Took me around 110-120 hours to 1000/1000 Blue Dragon just to lose all that hard work later on. Also put alot of time in LO along with Eternal Sonata I would replay them to 1000/1000 them again but fuck that... I don't care about GS much, but I hate seeing all that work gone.

I'm gonna need a new RPG to play once I plat RoF, but I'll think I'll just try out Valkyria Chronicles since I hear it's so great, that and it's cheap at the moment.

Eternal Sonata had the dumbest achievements/trophies. I beat the game then saw I essentially had to beat it again twice just to do everything, since I didn't follow a guide the first time and missed most of the items you had to pick up through backtracking. I want to go back and 1000/1000 Infinite Undiscovery one day though, that game was damn fun and I'm sure fighting Ethereal Queen on the hardest difficulty will be awesome. I just struggle to play through games (well, more specifically RPGs) multiple times in a row, so I haven't touched it since I beat it on Normal.

I never beat Eternal Sonata, couldn't stand the bland story or annoying characters (not to mention horrible animation). The game was lovely looking though, with good music.

Anyway, so many games to play, and with the discovery of wii emulation, I've been catching up on my Wii games, starting with Muramasa then TvC. What RPGs are on the Wii that are worth playing?

Talk to Atredies, he's played every shitty RPG the Wii has to offer.

I'm pretty sure at least half of this almost-3000 post thread is him and Julian talking about Rune Factory Frontier, try that?

RFF is really really good for a Harvest Moon game. My favorite before it had been Mineral Town, because you could actually get the stupidl ittle harvest sprites to do your work for you, but the monster system in this one is just much much better. Also, tons of other stuff to do, too.

It gets a little boring towards the end, though, but that's not really a bad thing, just means its time to stop playing :D

there aren't a lot of RPGs on the wii sadly, at least not yet.

Rune Factory Frontier is probably the best one at this point, it's a shitload of fun. Normally I can't stand harvest moon, but the dungeon crawling was enough to keep me playing for ~175 hours lol

Other than that you have Chocobo's Dungeon and Baroque and Shiren the Wanderer, the first is supposed to be pretty good. I played Baroque on ps2, it's more of a roguelike-like action RPG, so it's probably not for everyone.

FFCC Crystal Bearers isn't really an RPG (but it is awesome). I guess you could play FFIV After Years on Wiiware, which I still need to get to myself.

edit: but if you're looking for the top 5 3rd party Wii games of any genre: Little King's Story, De Blob, Muramasa, Endless Ocean 2, Rune Factory Frontier. I'd throw in Dead Space Extraction since you played Muramasa, especially if you're a fan of the original.

Pretty much what happened to me with Magna Carta 2. I think I ended up missing 3 quests for 100% completion, but since there's no backtracking or NG+, I was screwed from getting this and don't feel like replaying it since it's not exactly short. I've always wanted to try Infinite Undiscovery, but heard it was pretty short for an RPG, so I put it on hold for awhile. I guess it's time to get around to playing that.

its not that short, especially with the post-game content. I had a lot of fun with it too, it's a lot better then reviews would have you believe. If you download the free DLC (there are 2) that let you buy most of the synthesis items at stores, it'll save yourself a lot of headache later on unless you want to farm.

Harbourmaster for ipad, possibly the most addicting free game I've ever played.

Around how long would it take to pretty much 100% it? I remember reading awhile ago that the story was around 20 hours long, no clue if that's accurate or not.

100% with all achievements? I'm not sure exactly, I think I spent 40-60 hours but I didn't go for achievements at all. I spent a lot of time grinding and farming extra stuff, if you wanted to max out your characters stats that would probably take a while. I figure it's probably a minimum 20 hours if you're just zipping through the story, but if you take the time to do everything and 100% it there's at least 60-80 hours worth of content, if not more.

I'm pretty much sold now. Nice to see this will actually keep me busy for awhile and it's only $20, so it's pretty much win/win. I'm tempted to put RoF on hold for a bit to play IU now. Even if I don't max out the stats that's still a pretty decent amount of playtime, I thought it'd be alot less from what I kept hearing.

If you want all the achievements you have to play through the game three times though. There's one for beating the secret boss on the hardest difficulty, which is unlocked after you beat Hard mode (and Hard after Normal). Also sidenote, don't sell the Emblazoned Sword. It's used to craft one of the best (might be THE best, I can't remember) swords at the end of the game. So tempting to get shot of it 'cause it sells for a pretty penny.

Ya... getting the final skills/spells for everyone is really time consuming too, having to farm some relatively rare drops from the post-game dungeon etc. Not all of them are worth it, but if you're a completionist you can also farm items to make permanent stat increase items... although with 20 characters that could take a long ass time lol

edit: if you want easy money, just get the 2 free DLCs and craft. There are a few items that sell for a LOT more than the ingredient cost, meaning you can virtually have unlimited fol if you sit around town making shit. Just remember to save before you craft anything, I really enjoyed the crafting system a lot but random synthesis failures abound especially on high level recipes so you don't want to lose your hard earned materials.

Well I have only had my ps3 since january and you can see my trophies lol. So far I love the game and want to try and finish it before 2 comes out. And since my brother seems to think it's a game for 10 year olds so I can't play all the time. If I don't accept ur invite I'm probably watching tv

I'll make sure to keep this in mind, thanks.

20 characters? Damn, that sure is alot >_> Really wasn't expecting that many, lol. I like the way the gameplay looks, so I don't have to worry about if I like that or not when I pick it up.

I wish more games did shit like the multi-party situations in IU did, was some awesome moments where you split up in to seperate groups. Only ever control of the main guy but seeing 12 people running around smashing the hell out of things was awesome.
