it was kited, almost all melee attacks were from behind. (He was a mnk, he'd footwork for 0 0 0 0, then if Dire Straights got off he'd start hitting for full (this was WAY before 75%).
If someone is fighting him today before I get home (I'm stuck here for another 8 hours) that'd be supercools.
was pretty easy but long fight, total time for kill was 68 minutes.
If RDM knows how to gain hate (use dispel and blind when you are far enough ahead of it) and RDM will be kiting it mostly you can even just let a melee chip away at it
it moves really slow, movement speed is not required to out run this guy, we kited it around the 4 salvage portals. Move of the time I got it was either intentional (for curing myself) or me just being sloppy.
it's TP moves seem to go through shadows I think, I know it's first one (Dire Straight) goes through shadows 100% does anywhere from 200-700 damage on me (had stoneskin on, sometimes it didn't break sometimes it did in excess of 350 damage)
once it's arm was broken it started to use sinker drill, I think shadows absorb it, but I'm not 100% sure, only did like 400-500 to the taru NIN, I never got it with that move personally.
The post earlier says that once it's arm broke he was able to land 1500 chi blast, so MNK can also go that route if you want.
All and all... moves slow, hits fairly hard but not insanely hard. Easily manageable. As someone said before about Iriz Ima, "a 41 blm with utsusemi ichi and bio could solo this, it would just take along time"
edited for some speling errors, I'm sleepy
K thx for the answer gonna try this tomorrow most likely.
My apologies if this has been answered already:
I've only done the tier one nms so far.
Once you get a seal, like Maroon seal, does it disappear when you pop an nm from the next tier? I know that it is a Key item, but since it wasn't a temp key item, I wanted to make sure.
Thanks!![]()
they are temp items, and when you pop an NM from a higher tier it uses the lower tier's seal.Originally Posted by Finwich
When you choose a tier II+ item, the key item does indeed go away.Originally Posted by Finwich
I think you guys popped him right after my group did Amentis. We had the same problem. I was kicking and crit'ing for 0 damage, then 10 seconds later full damage again...no weaponskills my Walgaru during this period either.I'm probably wrong, but someone in my LS noticed it. Since it was kited, almost all melee attacks were from behind. (He was a mnk, he'd footwork for 0 0 0 0, then if Dire Straights got off he'd start hitting for full (this was WAY before 75%).

He is also incredibly easy to kite. Rdm said Gravity didn't stick once, and we were still kiting him with ease.
His body parts falling off are really odd. The group before us was mainly kiting and dot'n w/ a little bit of melee from a thf and mnk. They had the arm fall off, and last 15% or so his entire body blew up and all that was left was his feet. The feet actually looked like they were trying to get away from them but I couldn't tell for sure lol.
We just had the big arm blow up, and then we melee'd it down to 0 w/ no other appendages lost.
All we got was the Walgaru Head -_-
We got full drops on ours. Also, ONLY the arm exploded on ours. The rest of his body remained intact, all the way to 0.Originally Posted by Quixon

Regardless of my most-likely false theory, this fight is retardedly easy. Mine took 10-15 minutes tops. We just all ran over from Cheesehoarder, while our blms went and changed to samurai.
Umm sorry if it was said before but I did a search and nothing comes up except solo strat.
What strat would you use for lil'apkallu ?
Not low man or anything, we will be plenty enough normaly. How should I handle him ?
We brought Two pld/nin, and random DD, 2 whm, a rdm.Originally Posted by Kimkytaru

It's easy fight, just have the DD run away when it does AoE wings move and you're fine.
Hundred Fists: Sentinel and Reprisal. Took off like 15% of it's own health lolz.
Lil'apkallu is super easy, seeing as he doesn't link the other Apkallu.
K thx for the reply![]()
I went to trade in a friends chigre item that they gave me to unlock the t2's after chigre again so I could solo the marid for my feet (damn you not dropping what i actually want ~.~), however, the old dude wouldnt accept my Chigre drop to unlock the t2s of that path again. Anyone else had something similar happening? Seems a bit of a fucker you cant unlock higher tiers using a specific trigger more than once. Also, I had already used my marid seal to kill a t3.
We did this as well but went SCH + COR. We ended up taking a couple melees b/c of upcoming king windows and we had to speed it up but the idea still remains. I was SCH and I just kept Bio II on and spammed Dispel and Sleep II over and over until I hit 10,000 CE cap.Originally Posted by Vail
COR would just use Water Shot from the backside and land for full damage (very cool!). Double weather all times and no resists, COR would eventually take hate from 400+ damage shots. I think next time, the easiest way to reset your hate is if COR gains hate, run towards the Nyzul safehouse area, use the door, mob will see its target is unreachable, reset TE on COR, go back out, repeat.
Seems like the fastest duo would be anything with a DoT and Sleep II or Dispel, and a COR.
If you have the mages face away from Apkallu they won't get slept by Yawn.Yawn is AoE sleep, then it waddles around spazzing for 20 seconds or so.
We just stood out of range, but that works too.Originally Posted by Quixon
I'm going to assume you didn't already have the temp key item for this path, thus meaning to unlock higher tiers you have to be the one to spend points on the lower Tier Triggers. That'd be a little rough but does disrupt having mules and other players just use points up til T3 and letting 1 person lot the Items to trade for the Various seals. Prevents major spamage of T4 and T5.Originally Posted by Jodwahh
