The rotz relics cost like 17,000 average. I find it hard to believe that they would make what appears to be weaker weapons need 3x the "currency" and a long line of side-quests.

Edit: Some speculation: What i'm hoping for or maybe thinking is that alexandrite's will be like rotz relics Necrosyphe piece. Where after you turn in the eye patch and complete all the other requirements you only possibly need 1 or a much lesser number than 50k.

Usually penalties for aggro/killing gears in nyzul isle... sure hope alexandrite isn't as rare as its description suggests. As for stacking perhaps you trade him some and the number needed is reduced.

in all honesty, the npc made it sound like he needed 50000 small shards, and if you get a big gem, it's prob worth a decent chunk ;x

Perhaps the poster above has the right idea in the fact that the amount of Alexandrite you need scales down as you get the other side-quests completed.

Perhaps its a raw 50k if you do nothing else.

On LS there's 2 groups doing different zones of salvage right now. It seems that Alexandrite drops off any Machinery-type mobs. However, Ramparts are being said to have a much better drop rate, 1/3 or something. One group got 4 so far and the other 1, all from ramparts.

Maybe there is hope for a 100pc Alexandrite from bosses?
