5 hit build for MNK go!?
Ha ha yeah. I was messing around with this in Limbus last night. Maybe even less if you're spamming Asuran?

I'm not a MNK or SAM, but if the Corsair's Sam Roll is dropping it down to a 5 hit build (before WS TP) Think it would be possible to even get it as low as 4 hits or so? Maybe MNK/SAM or something along those lines. Who knows might not be the best combo in the world but would be interesting to see. Though I don't see MNKs giving up Utsu or Zerk anytime soon for marginal Store TP and an otherwise useless sub lacking any offensive/defensive traits.

If there isn't a new pair that ups kick rate, disregard that.
Hakke habaki adds dmg, I posted a test a couple of page back (crit 197 w/o it, 229 with it). No idea if it adds to kick rate.
Just got Hakke Habaki and tested it. The damage to kick attack isn't equal to dune boots:

    NO boots: Crit 180
    Hakke: Crit 216
    Dune: Crit 257

From SE's update notes it says that "The additional effect of following equipment was listed as "Enhances 'Kick Attacks' effects" instead of "Kick Attacks+":" so does that mean that in the next update, they are going to change the "Enhances Kick Attack Effect" to "Kick Attack+?" So it could mean that these boots add dmg and a kick attack % and it's bugged right now and only adds damage.

I was always under the impression that "Kick Attacks +X" always and only meant proc rate, never increased damage, and that the increased damage from Kick Attacks were only hidden effects on a select group of footwear (kungfu/wulong/dune).

I've never noticed increased Kick Attacks damage from Melee Hose or Bahamut's Hose, personally, while I know the typical "It's SE" retort, I'm wondering why they would add high-level footwear that was essentially a downgrade from a widely accessible and pretty damn old piece of equipment, unless its intended effect was a hybrid of two things proc rate + damage, while being slightly less potent in each aspect.

And yet no other boots state they add kick attack damaeg. The new shoes could very well be labeled "kick attacks+" and still add rate increase+ damage.

Should be easy to test >.>

It's just that, to me, logically, the Habaki should be Kick Attacks +X proc rate as well as a hidden DuneBoots-1 damage effect. But, as I'm hearing, people are saying there's no obvious increase in proc rate like there was before the patch (before it was assumed +25?) Seems like they may have broken these boots in the process of correcting their stats and perhaps might get it right next patch.

it could be only kick attack+5 so it isn't that noticable to people.

edit: kick attack +25 is near game breaking, makes sense they would nerf it so fast.

Wouldn't it be easy to test as nin or sam wearing those with h2h and see if they kick at all? I would be I'm not high enough lvl.

I will try it once sandworm camping is over.

    edit:

NIN/MNK with faith h2h (no stones), brutal earring and Hakke. I fought two colibri, not a large sample but I had 2 DA proc and one counter but not kicks.

I think that the Hakke is DMG+ right now but it is meant to be Kick attack+, SE broke something last version update and is going to fix it in the near future. Gonna keep the Hakke to see how much Kick attack+ they are going to put on them.

If SE is really going to fix the shoes again in the near future, then they have already 'broken' the shoes twice. When they first came out, all of the new "Enhances 'Kick Attacks'" shoes were Kick Attacks +25 and no increased damage. After the update where SE brought this point up, they changed the shoes from Kick Attacks +25 to Kick Damage +25. I'd still like SE to come back and fix the shoes to say Kick Attacks +25 and make them useful again, but for now I've sold both pairs that I did testing with.

From my personnal impression, Hakke habiki works like Double atk but only for kick atk. Meaning if you kick once, hakke give you another chance to kick again, so if you dont have any natural Kick atk it wont do anything. That's how I understood it, but I think SE broke it last time, atm it doesnt seems to do anything or maybe as someone said kick atk +25 but really the difference with or without is too small to be worth it. Also you couldnt have sold Hakke since they are rare/ex.

Re: Footwork - New MNK JA info

I've never once heard of anyone kicking more than once in a single attack round without Footwork active. With Footwork active, an activated double attack or kick attack just acts like a double kick... only one will activate though, so no Footworked triple kicks. Yeah Footwork is doodoo for anything you normally melee, but aside from it being obviously good for Boost > Sneak Attack > Dragon Kicks on Ixion, it's also nice in the same situation to pair up with Store TP builds and easily get 300% TP off of a nearby 'too-weak' mob thanks to reducing DoT and getting 15+ TP per kick.

I've found it useful for other things as well. First off, I still don't have /dnc to 37, which it would frankly be absolutely fantastic for, but even playing with /dnc at 15 it has a lot of potential.
I do a lot of moderate-difficulty solos for personal amusement, especially the Saha NMs behind the Gold beastcoin door in SSG, and Footwork is absolutely fantastic. With all my haste slots miraculously freed for DEF and +evasion gear, and my shiny new Wulongs cranking out 1100-1300 Dragon Kicks, I can now comfortably solo NMs with /thf that I could formerly only take out with /nin and my NPC as backup. It's also made less dangerous mobs, like the Sea Hog and the other Mythril door NMs, that much easier to do without my NPC.

Footwork is terrible with /dnc. Much less returned with drain samba over time. Good for a subtle blow build on /nin, but for /dnc, h2h will give you more bang for your buck.

There are 7 different pairs of Habaki. 6 of them are sellable on the AH.
