So What Are YOU Playing?

so, i dont have any rpgs on ps3 (other then FF13) and i want to play one that has good gameplay and also has trophys (I NEEDZ MOAR) the types of rpgs are the old FF and DQ.

Only game I can think of that is anywhere remotely near that style of play is Star Ocean 4, and it's been lauded for a bad story along with its voice acting, although thankfully there's dual-audio track in the PS3 release. It's also apparently extremely time consuming and difficult for a lot of the trophies.


There's also Cross Edge as far as RPGs go, but I've yet to find someone who actually enjoyed the game, and it got hammered hard by the reviewers in general.

You might like Eternal Sonata if you enjoy Tales games. It's not like old FF games but game-play is still fun.

No trophies. If there were I'd have probably pushed through and beat the fucking thing. Got sick and tired of its horrible pacing.

yeah it is really slow, I would definitely go through in Encore mode and get everything but I couldn't even push through the bonus endgame dungeon, let alone play through the whole thing again lol.

The only RPG I enjoyed on PS3 other then FF was Folklore. And I don't know if it has trophies, nore is it anything like FF.

I can't find something that holds my interest right now. My backlog has grown boring. =( I have FF13 to finish (on chapter 12 I think?). I put Resonance of Fate back in after nearly a month of not playing it and was handed about 9-10 Game Overs as I tried to remember how to play the goddamn thing.

FIFA 10 and FIFA WC South Africa are there, but just not feeling either of them.

MMOs are only holding my interest for a week tops. MUST FIND SOMETHING!

lol, I hardly ever play new games anymore and I've given up on the concept of ever tackling my backlog of PS2 RPGs just because it feels like work because of how high the stack is now. Nuthin' but cute and retarded DS games lately with a Chrono Trigger DS playthrough in between to keep my nostalgia in check; I'd totally recommend.

It's actually a really nice remake and the only sour spot I've found in the game so far is the hours spent running errands in the new Lost Sanctum areas. Other than that I love it.

I dont think there is such a game (yet). All the rpgs I can think of with trophies don't play like FF13(disgaea 3)

are any of the download rpgs have trophies? theres a new JP lookin game on the PSN, like, every week <.< or its the same 2-3

If you haven't played it: Tales of Vesperia. It's like 20$ at gamestop now, and hands down my favorite RPG this gen.

Arc Rise Fantasia is supposed to be very solid JRPG fare, though I have not played it yet.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World is also like 15$ I think at Gamestop, it's not supposed to be great, but again, typical Tales of series stuff if that's your thing.

And the new Castlevania is coming out on Xbox Live tomorrow as well.

I have Tales of Vesperia for 360... had it forever. I also have Valkyria Chronicles to finish. I HAVE plenty of good games, I just can't stay interested in them it seems.

Arc Rise Fantasia is pretty great, right now I'm about 30 hours in. Really enjoyable, the story is actually quite good

well there goes that idea then. i was looking at demons souls cause its like 30 bucks now. is it a good game? i was reading it was kinda hard but that doesn't bother me

Demons Souls is a very good game, its an action RPG, it doesnt have much of a story, the gameplay and combat is where it shines. The learning curve is kinda steep, and it can be a hard game your first playthrough until you learn enemies attack patterns. I suggest buying used at gamestop and try it out, if you dont like it, take it back within 7 days. If you do, buy it new or keep the used if you dont mind buying used from gamestop.

Demons Souls is brutal, but pretty awesome.

On the action RPG front, I enjoyed Dragon Age Origins quite a bit as well.

man, thinking about PS3 and Wii and 360, this generation has been a little depressing for RPGs. Seems like all the good stuff is on like... DS? lol
