Soooo...I downloaded the Flash update from the link in the OP, and it immediately borked my work PC...as soon as update finished installing my PC started making weird noises and running at like 1/4 speed, and is constantly freezing up for several seconds at a time, was running fine before the Flash update. Any ideas?

ok i installed firefox/noscirpt/flashblock but now ffxi wont open. says it fails to run direct3d. any ideas?

iirc that is a file that is directly attributed to DirectX, something appears to be blocking it. Find the source of that and you should be good to go.

I monitor my linkshells forums as well. Been using a older version for about a month because I'm holding out for a update in this theme we use, which I would update myself but its extremely modified and all the echo tags which I use as search points in updating are in Russian >.<

Even though it doesn't seem like they go after small fish. Makes me paranoid into updating once I'm home from work. To hell with the theme now. Once the admins are done if they have some time some of us running phpbb sites would love some tips in increasing security.

I was browsing last night at 4:30 AM EST. I know you said that it was noticed at 5:00 so I'm concerned if there were vulnerability issues prior to that. I do have NoScript and AdBlock so I think I'm safe, but just to be cautious.

This is ridiculous that we need to worry so much about this. I'm sure they are making obscene amount of money off of this, so why not go after these assholes. It's no different than fraudulently using someones CC info to make purchases (which they do anyway to server transfer us); just harder to get caught, I guess.

we have located the origin point of the attack and plugged the hole they used to attack our server. This is not to say they cannot find out another exploit to attack but as of now we are in the clear. We will be re-adding skins once the old ones are completely deleted and new fresh copies are downloaded.

I apologize for the inconvenience, however we caught this issue fast and it was dealt with even faster. Thank you for your support and I apologize for natural selection running its course for those of you who have not been keeping yourself updated.

Ok I have updated it anyway, thanks for keeping us safe and informed.. and just to clarify, the exploitees DNS was expired, so it shouldn't of done anything regardless, right? (Sorry, just making absolutely sure ; ; )
