    Re: Beastmen running wild, Mk.2

Or you could just put a hard cap on a single healing spell... something only a SCH could reach with their insane NPC healing hax.

EDIT: The idea of requiring to get enmity from an actual monster once before gaining any points from healing/buffing/self-target/other-people-target actually works really nicely. It would kill most simple bots at least. Doesn't put an end to spamming spells though... but! with the one tag per campaign rule, it will put an end to most cheesing.

Actually I capped at Holyknight in Windy as soon as you possibly could, held the medal for months, got bored, changed nations, did various storylines, lost interest in Campaign some, and just recently came back to spam in Bastok.

If you want to actually be useful and still pretty much spam for points, go /THF and just use SA/TA every 60 seconds even if you're not in a position to use them or fight. 40 XP / minute topped onto whatever you already are getting for everything else for actually participating. I like to go as BLU/THF and stand in a protected area, such as the bridge/2nd floor thing over the main area in Windy Waters (S) and CA(when available) - SA Cannonball yags from up there. Safe and easy XP. Can do decent damage on any non-NM even without CA, aslong as you keep Cocoon up. And if a mob starts running for the stairs to come get you? You have plenty of time to react and hit Flee and run somewhere safe like back between the two buildings outside the cooking area. If you want to really get your hands dirty or you're needed to get up close and personal, you can also go down and start CA/SA Vertical Cleaving guys for 600-1200 depending on whether or not you had CA, your TP when you do have CA, mob buffs, etc.

I'm unsure if this would work as well in Bastok or Sandy though. Maybe the 2nd floor of the "AH" area in South Sandy (S)? I've been to South Sandy (S) all of like 2-3 times since WotG opened...

Apparently they do cuz I can't get that much going nin/dnc and always tanking at least 1 mob the entire time while spamming heals and putting out good dmg.

I'm about ready to do the same thing, it's retarded how crappy the exp is for just going into a damn battle and owning shit up.

Every HP healed is contributing to the actual success of the campaign and it's really too hard to abusse to mean anything.

    - Make the cap for buffing higher, but still keep a limit. This way leechers and botters will have a cap anyway, limiting the abusse. Ofcourse, it'd be better if there was a cap per spell type, but this is likely too complicate for it be possible under this system.
and then scholars won the game
I don't see the problem? they'd still be subject to the same total xp cap over time, like everyone else, mages would just have more incentive to actually reach that cap via healing, I don't know how things are on your server, but on Remora, mages not giving a shit about curing/raising/buffing etc. others is actually a very real problem, and they have zero reason to do so beyond being nice, which from my observations isn't a dominant trait amongst remorans. killing the cure specific camp and letting mages cure their way to the time cap would be almost only positive, who the hell gives a damn if SCH can hit that cap quickly, then afk the rest of the campaign while the timer catches up, they'll still need to spend long enough in the campaign to actually have it count?

I like that enmity idea btw, could lower abuse quite a bit.

Cap cures at 5000(6000, 7000 if you want to be nice) HP per a single cure(curaga). Problem solved.

On Asura, Sandy not only withstood the update, we're taking it back!

Sandy, E-Ron, and Jugner as of Sunday.

Besides that Bastok - 1, Windy - 1, Beastmen - all the rest.

I dont think towns can be taken, it seems like the worst that could happen is beastmen in all zones with the 3nations fighting a deadlocked battle on the homefronts until the tides shift.

    Re: Beastmen running wild, Mk.2

With an LS friend, we had to pull Shadowhand off the Bastok Markets [S] fortification and down to a mob of 20+npcs at the entrance to bastok mines. Everyone in the zone was either dead or beating on the elementals for exp Beastmen so far have a tiny bit of red on the influence over bastok markets, but with more battles where the people just let the NM wail on the fort....I can only imagining losing Bastok Markets [s] very soon

Is there any idea what might happen if we lose that? Right now i guess its no warps to other areas if your bastokan (only from forts -to- bastok). No campaign gear from bastokan npcs...mm....anything else?

Mog House probably gets closed up. I was surprised you can enter your mog while the town is under attack. I was expecting those gates to come down and lock you out.

I've yet to see a city campaign, bastok holding fine on pandy. But so far campaign "upgrade" surely have spiced things up.

In all seriousness, I've gone from being an Accession whore to just playing for myself. Dropping mass Cure 4s or buffing an entire group in AOE range with Prot4/Shell4 just doesn't go the distance compared to nuking bastards from orbit. I don't mind raising a whole group of people who just got their asses handed to them by Shadowhand. But the reward for keeping them alive compared to blowing the shit out of Shadowhand makes it not worth it.

yea... this is true. I've gotten much more exp on my blu than I'll ever get on my blm or sch it just blows. There's no real incentive for people to go mage to campaign unless that's the only job they have.

This really sums it up: magic should be rewarded, the happy nuking blm doing considerable damage, the whm spamming cure and raises, the sch or smn buffing others like crazy should be awarded the same points as the other melees. Any 33 whm can help more actively curing/raising people than botting 2k/hr next to the campaign guy.
The xp system that is in place in Besieged could be really nice for Campaign, melees often get shafted there because enemy mobs are considerably stronger than campaign ones (in terms of eva/def).

On topic: on Valefor San d'Oria ROCKS! We kept Ronfaure after the update and after tally we got Vunker, Jugner and Batallia back, while windy and lastock still grasping trying to defend their cities.
I've seen many san d'orians fighting in other nation's areas... I really wish those regional influence bars to show who really is earning points in the past areas, would be nice to look at a red campaign map :D
