To avoid confusion there, I was just saying that in french Numerist Pumps are hMP +3 in the description. So normal wiki and you were right, only english version has this typo it seems. ^^'Originally Posted by Gray

in light of SE saying in this most recent interview that ToAU relics were roughly as difficult as RoZ relics to obtain... that 50k alexandrite might not be a mistake at all. they could add minor alexandrite drops to other areas of the game (i.e. nyzul, etc) to make it feasible, while still not being obtainable for the first year or two.
i just hope i'm wrong.
Uh, no. Not only should most of the prerequisites be enough of a timesink to equal Dynamis Relics', at the current drop rate from Salvage, it would take more than 10 years for a single group to get 50k Alexandrite. Old Relics only require around 18k coins, and Dynamis has a MUCH better drop rate.
which is why i said they could easily add alexandrite dorps to some other actitivites to cut that time down to 2 years-ish, tack on the other reqs and we've got something that i can see SE believing is 'fairly' equal...
i do hope i'm wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least. it was one thing when we all thought they were supposed to be easier to get and less powerful than RoZ relics... sure, 50k was ridiculous - but they've now apparently tossed that out the window.
Have they? As far as I know, that's still the requirement and they've made no indication that they'd lower it. Anyway, adding more drops to Nyzul wont matter unless it far excedes Salvage's, since it's very difficult, if not impossible, to do both regularly at the same time. Even if they did, the point is the Alexandrite alone makes it more of a time sink than the most expensive ROZ relic and we don't even know if they're worth it yet.
You have to be seriously retarded to think that 50k is going to stay (or that the droprate won't be massively increased.)
LD, you're seriously retarded.

thing is, by massively overdoing the amount needed they can gradually increase the drop rates until they get them right where they want em... meaning if SE thinks it should take you 3 years of grinding to get one of their precious new relics... that's exactly how long it's gonna take yer ass![]()
I didn't say they would. However, they haven't said it would be changed and I'm not stupid enough to think SE will jump to attention to change it. I'm not sure how retarded it is to look at reality instead of a hypothetical situation, but I know that right now you'd have to be stupid to think Nyzul Relics would take anywhere near the same amount of time as ROZ's.Originally Posted by Maxxthepenguin
Nice contribution, though.
Winter, it looks to me as if they're saying it's already the same, as in ' if you take both paths right now, it will be about the same' not 'it will eventually be the same.' I suppose it comes down to how you want to see it, but since that interview is already chock full of SE's delusions, I'm going with the former.
Forget for a moment that they could have kept the current drop rate and lowered the requirement to have roughly the same level of challenge without clogging up your inventory. Alexandrite can't yet be combined like bills or arrows (iirc, even 10k can be stacked. ._.)
1UP: ...What can you tell us about the forthcoming Bahlran's weapons? How difficult will they be to obtain compared to the existing relic weapons?
MI (SE EMPLOYEE): While it's really hard to compare the two, it'll probably be about the same level of difficulty.

If that's how you wanna see it, fine, but don't act as if that's definitely what they meant.
Keep in mind that during that same interview SE thought paladins still tanked with defense and said a bunch of other stupid crap about ninja. I wouldn't take a lot of what they say at face value since they sometimes seem to be playing an entirely different game from us. I do hope the Alexandrite issue gets resolved though.Originally Posted by wintersquall
whether or not they play the same game we do, unfortunately they're the ones who shape the game world.
at any rate, i certainly don't expect them to all of a sudden see things how the playerbase sees them. i'm currently enjoying retirement from FFXI (almost 2 months sober! lolol), but my former nyzul static/LS mates want me back to get them these damn weapons >.> i'll have to wait and see how they plan to resolve the alexandrite issue.
unless they simply refrain from saying what the real deal is for a year or so. which unfortunately againk wouldn't surprise me.
they're getting better at interviews and reacting to players needs, but at the rate they're progressing it'll be 2020 before we reach a point that should be acceptable.
If it's the same level of difficulty, according to them, then there is no way you have to do all four.
It would take roughly as many Einherjar runs (~70, using 1440 per run as average) to get the 100k ampoules as it would to get the 17,000 coins (68 using an estimate that I've seen before in this thread at about ~250 coins per run)
So I can see how they get "The same difficulty" from starting from scratch, seeing how you have to get captain rank, defeat all four salvage bosses, defeat the ToAU kings, kill Odin, AND do ONE of the qiqirn's requests.
And as said before, even if they did add another source of Alexandrite, the amount of time to acquire 50k of them is just insane, and I can see them lowering it to maybe 500, which would take about as much time as all the other requirements.
The difference being that in Dynamis you'd be getting that all for one person, whereas in Einherjar you're doing for all up-to-36 people simultaneously.Originally Posted by Suteru
It's still harder to acquire and start the process of upgrading these weapons than the Dynamis relics. I'd say that's a much bigger difference between the weapons as not everyone will be able to upgrade on a whim with the Nyzul set.Originally Posted by jibini
Ok going WAY out a limb here,
SE did say that there were items out there that still had not had their hidden effects discovered yet. And to look for items that seemed to have no use.
What if the Glory Crown is made of Alexandrite (yes I know the description says dark orichalcum but bear with me)? Has anyone on this step tried either wearing the crown while talking to the NPC, or trading the crown to the NPC?
My main issue is that there must be another method to obtain Alexandrite that we just havent considered yet because I dont think SE is going to take the 50,000 requirement back.
The reason Nyzul relic stats are blank is because we're gonna have to use Soul Plates on them.
