ooh they changed the new feet gear :O
I wonder if Hakke Habaki now are better than Dune? Supposedly Hakke should be the best of the new added ones, right?

Haste works again like it should for both atk speed and recast, please read even the page you're on before you post questions...

I'm betting weapon delay and certain stats dont do jack, just like before. Hundred Fists I'll try later, but tbh I don't thik they'll stack

Dune Boots would still be the easiest and cheapest to get imo, plus I don't think they'd make the new ones better than the old, not SE's style

I have no clue why you quoted me before saying that. I haven't asked a single question on this page.

Hundred fists is still hundred fists. No kicks.

Hakke Habaki is from a tier 1 NM that is probably easier than the cactuar only thing is that it's not 100% drop. But if Hakke is D30, I'll still using dune cause the hp-10 agi evasion doesn't really help in anything.

A lot of gear... well, maybe not a lot but at least an interesting amount of gear added with last patch is considerably better than previous options, for many jobs. So I don't see why it couldn't be the same for feet gear. Even if they "only" have the same +damage as Dune, they have added stats, and would hence prove to be a better option than Dune, don't you think?

Before today they all appeared to have +25 Kick Attack rate, but no +dmg. Now the Junhanshi, at least, appear to be +25 dmg, no +kick rate.

I hope those new feet can replace Dune Boots, cause I tossed mine after I got Usukane feet, figured I'd never have a reason to wear 'em again, and I imagine that cactuar will have some decent competition with this update.

Re: Footwork - New MNK JA info

    So..

    (.11*299+3 = 32.89 base h2h damage + 18(destroyers) = 50.89 damage

    Which is better Q.Q:

Footwork: 480 delay weapon with damage of 32.89(base h2h damage)+30(dune boots):
    62.89D, 480 delay

Or dual weild 50.89 damage weapons with delay of 300...

Seems like h2h still wins out by alot.. or am I doing the math wrong?

Was a dumb move in the first place. Things are situational. Dune boots were never useless, even with Usukane Sune-Ate.

I cant think of many places that I would wear dune boots over usukane feet (before foot works update). I however didnt toss mine due to expectations on the new JA.

I am however very interested to determine if any of the formor "enhances kick attacks" boots actually stil had +25% kickattacks. If any of them still do, then I may infact switch to footwork on certain things, now that haste effects attack speed and recast. If not... fuck it.

First, not a MNK main, barely play the job at all honestly. Where exactly, before this update, would I have preferred to use Dune Boots over Usukane?

You're forgetting the Attack Bonus, the higher TP return, the higher damage on Dragon Kick etc.

Honestly it makes little sense to me to compare it to h2h in merit/xp pt, I don't think that's the reason we received Footwork, and that's why I always found it strange that the new feet gear were giving +25% kick attack proc rate.

Footwork is situational and can give us a place on HNMs or those fights with enemies who have high def, or with enemies who you don't want to feed too much TP. I can't wait to try how good it can perform on Salvage Chariots.

Im not stating its usefulness in any situation, I am addressing specifically DoT increase or decrease.

The TP increase may or maynot give me faster hits to 100% (i dont know, maybe a guru here can tell me).

I was just really looking for someone here to say wether the DoT was better, worse, and by how much. (assuming your also losing 2-3% haste from feet by wearing dune boots over usukane).

Any situations where your attack and acc may have been capped.
Zerg fights (mobs should be feinted, correct? so acc should be no problem), for hundred fists (makes a great pair with melee hose). Usukane still wins over all, but Dune Boots still aren't useless. Situational shit is situational.

I don't see how it could be effective on salvage chariots unless you're not using mnk tanks. The high delay alone means you won't pull hate easily unless your co-tank is using footwork too. As for dmg I'm pretty sure it's already been established that H2H most likely can win out over it. Most of these tests (I'll be honest I didn't look at them all) were done in merit ptys. In salvage and other endgame areas such as limbus and dynamis the mobs are actually weaker in terms of def/eva than merit mobs making it easier for a h2h mnk to do more dmg.

Salvage chariots are probably one of the few HNMs that a mnk can melee decently. In my opinion, switching from h2h to footwork in a situation such as that is more of a step backwards than forwards.

I'm sure this has been said before but I see footwork more of a situational ability like formless strikes. h2h dmg is so variable from mob to mob it can fall below a certain line that just using formless strikes would be more effective such as flans and slimes. Same thing with footwork. But unlike formless strikes, it takes more effort because of kick attack mods and DK mods. What I'd be interested to see is if using a kick attack + foot for faster tp gain and then switching to dunes for a strong DK is more effective than using straight dunes. If this has been discussed in the thread already lemme know
