Pianissimo - New BRD JA

The only thing I've used Pianissimo for is so I don't have to move.

I think everyone is missing the best part of this JA. Yes, you can stand out of range of deadly aoes. But more importantly, now you can stay up front meleeing and keeping melee songs, single target ballading the wussy mages in the back.

On a serious note, this JA works great with macro book swapping. You can have a "Pianissimo" macro that switches me to an identical macro set except all songs go from <me> to <stpc>.

This JA is pretty handy, but I really hope they consider adding something along the lines of a Fortissimo JA, either turning a single-target in a AoE, or just having a Jalzahn's(sp?) Ring effect.

I see this as a not so wise addiction and the sign of the fact players are loosing skill!
I never had problems with PLD, and I exped with PLD a lot, everyone just need to be at the correct side while I'm castin song
(and the occasional THF is not a problem too). then Aht-Urgan came and everyone forgot BRD need position to cast songs.

I think I will use it to overwrite ballad if THF gets it by mistake.
I'm so going to gavotte everyone who asks me for a pianissimo-whatever >,>

Fortissimo + Etudes.. so much potential for abuse there!

I just went through my macros, added a line and changed a line around and it works good enough.

so now it's:
/equip Range " "
/so "Mage's Ballad" <t>
/target <me>
/so "Mage's Ballad" <me>

If you have someone else targeted when Pianissimo is not active the song won't go off, but that's not usually a problem for me because most of the time I'm not targeting anyone. But I put the /target <me> part in there just in case anyway.

i changed some songs to include target then stpc, like so:


/target <me>
/ma "mages ballad" <stpc>

that way if i want to sing AOE i can just double click myself. but if i use pianissimo, i can select from the PT list.

since i 2box often either brd/nin and brd/whm or brd/nin and rdm/whm, pianissimo has been a godsend.

i dont have to move to hit the mage with ballad, i can simply hit a macro:

/ja pianissmo <me>
/wait 1
/ma song <mage>


makes things a lot easier.
