It's not a proper warning as far as I'm concerned.
I find there's at least 4 fan speeds.
1. The speed it normally starts at.
2. When it's been on for a bit, or I started a game
3. Playing a game during normal weather online
4. Holy fuck I'm going to die, wtf are you doing playing LittleBigPlanet right now during this hot humid sticky weather?
Granted I play with my PS3 upright which heats up other components faster than if it was lying down just due to the way the case is designed.
If you own a PS3 Fat and *really* want to hear it get loud, pop in a standard audio CD and have it rip the music to your harddrive.
I paid $3.75 for it during one of the 24hr sales on Steam last week, and it felt about right as far as gameplay goes. It's not a bad game by any means, but the gameplay is simple to the point where the great looking graphics don't really help justify a higher price point, especially when the game is literally a series of enclosed areas where you're forced to kill everything in the area to proceed to another area to do the same thing. Definitely wait on a sale, or try out the demo if the 360 has one.
I'm actually getting LittleBigPlanet tomorrow (couldn't pass up the game of the year edition and the controller bundle). I've never played it, but I'll help you out getting the trophy as well for your level if you need.
i bought that bundle when it came out and couldn't be happier with LBP and another controller for 60 bucks.
Only trophies I need assistance with are the ones where people play levels you create, as well as hearting you and your level. I'm game for heating you and whatever you end up creating. LBP isn't a hard game to platinum (although Acing all levels can test your patience), it's just time consuming, especially if you don't use the boosting thread on PS3T.org for getting hearts from other people.
I can't let Shojin be the only one on my friends list with it platinum'd. ;/
yea i will help with that crap too, i just bought that bundle and very much enjoy the game, i just dont know what kind of level to make yet...
Survival maps are a good place to start.
Small one-screen map, and you learn how to deal with destroying (or moving) a check-point, playing with emitters, and scripting 'difficulty' over time, without the worry of trying to pretty up the entirety of a large map that takes 6-8min to finish.
Just picked up GTA 4 the other day. It's pretty good so far, although the accents were kinda hard to get use to. First GTA game since 3/Vice City.
Yeah I can only understand a word or two here and there lol. Is GTA 4 pretty good over all?
Been playing inFamous, just need 5 more shards to platinum, Ive scoured all three islands back and forth and cant find them so said fuck it, I'll finish it later on down the road. Hate having to find 350 of these fuckers, so annoying.
Aside from LBP that I'll be playing tomorrow, I've been playing a lot of Red Dead Redemption myself. Trying to get the online trophies but no luck so far. I was two minutes away from the public enemy trophy and got bumrushed by everyone in the game all of a sudden. So frustrating. Don't think I'll end up with the trophy for using the same horse for 20 missions either because quite frankly I hate horses and found enjoyment in shooting them in the head while going full speed. At least the game's good enough to replay for 20 missions.
Replaying Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2.
I told myself I was going to wait til it came out in English to touch it again but that never did happen...
I enjoyed the 15 hours or so I put in it so far, but I get frustrated when I die mid-mission as I'm trying to obtain the one trophy for beating the game under 30 hours, and deaths are a no-no. The game's story doesn't really pick up until you're off the first island, but then again, that's pretty much the same case with all the GTAs from ViceCity and up.
Ivaden, what are the online trophies for RDR like? Are they easily grinded, or are there some bullshit ones? I know about the one for being public enemy for 10min and that's it, and there's probablyt a guide out there somewhere where some player found a spot you can exploit enemy AI on. ;/
I need to get back to working on the co-op mission trophies for that. Hard to find competent people for the advance mode.
[EDIT] On a side note, fuck sandbox games for being so fucking time consuming to platinum in general. Not even bothering with GTA4's online as it literally requires 80+ hours of online play grinding cash for a single trophy, and that's ignoring the other bullshit one regarding doing every single possible race online and winning.
I also need to get back to Just Cause 2, but as far as trophies go in that it's all grinding towards 75% completion (I beat the game at 31% after 30 some hours of gameplay ;/), and then doing a hardest-difficulty playthrough which I'll probably speed run.
Started playing ME1 again once I finished my Breath of Fire 3 playthrough. Still need to get several achievements and setup a few different saves for going through ME2.
Plus getting to play with Wrex again is pretty awesome.
Anyone here ever play any of the Indie Games on Xbox Live? Was looking at one that came out today called Aphelion (check out the screens on Live) and it actually looks kind of interesting. Going to try and find a site that has some reviews of some of these ... if there is one.
Holy crap that looks... awesome. For 240 points I might have to pick it up.

Speaking of Xbox indies:
Breath of Death VII is a neat little oldschool RPG, and it's only a dollar. (80 pts)

Dungeon Adventure is alright if you like oldschool roguelikes, it has text style interface or graphical (240 pts)

Soulcaster is pretty neat, you can summon monsters and stuff (240 pts)

Masters of Belial is a neat little diablo-style game (400 pts)

Anyone else know any other good indies, specifically RPGs/adventure games? Anyone ever try ZenHak?
Yeah, winning four consecutive games is a bitch I think, and the free-for-all one will end up kicking my ass too because I'm not all that great. The public enemy one can be hard too, but it has nothing to do with exploiting the AI, it has to do with the other people in the free roam and whether or not they care to come after you. I'm not even sure what benefit there is from going after the public enemy, I'm sure it's exp, but I got killed twice by being rushed when I was <5 minutes from getting the trophy so I just gave up. I'm sure I could get it with my friend in the game protecting me or something, but it was hard to me to avoid dynamite being thrown at me when all I was doing was hiding in the upper part of the saloon in Armadillo.
I downloaded Aphelion and I've been playing about 20 minutes now. It is kinda awesome. There's skill trees, crafting, combat is strictly turn based with a few frills like group attacks and shields that deplete before HP damage occurs. The only complaint I have is that combat is a little slow but that could be just because I only have 1 party member currently.
Graphics are quite nice too, but all in all this is great especially considering it was only $3. Definitely give the trial game a spin. Thanks for pointing this out.
edit: ooh according to the trailer there's an optional ultimate boss too. Yeah I'm hooked now lol
