Everyone getting worked up about Numerist's Pumps need to know that it's a mistranslation/typo. They only give hMP+3. aka worthless.
Discovered when my JP friend got the drop, and told us it says +3 on the JP version not +4. A quick test showed they do in fact only give +3.

Son of a goddamn bitch. Sounds like I'm sticking to yigit unless we get another gobbiebag expansion or 2.

Volunteer's Khud is a much easier +2 hmp alt to get than Goliard Chapoo for the jobs that can wear it. Not 100% drop, and seems to be a 3-day respawn, but practically nobody goes after it.

It would be pretty much perfect if SE didn't keep bringing out ridiculous shit that's not even worth carrying around. Looking at you, Star Rings.
Yeah, that's pretty much mine for WHM, except NQ Houppelande. On RDM it's the same, but with Wlk. Tabard +1 and Duelist's Chapeau in place of Errant and Goliard. I'll be getting one of those hMP shields and switching back to Bastok whenever the stars are aligned. Er, I mean, outposts. Good news that the Numeirist Pumps are only +3, I'd hate to have these Goliard Clogs for nothing.

Good to know, thanks. I already have Goli clogs, so will take Numerist off my 'want' list from ZNM.

You call that an hMP set?? Its crap. Full yigit is CRAP. It's a waste of 60k AP.

    Hands: Genie Gages (+1)
    Back: Invigorating Cape (+1)
    Waist: Qiqirn Sash +1 (+3)
    Legs: Yigit Seraweels (+2)
    Feet: Goliard Clogs (+3)
    Total: +31 hMP

    RDM:

    Main: Pluto's Staff (+10)

    Body: Warlock's Tabard +1 (+5)
    Hands: Genie Gages (+1)
    Back: Invigorating Cape (+1)
    Waist: Duelist's Belt (+4)
    Legs: Yigit Seraweels (+2)
    Feet: Goliard Clogs (+3)
    Total: +34.33 hMP

Once i get the mace+shield it becomes,
    BLM: +33 hMP
    RDM: +36.33 hMP

2 lvl 80 discs means Goliard Chapeau won't be long now,
    BLM: +34 hMP
    RDM: +37.33 hMP

Lost lot on Oracle's Gloves the other day, but will get soon enough,
    BLM: +35 hMP
    RDM: +37.33 hMP

Don't have much else to spend gil on these days so might save for dual star rings,
    BLM: +37 hMP
    RDM: +39.33 hMP

Cost of Mahatma coming down.. and/or perhaps an Oracle's Robe,
    BLM: +38 hMP

Somewhat unlikely but would like to get a Phi Necklace someday,
    BLM: +39 hMP
    RDM: +41.33 hMP

    Re: "Best" hMP setup

I know it's been said already in this thread, I just wanted to point it out more:

    http://kingbehemoth.com/icon/16177.png
    Legion Scutum
    [Sub] All Races
    DEF:16 MP+20 Enmity-2 MP recovered while healing +5
    LV 71 All Jobs

    http://kingbehemoth.com/icon/17458.png
    Reserve Captain's Mace
    [Main] All Races
    DPS: 5.21 DMG:25 Delay:288 HP+30 Accuracy+6 Citizens of San d'Oria: MP recovered while healing +7
LV 71 WAR MNK WHM BLM RDM BST BRD SMN SCH

    http://kingbehemoth.com/icon/17457.png
    Senior Gold Musketeer's Rod
    [Main] All Races
    DPS: 5.21 DMG:25 Delay:288 HP+30 Attack+6 Citizens of Bastok: MP recovered while healing +7
LV 71 WAR MNK WHM BLM RDM BST BRD SMN SCH

This gives a total of +12 over the +10 from staves, for San'doria/Bastok citizens. Although I'm not sure if the mace works outside of Conquest areas, I've never tried.

I say again, HMP provides diminishing returns. Anyone so interested in hmp that they are considering building this combo for an extra 2 hmp over dark/plutos probably doesn't have 2 extra inventory spaces to devote to this combo (because they won't give up the dark staff for sleeps/drain/aspir, whms excepted). Might as well get an invigorating cape or antivenom earring if you're going to devote 1 inventory to 1 hmp. And if you have the room to spend, then you're probably neglecting other gearsets which are (imo) far more important.

    Re: "Best" hMP setup

Diminishing returns? I guess that could be said. Still, the ability to quickly get back full MP, switch to intermediate set for more MP, and then a full MP set, is really quite nice. I'm at 28- if I could go to 35 or so over the course of 10 ticks thats a good deal - enough to fill a Blessed Briault's bonus. I too am building a max hMP set. But I'm a WHM, maybe SCH someday, so I have lots of space.

