Re: Footwork - New MNK JA info

7.21% vs. 13.09% crit rate looks pretty exactly 6% to me. Maybe you did like I first did and read it as 15% because Vegetto's name swapped places between the two parses?

Re: Footwork - New MNK JA info

Interesting note, with 0 subtle blow+ gear, was giving 7 tp/kick and with hades sainti, 6/kick. I had wanted to see if they would work since the crits from destroyers or the wind dmg from boreas didn't.
TP was tested by bst in my pt.

Edit: I've found a new in footwork for solo'ing. With my full subtle blow gear, I can reduce tp/hit to 4. The only downside is that if i want to kill at a decent rate, it'll require dune boots, so I lose the 10 eva from temple gaiters+1

Re: Footwork - New MNK JA info

Ive been ironing out the pros and cons to footwork

    Pros-
Increased Damage per hit and WS
TP increase from hits(around 13% per kick) and increased TP return from WS
Feed less TP to mobs you are fighting(heard a million times lolmnks dont engage all you do is feed TP)
Counters Do damage of your kicks
Double and triple attack can proc on kick attacks each yealding 13ish%TP
Kick attacks itself can proc seperatly and also yeald 13%tp

    Cons-
    Slow attacks(decreased DoT)~huge downside~
use to effect recast timers but not anymore*

Now to share some of my thoughts on how to get the most out of this new ability they have given us. first of all our Delay on attacks is about the same as 2h weapons with footwork, which isnt really taht slow, just seems like it because you are use to a barrage of punches. Now since with footwork you ahve your intital kick then you can also kick attack and double attack or triple attack in the same round, id perpose loading up on those stats that help that and avoid haste gear all together. melee hose, brutal earrings, indar knuckles, Shenlong's Baghnakhs if we ever figure out how to get them, those new boots. now when i talk about the new boots you are thinking what about the damage output lose from Dune Boots. Footwork gives us an advantage over all other jobs in the game in this aspect. We can now change out our *weapon* with no lose in TP by weaon i mean footgear. use those new boots at like a TP gain gear much like Sams. melee hose +5 kick attacks with footwork translates into a seperate +5 double attack now. so i purpose this use melee hose, new footgear, and any double attack/triple attack gear you can find, gain TP as fast as possible this way, with luck you can in 3 rounds have 100tp macro in your WS set and Dune boots and unload some nice WS, this also makes /thf a decent damage choice do to you will be able to load up on TP and SA some monster DKs without really sacraficing alot of damage in the long run

...that is just the thoughts ive been having about makeing the most out of Footwork

I was TOTALLY thinking about that but forgot to post about it.

Why do you have to fulltime Dunes if you would TP faster in +kick rate or +haste, then WS in Dunes.

Oh my god, I think I'm blacking out...

People are leaving Faf camps to kill Sandworms, the ZNM's give a way to fight fun fights for kick ass drops without camping at all, and I just suggested WSing in Dune boots... completely seriously.

The kick rate+ shoes add nothing to damage only rate. Dune boots are the only thing worth to kick in the first place.

the new kick boots do not add to kick rate anymore if you have been following. they are just gimp dunes now.

Ok about the counters yes i was wrong, though with footwork active you have a higher attack power and i may have confused the higher counter for it useing duneboots damage.

next about only useing dune boots...im talking about thinking outside the mnk box. i beleive footwork was added to expand mnks use in the game, atm we are considered DoT and used for meriting and select events endgame. footwork is to add a fast TP build for spike damage output outside of chi blasting. i would say use boots like Hakke Habaki to offer a much higher kick attack activation so you have a fast TP build then causeing spike damage to mobs we normally excluded from do to low damage output with h2h and WSs. i see it as SEs way of trying to make MNK a job that is not left behind to jobs drk sam and wars

Thought there were crafted pairs that were kung fu/wu long/dune -1's, and then Hakke which added to kick rate?

If there isn't a new pair that ups kick rate, disregard that.

Don't know about the crafted but they adjusted the ones that upped kick rate.

One of people's "complaints" was that mnk feeds mobs too much tp. Lower dmg for more kicks is doing the exactly that, more tp for mobby.

Ok, I didn't read the tread at all, but just a simple a question, if it was answered already I apologize, But does Haste affect Footwork now? I haven't played since the update since I felt it was a let down for me personally (you guys might feel differently) Monk is my soul and my life and if it does affect it, it just might be the thing to drag me back (not like Monk had anything to complain about anyway lol) just new things excite me and a let down on a new thing is kinda crappy.

about feeding TP to mobs, you miss the point. 13% tp per kick, im talking about getting alot of TP in a short amount of time, if they let wars drks and sams attack them head on we can to we give less tp naturally, now with adding more kicks is just getting 100%TP as fast as possible to unleash WSs as fast as sams with great damage as well

I must admit, Footwork with Samurai's Roll is pretty hot.

    20tp per kick All Right!

Hakke habaki adds dmg, I posted a test a couple of page back (crit 197 w/o it, 229 with it). No idea if it adds to kick rate.

You are one of the reasons people hate monks, thanks for ruining it for the rest of us.

On anything with any kind of defense, even with footwork/SATA, our WS suck, they will always suck and nothing SE will ever do is going to change that, you want epeen numbers, break out the MND gear, or go hit some Bones.

News flash MNK is still king of DoT, now we can just choose to do it a little slower.

Not a MNK, but I am the COR who used the roll for our MNK. This, if not nerfed in the next update will be nerfed at some point. Not saying it should, but our MNK was getting 100 TP before boost timer was up.

It was pretty broken, the SAM and I were just constantly Light SC'ing, We were at north mamool camp, and running out of mobs with a Gimp BLU as our 3rd DD.

I did quite a lot of 1k+ DK's throughout the party, and a 1447 (100-130tp)on a Lurker. I'd post it, but Imageshack is being a whore and not wanting to load for me

    Edit: Here ya go
