I'd actually bow, since you're pulling a mob off the forts and keeping it busy without me, then go get another to solo, and continue getting new mobs every time you pulled them.

i never go to campaign on anything but SCH so generally, people cut that shit out long before i run out of MP

i don't know if it's the distance causing it to lose aggro, or because a purple mob with missing HP is irresistible, but the mobs pretty much never come after me

Once someone pulls a mob off me, it's not my problem, I run off and get another, I always keep a store of finishing moves so if something does come for me, just run and spam gravity in kite mode til I find npc's to brush them off on.

Only mob I've ever had come after me after a randomly long time was Shadoweye.

    "HAY MAX!"

'Oh... uh... hi, thought we already had this talk, I'm just not into you.'

"YOU BROKE MY HEART MAX!" *Shadoweye begins casting Firaga III*

Barfira reduces Shadoweye's damage ga damage drastically probably since it is considered a "low level" mob.

Likewise Baraera reduces that Yag BLM's nukes. Barstonra resists Shadowhand Cuirassier's nukes...etc etc

If you are rdm or whm, barsleep will resist most of the sleeps cast. Much less effective if /whm or /rdm.

So basically bar-spells work in Campaign.

Back to good news on Pandemonium! After 3 weeks of siege, Windy successfully fought back and took over Fort Karugo. Time for Bastok and Sandy to have fun being attacked like mad.

It helps to /sh and ask people to adjust tactics to attack, although I only did it once. But it seems people are all thinking the same.

    -------
    Other observations:
    1 city under siege = 24/7 non-stop campaign
3 cities under siege = Longer rest periods between city campaigns.

-> This is due to the frequency of the attacks from the Shadow NMs and mercs. More cities to attack = Less often

This was one reason why Windurst was able to take back a zone.

And stop the NPCs from suiciding during attacks. -> if you arrive before the NPCs do pull mobs into their movement path to let them duke it out. It delays their death and may actually bring about a win.

I'll have to agree on the Paladin in Campaign outlook. When I'm actually on Paladin instead of Samurai most DD's will just kind of flock to whatever mob I'm working on. The irritating thing about being a Paladin in Campaign is when I'm out of MP and slowly dying(even while /Nin) and Mages do nothing to cure etc. They stand and melee the mobs. So if I die because of things like that, as soon as I reraise I pile on my DD gear and bust out my Algol.

If you're not curing me when I'm dying, I'm not tanking.

SE hasn't addressed issues with campaign as far as this craziness is concerned. We're going to be dealing with this for a long time. I'll continue to do campaign for as long as a lot of people are. Less people = harder to fight mobs in campaign. Once the number of players drop - forget it, it's not worth doing anymore. And people stay in cities because LEAVING the city = potential of losing it. It's like we have no choice but to defend the city all the time.

That interview tells us exactly how to deal with the craziness, and it works too. Alexander had constant battles in windy and bastok since the update. But, after that interview a lot of people stopped telling the NPC they liked leaders that were defensive and picked offensive ones. They also selective more aggresive tactics for policies. Since that interview, bastok took a zone and is now reclaiming all but CN. Windy didn't take a zone, but is constantly attacking other zones now and battles within the city are less frequent with the yagudo defending zones. SE also said people's suggestions have a lot more influence then we think, so you probably do not need an entire server to change the policy enough to help.

I would rather players fixed this mess by doing more then using campaign to bot XP, then have SE just nerf mobs again, then buff them when we complaina gain, then nerf again.

Quoted for muthafucking truth. I've had Flare II's from Shadoweye not even breach my Stoneskin with Barfire up, which was a relief considering I was under a Sleep spell at the time. It may be tough to guess what the regular units toss, but NM's tend to be much more elementally predictable, like a certain staff-wielding maniac's Sleepga II -> Thundaga III's.

/DNC has that sweet, wonderful TP = HP equation going for it. /RDM actually lets you lob a few debuffs + Phalanx. /BLU is just turtle-licious. That the mobs are L50ish actually means subjob stuff has a respectable chance of landing (say, a Step.) too.

I've landed steps on sky trigger NM's and Aura's, they're based on weapon accuracy.

Now, /Rdm debuffs is all about it being lvl 50ish mobs.

I guess I missed that part ;o. I'm gonna try that out when the NPCs become available in windurst.

    If ever .

    Summary being:
*Ops can somehow raise strength of medics
*tactical assesment has a larger effect than it may seem.
*When a city is attacked, it directly hurts their war funds and technological power (prosperity).
*By taking back an area into their control, they can once again store up war funds and make a recovery.
*repeatedly doing soldier training in Campaign Ops will raise the average strength of your soldiers.
*if you perform Ops related to fund-raising and procurement of goods, those things will be improved.
*Specific units that win get stronger, and specific units that lose get weaker.
*when soldiers return home victorious and level up, training them vigorously is a big part of strengthening them.
*The Beastmen Confederate can send turrets out when they have the spare resources, it takes a lot of funds.
*Turrets use changes from week to week, one week they may appear, and the next they may not.
*Success of recon units raises likelyhood seige weapons appear.
*Certain Ops can appear/disappear because of funding.

In some cases, I can actually outrun mobs to the point where they deaggro completely, go yellow, and start heading back. In Windy, you can often switch maps and lose many mobs running towards the sealed entry to Windurst Walls.

In field defense fights, I frequently jack the NM in a wave and do just that, kiting him till he starts building too much Gravity resistance, just let him go back in, then just hook him again if at all possible. Disrupting a wave is often the difference between defenders tooling the beastmen and being torn apart piecemeal.

In cities, it's generally better to tow the offending monster to an unoccupied NPC unit and let them gang up on the guy minus the rest of his friends, who are usually occupied with whatever they were aimed at. Frequently, there's a pile of NPC's just sitting in Sandy at the far end (opposite the Mog House), and it never gets boring getting Deathlord or Shadoweye or whoever down the mostly empty street to the end, sitting down on the steps behind all the NPC's, and watching the bugger get raped.

I suggested diversionary tactics, procurement of military supplies. I was looking for something a bit better, like FUCK WINDURST, GO BUMRUSH WEST SARUTABARUTA.

I have no idea if that's going to help or not :D. I'll keep picking those two, when I can again. Don't know how long I have to wait.

I hardly see people go that npc..

THE SUCCESS OF WINDURST IS ALL IN THE PALM OF MY HANDS!(yea right)

My ls picked Gold Musketeer Commander Gogol (preemptive strikes), preemptive strike battle strategy, and weapons development. Most of them have been campaigning since it came out and never even knew that NPC did anything, so I expect a good deal of people doing campaign have never even talked to their tactical assessment NPC. They are:

    Isabella Bastok Markets (S) ( E - 8 )
    Kuron-Makaron Windurst Waters (S) ( H - 10 )
    Palardaifault V Draffles Southern San d'Oria (S) ( I - 9 )

I try this in Phoenix/Windy, and frequently get cursed at rather virulently by people. Even though Naja "Rape" Zwhan is at the end of the street cleaning her fingernails with that Pitchfork, they'll be damned if they let anyone other than PC's engage.. >.>

And Amen on the tank = giant happy honey pot as far as DD's are concerned. I have a fairly good tanking build on Monk, and often when I go to a zone, I see literally dozens of players hovering at the edges waiting to engage until someone else does. It's like highschool all over again. ><
