When I first started in fall of 06 he was in a Xbox 360 social or two with me, one of the higher leveled characters since he kept his beta character, and from that and his personality stemmed the asshat demeanor. He's always acted like a know it all, and always demands pearlsacks so he can smash anyone's pearl who disagrees with him over the stupidest and most trivial things. Always been an egomaniac and there's a few KI drama threads (including a lulzy real life picture of him) where he tries to safe face to everyone making fun of him.

I lost touch with him when I made my own social, but a year or so ago I was in DeathWithHonor dynamis with him when I first joined, he was kicked early on in my pearl-life due to blatantly skipping because we changed our scheduled run from Jeuno to Bastok 15 minutes before entering, and yelling at the sacks about it (something about bastok not having SMN AF or he already had it, I don't care to check at the moment.)

I've had him on my friends list for a long time, I'd randomly get tells from him saying how he's going to join Stellvia or DiVertissant(sp?) which are two of the Oldest Kings shells on Garuda and get Ridill/Ebody then level warrior and be awesome and what not. He's always talking like that, about Paladin recently: "I'm going to get Valor coat and be the best PLD and beat everyone in SapereAude," stupid shit like that. At least he's optimistic, I guess. He's never shown himself to be particularly skilled, Dragoon and Summoner don't get noticed a lot but I remember him getting downed by Olla Pequena in 10~or so seconds as a NIN/WAR. The irony is he was shouting to the linkshell that "I MUST TANK THIS, PLD CANT BECAUSE IT HAS EN-DISPEL." Oh, that reminds me of the time I made fun of him for TPing in hecatomb on Dragoon. His justification to it was that polearm was unaffected by slow because it was a ranged attack. I don't think he's all there.

He also joined a dynamis linkshell with me (Stigmata, led by a few DiV players since their Dynamis programs are no more) as ninja main, and threw a bitch fit after the first few runs because he couldn't main tank (the shell had two good paladins who would always tank, and many other paladins who sat on the sidelines/came as other jobs.) I don't recall if he was kicked, but he either left/got pearl-smashed soon after he skipped because he wasn't calling/tanking.

He's always been very verbal against botters/botting linkshells and he said I was his sworn enemy during my trial days in a certain linkshell, but after I was kicked for low attendance due to school, he said I could be his friend again because I didn't get any dirty botted armor! It's selective I guess, him and a friend of his were fishbotting in Kuftal for Angel skins which is where he funded all of his non-ex gear, and he lies about that too to cover his hypocrisy on the matter. I recall that he's quit FFXI a few times, always came back so far and gets all the attention he can muster. Early last year he really attention whored it up by threatening to kill himself on KI/MSN/Xbox because his credit card bounced or something, he was out of the game for a month or two and he couldn't take it.

Recently he has formed random shout pick-up dynamis, limbus, and sky linkshells with names such as xxxHaloGodzxxx, BloodyDarkVampire and other similar super-cool names, and recruited a bunch of players that can only be described as poopy and would fit in well in the gimp/confused/wtf player thread. They've always broken or repearled in under a month or around the 3rd or 4th run as well (and he seems to be abandoning his current shell now.) They never really accomplished anything although he's always spouting off about how he's the "master of sky" and how he knows everything, everyone underestimates him and doesn't know his true mind power or something. These are his words, not mine.

He's been spamming his friends list from my guess, I got a tell from him that he's leaving the server soon because Garuda is full of noob shells and idiots/players that suck. My guess is that none of the serious linkshells will accept him, either because of his attitude, track record, or that one time he called for help on Kirin because he didn't know how the game worked. He's asked me to help him get into the linkshell I am in, and I can assume he has spammed applications to other endgame shells as well.

I would assume he wants to clear his reputation and he's only going to use your shell for gear (My bet is homam) and not try to fit in or make a home there. If he doesn't get his way he'll begin to act out on your members/sacks and get kicked or just leave, and then proceed to leave a stink on your entire server.

He's not a close friend of mine, just an acquaintance or a friend-of a-friend type thing, although I don't hate him. He's brought me many laughs over the last two years, I get far too common tells about his idiotic escapades and we all have a hearty laugh at his expense. My vote for your decision though, for what it's worth, is a resounding: No.

