I used to have Insight in central Illinois as well before I moved. Comcast finally bought them out too, huh (Urbana region)?

Yeah, Comcast bought out insight not too long ago. Though I had a brief moment of not being able to connect earlier.. restarted my PC though and fixed it.. I figured it was just a weird problem with POL since my PC had locked up beforehand.

Seems that any secured connection is being blocked. One of our members has tried, and we have determined they are blocking pretty everything but port 80.

<.< So nice having someone who knows this shit with us.

3389, 1724, 443, 25, 21, 22 all work jsut fine for me.

Anything at hotmail.com however does not. msn messenger seems to be in a statis and opening the website just times out

My MSN is working perfectly fine. Hotmail, though, is taking about ~30 seconds to load up, but it is loading up. :s

I'll be honest. 99% of the time Comcast is great for me. Fast, reliable and even stays on during storms unless the power itself has gone out.

But it's times like this, when there's no -natural- reason for a problem (read: Comcast says, "We screwed up!") that really gets your goat.

I have my connection fine (though I had a rare outage last night, go go S. Korea high speed ^^), but I'm afraid the other members of my Nyzul static might be having this issue... Nobody on yet and only 20 min till we start... we too are in the 80s...

That VPN whatever it is is working for me. Quick to download, quick to install, just have to open the program and then connect to POL.

Just got off the phone with them again. I got lucky this time. My Tech was a WoW player, so he at least didn't laugh me off the phone and had a rudimentary understanding of MMO mechanics. I explained to him how POL functions and I had him run traces on some of the POL IPs listed in this thread. He got the same results with timeouts when it hits FFXI servers. He actually had me on hold for quite a while trying to find info on the problem. He couldn't find any information.

Ultimately, though, he couldn't help, as he is just on little phone tech. He did write up a report to go higher up and have higher level techs start addressing this problem. I specifically mentioned the people in a frenzy across the country going through their MMO withdrawals. He noted in his report that this appears to be a nationwide problem and that people all over are having these problems.

With any luck, someone will see it an take it seriously. God help Comcast if I miss both salvage runs tomorrow. They already made me miss one on Sunday due to weather related issues (read: we had a fucking thunderstorm, oooooooh, big whoop).

what it does is it creates a tunnel from your computer out to their servers, bypassing everything that is fucked up at comcast (such as their dns servers).

This is indeed a viable solution though hopefuly you dont need this again later, looks like its a free trial
