I have no clue what to playI have a massive catalog of backgames: Dragon Age, Heavy Rain, God of War 3, Darksiders, finish Bayonetta, Lost Planet 2, Red Dead Redemption, Nier, Batman:AA: GotY, Deadly Premonition (i heard it's got a good fucked up story), finish Dead Space, Monster Hunter Tri... and I just keep going back to SSF4 lol.
Where do you stream juli~?
finish Dead Space! such an awesome game.
Heavy Rain isn't that long either, maybe 8 hours or so? You could probably wrap up Darksiders or God of War 3 or Batman in 2 nights each depending on how fast you play.
Also Deadly Premonition is awesome, I need to finish it myself.
Finished up Grandia yesterday. Overall, pretty solid game. I think it's aged fairly well. Not a lot of sidequest depth, and the dungeon scheme gets a little repetitive, but the story and characters being passable plus a genuinely well-done battle system made it enjoyable. The tunes were diggable for a game, too. Some of the interface stuff doesn't stand up too well, though. And combat starts becoming a real joke towards the end (i.e. Justin with Heaven and Earth Cut/Dragon Cut with the accessory that halves all SP costs, not to even mention the other characters).
Hollywood Video in my town is closing, so I made a trip to check out their clearance stuff. Picked up AC2 (PS3) for 20 bucks and then a few PS2 games that looked interesting enough to try for 2.50 or 5 bucks each: Arc the Lad: End of Darkness, Dynasty Tactics, and Atelier Iris 2.
Honestly I know very little about those ps2 games. From what I recall, Dynasty Tactics reviewed decently and I know it's an SRPG (an old favorite genre of mine... fuck that reminds me I have a Front Mission 4 save I should try to complete sometime). Atelier Iris is... one of those more obscure JRPG series. And Arc the Lad is some kind of SRPG? idk bro.
Any info/recs regarding my PS2 buys?
Picked up Silent Hill:Homecoming for $10 (along with a couple of movies, a local video store was having a closing sale. Game didn't come with a damn manual though), anything I should be forewarned about before i touch it?
it's a lot harder than the previous games. Save your ammo for bosses
Playing through Super Mario RPG on SNES. Just got to Nimbus Town or w/e it's called.
Picked up a new PSP today, $149 for the Assassin's Creed bundle, figured why not.
Can't mod the thing (yet), but fuck yeah! Finally get to get back to finishing Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow and the MGS: POs. Should be a CFW method for fw6.20 figured out by the time I finish these.
(good thing I never sold my UMD games when my old 1000 series died)
[EDIT] Woot, got NES/SNES working on it, I'm good to go.
Omg.. dropped my wii mote on the floor while in the home/pause menu thing, and some config came up, and I CAN TURN THE VOLUME ON THIS THING DOWN HOLY SHIT i wish I had known this sooner![]()
yeah you can lower the wiimote speaker volume, it's helpful since it's usually not set to max and certain games use it quite extensively for playing back voice files-- Dead Space Extraction, Lit, and The Calling to name a few.
Muted that shit the second I got my Wii. There is nothing more annoying.
Going back through games to clean up trophies for Platinum. Finishing up Bioshock 2 and then Bioshock after, summer sucking for games so might as well use the time to go back and knock them out.
in Lit (which despite what I'm going to say happens to be one of the best puzzle/adventure type games on the system) you have to listen to every single phone call in the game from your vapid girlfriend (through the speaker, mind you, holding it to your ear like a phone) or else you don't get the good ending.
took advantage of buy-2-get-1 at gamestop this weekend, picked up:
Dragon Age: Origins - freezes every five minutes. that's not hyperbole, either. I wish it was. I'll try and patch the game tonight, if that doesn't work I'm bringing it back. (but I would think it would have automatically patched when I installed it...?)
Mariokart Wii - ehhhh not a fan of the tilt controls, not at all. if I return DA, I'll return this too. if I don't I might as well keep it, since returning one game won't do me any good.
Demon's Souls - the clear winner of the three. brutal, yet satisfying. I have died so many ways and I'm not even past 1-1 yet. and I've avoided more than a few deaths by using the online features too, such a brilliant idea. love the blood stains, watching other gamers die is both entertaining and helpful.
I never had any problems with my ps3 version of Dragon Age, sounds like you have a defective copy.
I'm playing Resonance of Fate still, this game is fantastic, seems to have gotten lost in the FFXIII hoopla that it had the misfortune of being released around.
it's either a bad copy or http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/to.../index/2379427
hoping it's the latter and is fixed tonight.
Didn't DA have a memory leak or two in it?
I recalled one of my buds bitching as it froze up every so far on him. Granted, he played the game fully 7 times so he may have clocked a few more hours than the average person. >.>
As for me, I updated my new PSP's FW from 5.51 to 5.55 to at least play the Assassin's Creed Bloodline game I got bundled in, and I have to say I'm surprised. Nice smooth graphics (with a coupled visual hiccups, especially on objects in the distance) and looking like a higher-end PS2 game without a single hitch in the framerate. Feels just like the console version of the first albeit with lower-poly visuals and smaller areas (which are still large as far as handheld gaming goes, with very quick load times)
Only pet peeve I have with the game is the low bitrate on voice clips, and I'm not sure why that's so common PSP games. I guess graphics is more of an important focus than keeping a buffer of memory free for streaming decent sound samples into.
Possibly taking a trip to Walmart tomorow to grab some of the $10-19 PSP games I've been wanting to play for awhile (Patapon 1/2, the Mega Mans, Pursuit Force, LBP PSP, etc), maybe Disgaea 2:DHD while I'm at it since I spent a fuckton of hours on the first PSP port. I still miss my CFW though, but hopefully there'll be something new within the next four months regarding that.
get Brave Story if you want a great turn based rpg!
although I don't think walmart will have it