As for the clubs- if you have one it is nice for max HP... But then again you'd probably have the Fourth Mace for the same HP and 30MP.

Oh, and benny, the Windurst citizen hMP weapon was a staff Master Caster's Pole

    Re: "Best" hMP setup

I figured I'd post my gimp hmp set up for rdm

    Head: I full time af2+1 head b/c I don't have a hmp head.
Neck: I'm lazy and don't have one
    body: af1+1 body, I have morrigan's robe, and from what I've personally found +5hmp > 1mp/tick refresh
    hands: nothing here either
    legs: see hands
feet: I pretty much full time goliard feet on rdm, except for lower floors in salvage, then I use af2 feet b/c they have mp.
earring: magnetic earring, don't have relaxing, but maybe before I quit I will get a relaxing or something else.
ring: If i could bring myself to get a friend to craft a star ring for me I could but it here, but I'm not a big fan of tier 0 synths.
Belt: Highest hmp belt in the game, if im not mistaken, lolDuelist Belt.
    Back: Don't have one.

Another thing that I would like to add that I haven't seen addressed, specifically in ToAU and WotG (lolSigil) is if you get refresh along with these, you should plug in any gear spots that don't have hmp on it with whatever you can that has the most mp. When I leveled bst, I was unfortunate enough to not have a Gaudy Harness (sp maybe), so to help offset this problem I would throw in gear that had +mp on it to keep the auto-refresh from sanction going then macro it back out when I had sufficent mp. This can greatly influence how fast you get mp back vs not doing it. Ultimately though, from testing 2-3 extra mp refresh (hat, robe, sanction) vs a hmp build, from my personal exp. hmp is better. I disagree that hmp offers diminishing returns, granted it maybe be marginal per each +1hmp, but when you begin to stack it, it makes a tremendous difference.

Don't make fun of the 1hmp items >:( sitting at around +32hmp on my blm, and every single inventory space dedicated to my hmp set is well used imo. I also carry around full enfeebling, dark/haste, stoneskin, and some important elemental gear, and a bunch of misc stuff, and I don't really have inventory problems on my blm >_>

Also, I'd totally buy star rings if they weren't so retarded to get synthed.

There is no diminishing return. You get +2mp out of 2hmp all the time. No?

i think he meant hmp vs inventory space and feels that 1hmp isnt worth a whole slot. yes diminishing returns was the wrong way to phrase it

    Re: "Best" hMP setup

Yep, it's a static increase. I'm assuming that guy is getting confused between diminishing returns and the fact that the MP gained every tick is cumulative. However, whilst I am a total hMP whore myself (+34 on BLM) and frequently advocate the importance of a good hMP set I can understand the argument behind giving inventory space for other pieces of gear higher priority than items with 1 hMP on them, hence why I refused to ever attempt to get Star Rings after they came out and why I'm considering scrapping my Invigorating Cape.

For BLM I certainly won't be lugging around a hMP Club + Legion Scutum, however I might for WHM seeing as Templar Mace + Legion Scutum is now the optimal weapon/sub combination for Cures I-lolIV.

    Re: "Best" hMP setup

I sit at +32 hmp in gear, and usually use wizard cookies as smn, and my overview of the new gear makes oracle's set, aside from feet, the new +Hmp set. the pieces in general are alot easier to get than other counterparts, aside from maybe volunteer's khud, but that's debatable. For smn, oracle's pants are +1 inventory compaired to using marduks for skill and yigit for hmp, which is ironic considering oracle's is much easier to get over both.

a maxed out smn build, with food, is +49, the hardest pieces to get look to be the star rings, phi necklace, and oracle's robe.

diminishing return on +hmp isn't on a per tic bonus. its on how many tics total it takes to get to cap. in situations where you rest for only a few tics and don't cap out, max hmp is best, but if you are resting to full repeatedly in some situations, if you reach cap in the same amount of tics wearing +31 or +34, its best to save inventory and rest to full every time.

For myself on BLM, I use the following setup:

    Main - Pluto's Staff (+10)
    Head - Wzd. Petasos +1 (+1)
    Neck - Grandiose (+2)
    L. Ear - Relaxing (+2)
    R. Ear - Warlock's (+1) <--- Need to replace with Magnetic or Antivenom
    Body - Wzd. Coat +1 (+5)
    Hands - Genie Gages (+1)
    Waist - QQ Sash +1 (+3)
    Legs - Wzd. Tonban +1 (+1)

Total = +26, Far from perfect, but it works for me for long-haul healing. While I don't have any Yigit gear as of yet, my thought would be that full Yigit (w/ refresh effect) would be more suited to short turn burst resting (get a few mp and get back up), where a pure hMP build is designed for long-term, get your ass back to full MP rests.
