Might be interesting to see how the 71 def pans out. Not that it would be extremely useful. But in Zhayolm especially, you don't get other equips till 2F (if you do 1F that would be ~20-25 min later).

granted, but it's pld/drk only. a drk would have a 2 hander on, and how many pld do you bring to zhaolym? interesting thought though.
We know the latent trigger?
Other wiki says the trigger is not wearing any armor. Basically you can only have the top row equipped (main, sub, ranged, ammo), but all other slots must be empty.
most DRKs with ridills I've seen usually use that first floor, could be nice in that case
SE making gear specifically for the "shit is situational" quotes now.
Next mob in the design tube...strippers that take off only your clothes instantly all through the fight.
(Different from lamia that strips everything)
i think u cant use weapon either for latent to be active
From the 5 minutes of testing we did, you could have weapon and ranged, but nothing else for the latent to work. Strangely, saying "I bet if you take off your pants it'll work" ended up being more true than we thought...Originally Posted by SamanosukeShiva
EDIT: Then again, the guy using it was the person in our group that still needs to ask which portal to use for salvage after a year, so take that as you will.

It works with weapon. I wasn't impressed in SSR so I just dropped it and went back to Januwiyah.
I've actually been running a Salvage group for over a year, and I still have to askOriginally Posted by Augiezwan

the way i remember is, if you trace a line through them alphabetically, it makes an X shape with a line where nyzul is. probably not the most orthodox method, but it works for me.Originally Posted by Ambir

All you have to do is think about where each region lies on the continental map. It fits and makes directional sense. Reef is in the northwest, bhaflau southeast etc. It's not complex.
If you really can't remember, you could always do something crazy like mark it on your map.
Oh, it's on my map... It's just that I'm usually organising stuff from Whitegate, and therefore can't see the map till I zone to Nyzul. There's often tells and LS/party chat going everywhere before a run, and I miss stuf by zoning.Originally Posted by Bakthi
I didn't bother testing it in Salvage, because I'd never go PLD there. But I wanted to see how much it would block in general with such high defense on the shield. Compared it to a Koenig shield on Lesser Colibri, and it blocked 15-20 more damage. The way I tested it was a bit biased towards the Riot Shield though, I was mostly naked with the Koenig Shield on, I just put on a few pieces of gear to match my defense.
Another interesting side effect of the Riot Shield was Reprisal values were double the damage I was taking. I would take 8 damage after the block (no sentinel or phalanx or anything up), and I would reflect 16. I'm guessing reprisal isn't taking into account the latent defense bonus to the shield block value.
I still tossed it when I was done, but it was fun to try out nonetheless.
I loled at that since it's only common sense to do this.Originally Posted by Bakthi
