Kimbo is a fucking monster. I enjoy those street fights he does where the person actually thinks their gonna take him down. Then 2mins later they give up and kimbo barely broke a sweat.

Kimbo is a good bare knuckle boxer, but not a good MMA fighter.

He should have lost his last fight (but the ref. was an idiot) but barely escaped with a victory... That was against someone who had lost 8 of his last 10 fights.

When Kimbo fights someone who isn't retarded he will lose for sure (he's already lost to Sean Gannon). Nevertheless I enjoy watching his fights, and think he's a pretty talented guy, just isn't made to fight in MMA.

Eventually they're going to pair him with somebody who matters, and he'll lose. He's nothing more than a sideshow freak. But since people like sideshow freaks, they're going to promote the shit out of him and make as much money off him as they can. As soon as he stops drawing new faces or the hype dies down, they'll throw him into a real fight and he's going to get a brutal reality check.

I have nothing against the guy, btw. He seems nice enough. It's just irrirating knowing there's hundreds upon hundreds of way more talented MMA fighters who were stepped over to get this guy into the ring.

Another question regarding that..... The English dude he fought had the jacked up cauliflower ear prior to getting in the ring. Can't you drain that prior to the fight?? I'm pretty sure on an earlier season of Ultimate Fighter one of the guys drained out his cauliflower ear a few days before the fight.

Yes and no. If the fluid inside isn't hardened then yes you can get it drained, but once it hardens, you have to have surgery to repair the ear.

C. Ear is no joke. A buddy of mine who wrestled for VT a while ago had it so bad that the fluid started leaking back into his head. They had to rush him to the hospital to reconstruct his ear. Fucking gross.

Dude Kimbo fought had the worst I've ever seen. Kimbo punched it and the dudes ear exploded lol. It looked like a small tumor on the side of his head.

I'm glad they stopped the Kimbo fight. That ear was nasty to look at and Kimbo did say he was aiming for that ear again. Another strike would have popped that sucker off, that would have been on national TV and really bad for the sport.

How can you say he would have LOST the fight when there was a stoppage in his favor. Sure he was probably down in points due to takedowns, etc...but to say that he didnt have the upperhand in that fight is a little ridiculous. Sure it was a premature stop...but probably only by 5-20 seconds depending on if he continued with those combination. It was a lackluster fight, but I don't think there's any question as to who won the fight.

Thompson got rocked the same way in the first round I think it was, and he managed to shoot Kimbo for the takedown and recover. The only difference on the final stoppage was that the dudes ear was bleeding, albeit pretty badly.... but it was still a pre-mature stoppage.

The difference between letting it go another 20-30 seconds, and stopping it prematurely could have very well been to Thompson's favor regarding another take down and recovery.

I still want to know why that cauliflower wasn't drained. Didn't seem to me like it was a solid mass, considering how bloody the side of his face was when Kimbo popped it.

just not even gonna bother commenting on kimbo's talent...or lack thereof. the ear question...yes he should have had it drained. your ear cannot possibly get that big without you draining it. he drained it the day before...but he hit it in warmups and it filled back up. he'll more than likely have to have surgery to repair it.

I have nothing against Kimbo, its obvious why he is the main guy of elitexc because if they want to make it he is easily their top draw, so if elitexc wants to stay afloat they need kimbo. Of course he isn't a top 10 fighter, but that should be obvious from his background, age and time spent training so saying he wouldn't last a round with a real top 10 opponent means next to nothing to someone who knows a bit about mma. So, sure he doesn't 'deserve' to be a headliner of a card, but outside of the ufc title holders who are well known are hard to find so you have to go with who is most well known if you want more then the hardcore fans to watch your event, and kimbo is that guy.
