dowloaded grandia yesterday, might start it up today. any tips before getting started?

otherwise, just playing (terribly) starcraft2beta. School is finishing up this week so I might be looking for a ps3 title... considering ff13 but I'm hoping for a price drop.

Aside from the usual (WoW) I'm also trying my hand at IWBTG (iwannabetheguy). Right now I'm up roughly 500 deaths but I did manage to beat zangief/bowser/dracula/tyson and am currently on the way to mecha bird. Thankfully I'm just passed that stupid moving spikes part in the graveyard themed screen (people who played it will probably know what screen I'm referring to). Maybe soon when my brother finishes FFXIII I'll give that one a shot (leeching of his games ftw).

Just bought Valkyria Chronicles for £15. Should be here tomorrow, fun times. But god dammit, Resonance of Fate, White Knight Chronicles, Demon's Souls and now Valkyria Chronicles. Think I'ma have to hide VC away until I at least finish RoF or DS.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Work offshore so my PSP is often my only friend. Just up to the sunken ship and getting stuck at the final boss when he goes one on one with Mario! Sure I'll beat him soon though.

Finally finished playthrough #1 on FFIV: DS.

2/2 Onion Shield, 2/2 Onion Sword, 3/5 Adamant Armor. I'll work on the last two armors when I get the Crystal Mail again on play #2.

Got White Knight Chronicles and A Boy and His Blob from Gamefly. I almost fell asleep at the beginning of WKC. I'm not too fond of the battle system, but I'll stick it out a bit before I send it back. (Note to devs... if the PS3 controller shuts off during a cutscene, maybe it's just a little too long.) Blob is fun so far. There's absolutely 0 story development, but the puzzles are fun to figure out. I'll probably keep it through this weekend so my nephew can play it this weekend.

Uh, did they ever find a way to emulate special chip games?

I remember Super Mario RPG, Yoshi's Island, among a few others, were slow and clunky as hell on PSP cause it couldn't emulate some special chip or whatever

Boy and His Blob is pretty awesome, aside from teh boss fights. The puzzles are pretty clever, some of the ones to simply traverse the level are pretty easy but to get all 3 chests in each level will definitely make you feel clever for using the blobs various forms. Boss fights are really frustrating until you figure out exactly how to beat them though.

Let's see... after around 20 hours I finished the main story of Endless Ocean 2 with a fair amount of side stuff, and I still have around 100 or so total fish, salvage items, and coins left to collect. All in all it's a LOT better than EO1, they did a lot to make it more engrossing and you always feel like you have something to see or do. I'm just pissed that it's over now, I'll probably go ahead and 100% it because it's just that good.

Playing EO2 definitely makes me want to go back and find a copy of Everblue 2 (also made by Arika, supposedly Endless Ocean aka Forever Blue is the spiritual successor to that series) for ps2, and now I'm also on the lookout for a copy of Aquanaut's Holiday for ps3 but it's super duper rare, as the english verison is HK/Korea only and now it's out of print. Speaking of nature-type games, has anyone played Afrika?

Also finished Kuon for ps2. Some clunky combat (to be expected in survival horror, I guess) and somewhat dated graphics but a survival horror game set in feudal japan revolving around mulberries/silkworms is pretty innovative. Some scary moments, I'm definitely glad I tracked the game down.

Still deciding on what to play next-- either Fatal Frame 3, the Wii version of Pikmin 2, or Saboteur, or a couple more wii games I could wrap up. I've been contemplating picking up Lego Harry Potter but I think I'll just pick up Alan Wake on release date and wait til Lego HP drops in price.

Playing Borderlands from Gamefly but debating going back finishing the missions on FF13 ( only at like 35~ ) and sending Borderlands back for another game. Getting kinda sick of the WoW-style grind with the storyline only being "treasure fkya!"

Is the grinding really that bad, or do you just have a low tolerance to it in general? I was thinking about getting it from Gamefly next, too, without looking too much into it. I figured it'd be more along the lines of Fallout, not a grind-fest.

I honestly wouldnt call it a grindfest. I havent played the new DLC for it, but you do missions for xp/weapons/money and get xp for killing enemies. Has a new game plus, fun co-op. But he is right about the story not a ton of story with it.

Eh it's not so much that it's a grindfest but it's the "hey go get me this" or "go kill 15 of these" that's like WoW grinding.

