I actually don't mind them all that much, but some are just fucking retarded and annoy me time to time
Edit: I actually don't remember getting annoyed about a mini-game in fucking ages, I actually wanna see some of the more annoying ones now.
(Re)playing FF9 currently, then gonna hit up FF7 like a few others are in this thread. Never beat either one of them, fuck the internet for being such a convenience in my impatient hands. Always end up spoiling the end of games for myself and lose all interest in playing. Quit playing FF7 at the beginning of descending the crater, quit FF9 in Terra, quit FF8 in the castle, FF10 in Sin, didn't come close in 12, lost interest in 13 by the time I got to Eden. Needless to say, probably won't finish 9 this go around but I really hope I do.![]()
god dammit you fuckers are making me want to replay FF7/9 now too
I still have this huge backlog to go through
edit: i need to replay lost odyssey at some point too
Argh, I gave the Patapon 2 demo a tryout for an hour (was using it to load up NES/SNES earlier), and now I can't get the fucking drum beats out of my head.
I would pay good money if there was a way to somehow erase my memory so I could play LO again for the first time
Yeah, I never finished LO either... fuck.
My backlog ends here. I have to start playing games and actually finishing them.I didn't even bother in that backlog thread because it'd have been, at least for me, "post the list of games you own," not just a backlog.
Don't blame you for not finishing it. The battle system was terribly bland and the game dragged on too long. I honestly think the game would have benefited from being shorter. It's a shame since it started off so strong too.
really? I had like... the exact opposite problem. Got most of the way through disc one and then got bored, and had to come back months later to finish it. I thought the biggest problem with the game was the lack of endgame content, so I would have loved a bit more length or at least a few optional dungeons/bosses besides the DLC.
I agree the combat was kinda bland, although I was looking for strict turn-based combat so I didn't have much of a problem with it. I guess that style is kinda hard for people to stomach on consoles these days, myself included, which is probably why most turn-based RPGs end up on handhelds now.
It's not that I dislike turn based games (although I certainly prefer action ones nowadays), it's just I need something a little more than the bare bones to keep me interested. It didn't help that encounters started to take way too long towards the end of the game either. I can go back and play the shit outta Grandia 2 any time because the battle system is still really fun despite being turn based, but I was already getting bored of LO's system by the time I finished disc one. You could mention the attack ring system but let's be honest, you could get Perfect with your eyes closed after a few hours of playing anyway.
yeah, the ring system spiced things up only a little... but I think I prefered it as a sign that Sacnoth's ideas are still alive and well despite the death of the shadow hearts franchise (since some of their employees ended up at mistwalker). You're right about battle length, especially when you started spamming Divide on enemies towards the end of the game, some of those spells had ridiculously long unskippable animations... although nothing really compares with Last Remnant in the too-fucking-long department lol
Blue dragon has a much less interesting story in comparison, but I think I liked the battle system better, since the charging of abilities/spells added another level of strategy and kept things a bit more interesting.
Just finished Mega Man 4. I'm playing the original 6 on NES in order. I really hope my friend has the SNES ones, because I'd like to continue the series.
Started playing uncharted 2 for the first time. Game is great so far, but some of the cut scenes are really glitchy... Characters would stop moving and start to have seizures, all while the audio was playing fine. Funny as hell lol
I just got LBP and need some people to play with, tag is in sig
Are you much of a trophy whore? I could use a partner to finish up all the multiplayer-related trophies.
(lacking the one where you build a stage with a friend, play online with 3 guys in your friends list, and some of the 3-4x player prize bubbles)