I would concur with every little thing that was said. I have known Arlig, since the day I started playing as well, Reiz, Him, and I we're in as Reiz said, multiple Social and Dynamis LS's with him. He has never managed to stay in the same linkshell for very long. I know that he has had his pearl broke in multiple linkshells, mainly due to low attendance(Read: EXP'ing rather then attending said event) but he has also voluntarily left multiple linkshells as well, and I can't vouch in any way for why he left those linkshells.

I'm not a friend, nor an enemy of his, once again more of an acquaintance, even though we were in quite a few linkshells together, once Reiz and I left those shells, and created our own Social, we lost almost all contact with him, outside of seeing shouts for very random linkshells, which soon broke after said shouts. I'm assuming they broke due to bad leadership (Read: Leader won't attend events, constantly screaming, lack of in-game knowledge, bad judgment). I will at least give him props for giving leadership a try, sadly though, some people are better followers then leaders. There are some notable people here on Garuda, by notable, I refer to the people whom everyone knows as the /wtf/ players usually for multiple reasons, he, falls into that category, but does not lead it, he might have a lack of game knowledge, a bad temper, and some other bad personality qualities but I mean no ones 100% bad right!? No hard feelings mate. Hope you the best in your game future, as I'm sure everyone else does.

My relationship with Arlig is nearly identical to that of Reizvoll and Jez's, except that I get a lot more of the random/retarded /tells from Arlig than either of them. I think it's because he's always thought of me as a friend because I'm nicer to him than most, mainly because I honestly feel bad for the guy sometimes :/ Although, sometimes his arrogance and know-it-all mentality just piss me off so bad I straight up tell him he's a fucking idiot and he still talks to me. As far as why he's changing servers, it is definitely because he was denied by all the shells he tried to get into on Garuda. I got a /tell from him a few days ago saying "I HATE THIS SERVER AND THE STUPID FUCKING PEOPLE ON IT. I HATE THE LINKSHELLS THAT ONLY DECLINE." When I asked what he was ranting about he said "I got denied by Div, Stellvia, Censhura, and a EU limbus ls." Then he told me he was going to apply for a shell on a different server lol. These are moot points but DeathWithHonor was way longer than six months ago. UWDII I don't know since I wasn't in it, but it seems longer than that. He also had a ridiculous sky shell named xxxHaloGodzxxx that he led, don't know why he didn't mention that since he listed CosmisShadow. I don't even know what the hell ArmasLegacy is.

Also, I think the linkshell in the above thread declined so he's off to spamming applications again. Please read that for all you need to know.

Arlig didnt happend to mention the limbus ls im in either ephorate.

long story short he joined hardly attended then sends a tell saying "IM BEING SCREWED OVER FOR HOMAM" even tho the people in front of him had attended more than 4 times the amount of runs in some occassions. he then disappeared for a few weeks a few rumours going about saying he had been banned for using a fishing bot in Kuftal Tunnel when ppl asked he said no he just took a break without telling anyone.

he left our ls and joined a new limbus ls (missed the name) then left that one a week later as he "COULDNT STAND SOMEONE" in the shell and was bottom of all lists for homam. seems being disloyal and leaving ur old ls should give u a priority on top drops in his world.

He then asked the shell leader if he could rejoin our shell and we did a vote of the 16 ppl only 2 were ok with him returning. i actually voted yes for him returning as he didnt really do anything to merit being kicked but he wasnt the most popular member in the shell thats for sure.

after he got a no vote i got a tell "FUCK LIMBUS, FUCK HMN SHELLS THAT ONLY SAY NO, FUCK MY DYNAMIS SHELL, FUCK GARUDA IM GONE!" after having a 5 minute laughing fit i returned to waiting for the rest of the shell to gather for limbus..

thats the last i heard from Arlig not the most loyal character u'll ever meet as the list of ls s suggest wasnt a particularly bad player that i saw just had a bad habit of rubbing people up the wrong way & refusing to go smn when its was more beneficial than his ninja that he rarely changed from.
