After my first conversation with a chat "analyst" that told me to subscribe to "Game Invasion" if I wanted to play any online games, I had this enlightening chat with another "analyst".
I can't wait to enjoy browsing other websites than my MMO. >.>Haidee > Is it slow internet connections?
Robert_ > It's connection errors, actually. I play using three accounts of Final Fantasy Online, and the two that were not already connected cannot connect now.
Robert_ > Normally, I would think it was a game-related problem, but there are dozens of other users I speak with who all run Comcast that are currently having this exact same problem.
Robert_ > I was wondering if it might have anything to do with the new upload speed / server migration that Comcast is doing today.
Haidee > I do suggest that you follow these preliminary troubleshooting steps:
1.) Bypass the router. Please check on the wirings if it is properly connected to the cable modem and the computer.
2.)Do a complete powercycle. Turn off all devices and wait for 15-30 seconds. Then turn back on starting form the cable modem to the computer.
3.) Optimize browser by deleting cookies and temporary files. Open a browser and click on Tools then Click on the internet options and choose general tab. Then click on delete cookies and temporary files then click on apply and ok button.
4.)After doing it and you are still experiencing the same issue, I do suggest that you chat back to us or call in at 1-800-266-2278 and we will be happy to assist you with this and to further check on your connection.
Robert_ > The one reason I do not believe that is part of the problem is that I currently have one account logged into the game.
Robert_ > It seems to be an issue of either dropped packets or blocked DNS entries. I was hoping for some kind of confirmation that network infrastructure changes are taking place today to accommodate the faster upload speeds.
Haidee > Please hold on I will check into your problem.
Haidee > Your modem is working fine.
Haidee > I will issue a modem reset in my end.
Haidee > Kindly hold on.
Robert_ > I have all the time in the world.
Haidee > I would advise you to contact to your game server so as they can help you on this matter. It is because there is no problem in Comcast side. You need to reset your modem and do those basic trouble shooting in increasing you speed.
Robert_ > I just got off the phone with my game server. They said it is a known issue with Comcast-only subscribers and to contact you.
Robert_ > I have reports on two different game forums for Final Fantasy all saying two things: One, they are all Comcast subscribers.
Robert_ > Two: That this is now a "known issue" that Comcast engineers are working on.
Robert_ > I just read that about two minutes ago. I can give you the link to the transcript from the Comcast chat if you'd like.
Haidee > Since you said that there is a known issue regarding connection to games. I would advise you to wait for sure our Engineering team is still working on this problem. I do apologize for the inconvenience.
Robert_ > Yes, I plan to wait now that I have confirmation from a Comcast representative that there is a problem related to network updates that are being implemented today.
Robert_ > Would you like the links to the transcripts I have in case you get another Final Fantasy user asking for help?
Haidee > I appreciate it, Robert. You are such a knowledgeable perosn.
Robert_ > http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?f ... 398;page=2
Robert_ > viewtopic.php?f=2&t=34799
Robert_ > I hope that helps.
Haidee > Thank you very much for all the inforamtion.
Haidee > I do hope you enjoy browsing site in comcast.net, please click Help and then place the specific topic you want to search in the box.
Robert_ > Thank you.
Haidee > If you have any more questions feel free to to e-mail, or you can chat with one of our Online Customer Support Specialists 24 hour a day, 7 days a week at http://www.comcastsupport.com/chat
Haidee > Thank you very much, Robert. Have a great evening! Please do enjoy browsing other websites.
Seattle, Comcast, PS2; happened to me after I logged off a mule this morning, tried to log back in on my main and got the 0011 error. After trying again five times I tried shutting everything down and resetting the modem (my PC was having internet difficulties too so I figured it was just another one of those lovely random IP changes they like to throw at me). Well, it fixed my PC but now I can't even log into POL -at all-. It hangs on the version check then gives me the 1160 error. Fucking missing sky because of this shitOriginally Posted by Indalecia

Our problems here are between both PCs and the PS3. No Xbox in this house, so no way to check that. The PS3 was connected fine when all this started, but silly me assumed I just needed to reboot the router and modem. After I did that, the PS3, before disconnected, came back from red dot, but about 3 minutes later, disconnected with an error message concerning the connection route.
Seconded about the CSRs - some of them are awesome, but I am seriously sick of the fact that half of them don't know what the fuck is going on. I swear you can talk to three different techs from the same building and they will all say something different.
this is bull shit.... >.> MN comcast can't log in pol or anything >.>
Comcast, Fresno CA. Same shit. Blargle.
Spoke to a customer service representative who was completely helpless. I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was put on hold for ten minutes and the same person came back and said the supervisor was busy. I said I would wait, and he said "Fine, one moment." On hold for about fifteen minutes that time, he came back and said that the supervisor did not have time to answer my call. If there was nothing else, he had to terminate the call. I was very polite, I was not rude. I just simply asked to speak to his supervisor since the customer service representative kept telling me there was nothing wrong. I asked for his name, and number, and he just hung up and said have a nice day.
I live in an area that had a WONDERFUL ISP, never had any issues what so ever. It was called Insight Communications. They were always helpful, polite, and fixed anything that ever went wrong right away with people who knew what they were doing. Comcast bought them out in my area back at the beginning of this year. Ever since, we have had lots of problems with our connection, they raised the prices, and lowered our connection speeds. If we had any other option, I would take it, but we don't.
Back on topic, I hope they fix this soon, if it's not fixed by tomorrow, I urge you all to contact PlayOnline. Maybe if we complain loudly enough to them, they will put pressure on Comcast, at least I can hope right?

Dear Comcast,
Now that we've done the Mr. Magooing for you, please have your engineers allow traffic to 61.195.56.218 so we can go about our business and the engineers can go back to sleeping behind the racks.

Call them back, tell them to call the MI guys, because they don't have a clue.Originally Posted by fallenleaf

When I tried to tell my CSR that the problem is blocked ports/dropped packets/something of that sort, he INSISTED that Comcast does not do any such thing. Lawl. He didn't have a clue.

Until Comcast gets fixored?
NJ here, I fucking hate those Comcast fucktards. They've been screwing with our internet and cable connections for the last week or so.
360, PS2, and PC all can't connect. This shit is reminiscent of the fucking Optimum Online outage back in 2004... I had to deal with that shit then, and it was something freaking retarded like some random server out in the midwest or some other bullshit.
This shit better be fixed by the time I have Limbus tomorrow, I'll be pissed if I miss a Proto-Omega fight because Comcast is run by a bunch of fucktards.
Yes, I am angry. I wait with bated breath for Verizon Fios to finally be available here.

South central Indiana. Insight had it's faults, but after dealing with Comcast for years before moving here, Insight was a godsend. It was nice calling a local number, getting local tech support, and having a good deal on 10MB service. Comcast comes in, takes over and right away we went from having outages only when storms our power outages happened, to having issues all the freaking time. On-Demand works only half the time, and we were without internet/cable for a week at one point because they changed something in one department without telling another so my whole street was without anything. Oh yeah, and I had to pay to have them come out for that when it was their fault to begin with because they said there should be nothing wrong so I had to pay for wasting their time.
I don't even want to get started on their whole billing fiasco when they took over our area... No bill for three months then you get a notice your about to be disconnected because they fucked up, even after I called and tried to pay every month, but there was no amount due.
Comcast, FL. I put a note on ffxiah.com
I remember something similar happening in WoW I think, certain comcast subnets worked and it took over a month to get resolved. Blizzard said it was Comcast, and Comcast said it was Blizzard.