Snipings kinda pissing me off as well since I'll have a headshot lined up and watch the shot hit the dirt directly behind the motherfucker and all of the sudden every single bad guy in the zone know exactly where the shot came from _-_

It's a fun game to play but the little things are starting to add up and I'm not very far in ( Level 21 )

I really liked Borderlands to the extent I played it. I only made it to about Lv25, but I never got tired of it, just horrible about sticking with games.

WITH THAT SAID, just finished Beyond Good & Evil last night finally. "MAMMAGOOOO", lol I found myself saying that way too much in between scenes in that game. Pretty great, though, glad Atreides recommended/nagged me into playing. I usually don't like going into games with really high expectations, but BG&E really didn't disappoint in that capacity.

Also, I played on the PS2 and despite the forced letterbox, I found it to be really beautiful for that era.

Missed this but holy shit, I'm shocked you got that far. I watched a playthrough of that and IWBTG qualifies for fucking masochism. I maybe got 2 screens in before ragequit.

It plays fine on my psp, just slow during magic such as blizzard or other spells that take up the whole screen, Sunken Ship really annoying due to the ghosts spamming the spell. Ohh also when you get a critical hit it slows down a little, but only for a second. Not tried Yoshi's island yet but will give it a go and let you know tomorrow if you like.

Also playing Star Oceon First Departure on the psp which I'm really enjoying, only real annoyance with it is the massive slowdown on the world map, even though the game is made for the psp.

When at home currently playing Lost Odossy, aside from FFXI ofcourse,

Borderlands gets better. Around the middle of the game is really awful and grindy (Rust Commons bit) and it's definitely a lot more fun with friends.

All weapons have a chance of missing in Borderlands as well (with their accuracy giving you an idea of the potential spread of the bullets); only real way to tighten it is by getting proficiency with the weapon or some class skills etc. Snipers can be annoying for this reason, and it's why if you are not Mordecai you must stick to the high accuracy snipers if you want to avoid RAEG.

Don't get me wrong, Borderlands does have a lot of flaws but it can also be a blast with friends. There is a lot of grinding but you're rarely just grinding: you're always going along with a story objective or such.

It's not so bad, a lot of the screens are static or trigger-based and just need some practice. Once you know the screens and the timing it becomes a lot easier. Still, some parts have such a small window of oppertunity that you'll die a lot. Managed to kill mecha bird yesterday so now I just have motherbrain left before I can head to last 2 bosses.

I need help I can't finish games. I get near the end, and lose all motivation to play I think it's partially due to how busy school has been, but meh! Summer classes starting so I probably wont be able to finish many of these

Persona 4 - Final dungeon. Started it as soon as it came out, I think SO4 happened
Suikoden Tierkreis - I got to a point where I could recruit most stars, and just kinda, stopped, really need to finish this, even though its not a real Suikoden, it's still Suikoden
SO1 - I think I'm near the end, got all the 4 emblems and need to get the eye of truth thingy
SO2 - Technically, beat it, but still haven't finished the Cave of Trials >_> those fucking robots on that one floor keep killing me :/
Radiata Stories - Probably only halfway through, maybe, didn't really like it that much, but I still want to go back and finish it
Persona2 Innocent Sin - Not really that far, need to go back and play more, I want to fight the final boss so bad lol
Strange Journey - Not really "stopped", just been playing other stuff lately. On like the 3rd sector or something
Skies of Arcadia - Already beat this before, but replaying it recently, stopped around the time you fight DeLoco in that underground thingy, kinda near the end I think, want to get all of the secrets this time around >.>
Valkyria Chronicles - I'm on THE LAST FUCKING FIGHT, why wont I finish it?
Disgaea 3 - About 70% done with the story I think? This game gave me such a large headache and I kinda lost interest :/ DLC also pissed me off, I already payed like $40 for the game, fuck you I'm not paying another $50 for shit that should have already come with the game.
    Pikmin2 - No clue where I left off, but I know I wasn't finished
FF13 - Need to get a few more accessories and rank5 missions
FF8 - Actually never beat the final boss in this game lololol
Zelda TP - In a desert dungeon or something

I also watched a gameplay video of the boy and his blob video, omg, so cute, downloading it now :3 Any other recommendations, Atreides? Or anyone else >.>
