I hope you're playing them without having had someone spoil the games for you. Finding out what happens in each game as it comes make it all the more awesome.

I never had a chance to play MGS 4 for myself, but I watched a playthrough on Youtube to get the story. Not the same as actually playing it but at least I got to see the end to the series (and it saves me $500 <.< ).

Yeah, the most I know past what I just learned in MGS is that MGS2 has a level that takes place on a steel ship/building and Snake has to get to the top or something, and there's a guy with blond hair, a lot like Snake which I assume is Solidus or some other spy like Snake. Oh yeah, and he shot a lot of pigeons and something about an amphibian metal gear. (If it isn't obvious, I only know this from vague memories of watching my friend play what I think were the first few levels of MGS2).

Null: coolroms.com has a working version of chrono trigger. I just beat it from my d/l there and had no issues from start to finish.

edit: Great to hear more people are picking up MGS. MGS1 is by far my favorite, but it has to be the version on the ps1, not that gamecube bullshit. All the copies of that game should be destroyed.

Interesting... what's wrong with it? I haven't played the GC version but I was under the impression that it was a decent upgrade from PS1 version.

Nothing "wrong" per se, but the cutscenes make it seem like it's being told from the perspective of a Solid Snake fanboy who exaggerates certain scenes.
I don't have any specific examples in mind right now...

The flash cart was certainly worth the investment. I've been playing the hell out of Children of Mana, and it's exactly the type of game I got this for: Something I'd feel shitty if I paid for it, but definitely fun in its own right. It's basically Diablo of Mana, the story is nowhere near what the SNES versions were but the gameplay is still fun, and the gem-fusing system is deeper than I would have expected from a game like this.

Also playing Mother 3 at the moment, I've already come close to crying, I can tell this is going to be a great little game. It seems like it really loves combining dark humour with gut-punching emotional twists, like...

The "I've got good news and bad news" line when you find out Hinawa's dead, and Flint's devestated reaction. Never has a non-verbal character expressed so much emotion in one cut-scene.

I'm only slightly past that point though, so don't ruin anything for me I hear it gets even more depressing...

I really, really liked Valkyria Chronicles. Only problem is it's kind of short (took me ~30-35 hours on my first play-through), but I loved the story so much I played through it a second time and got A-rank on all the battles. Am still hoping for some added downloadable content on PSN. Q_Q

Related to topic, Valkyria Chronicles reignited my interest in SRPGs, and I'm currently playing Jeanne D'Arc on PSP. 80s-quality animation cutscenes aren't really my cup of tea, but I'm enjoying the game a lot. Just about every PSP game I've played amazes me with how awesome of graphics that little thing can put out.

Another game you might want to check out now that you have a flashcart is Soma Bringer, was never brought out in anywhere but Japan but it's a fun action RPG that has a finished fan-translation patch for it. I only played up to chapter 3 or somesuch since back then they had only just started the translation, but they've finished it now and I've been meaning to go back and play it, found it fun. Also Jump Ultimate Stars is a fun fighting game with a fan-translation patch out.

As for what I'm playing, since I just got a PSP Dissidia and Crisis Core are eating up my time, already put almost 100 hours into the both of them total. So much fun.

I got the story fine and it kept be very interested, so much so that I finished the majority of it in a single night. I've read reviews and the consensus is that the GC and PS version are identical except for a few game play upgrades and overall better graphics.

There much in Disgaea3 to do after the story aside from the usual Item World farming-extravaganza?

Been playing the utter shit out of Disagae1: PSP, and things are getting a bit tiresome after having taken Laharl and my Warrior to lvl700 just for the sake of trying to complete the Alternate Netherworld and Cave of Ordeal and the other little side-quests.
(still getting my ass kicked, so I think it's time to get off my ass and unlock Angel class for some healing support to grind to 700+ rather than relying on two DDs to duo everything)
