Wolves are your best bet, there's a couple of good spots (generally in the area of where that icon appears either on the zoomed-out in game map, or on the map that came in the game box). Just kill the 3-4 wolves, and if they respawn in the same area they should come to you, usually get like 3-4 respawns before it kinda dries up. I think there's a spot northwest of Armadillo that has cougars as well as wolves, and a spot somewhere between Tumbleweed/Rathskellar with Wolves and Coyotes.

You can even just ride around on your horse, scaring animals and chasing them down. That's pretty much what I did, if I heard wolves I'd stop and kill them too and hope for respawns. It's also pretty easy to help out those people being chased, since that's a guaranteed 2 cougar/2 bear kill most of the time. Sometimes if you scare up a bunch of birds you can deadeye and kill off 7 or 8, then pluck all their feathers.

Just kill everything, skin everything, and sell it. You can look up what sells for more in Mexico/New Elizabeth/West Austin but for the most part the only thing you'll want to hold on to is Buffalo (to sell in Mexico) and/or Bears if you're strapped for cash at that point in the game.

There anything particular I should hold onto for unlockables (outfits perhaps), or is there only purpose is to be sold? I've got a backlog of random crap just from working on the challenges already as I'm a bit OCD when it comes to skinning everything I shoot.

Also, note to self: Letting a train run into your horse will kill it, and possibly yourself with it.
(good thing I got the horse-related trophy already out of the way)

You'll need 3 Wild Feverfew, 3 Desert Sage, and 3 Red Sage for the Flowers for a Lady quest (near Thieves Landing). Daedalus and Son requires 20 feathers (of any kind, and doesn't all have to be the same type), 5 Beaver Pelts, and 10 Red Sage.

All the other quests/challenges won't count what you've already collected, so you can sell everything else.

oh and it's definitely worth your time to max out the challenges in single player.

Maxing out Treasure Hunter doubles the amount of consumables you can carry (but there's a glitch that resets them down to 5 every time you turn the game off). Maxing out Hunting and Survivalist give you the chance to get Vittles (restores all health) and Tonic (restores Deadeye), respectively, when skinning an animal or picking a plant (you also get the normal items too). I think maxing Sharpshooting increases your Deadeye recharge? I forget

Endoscopy wasn't too bad, the only things I didn't like were burning things shut since timing could be annoying at some angles or if you stop burning a hair second too soon. And the wind tunnels or whatever you want to call them. Those got annoying as well.

Other than that I might give Metal Slug Anthology and New Super Mario. Bros Wii a shot.

All the outfit scraps are either sold in stores or found in crates. None of the hunting shit affects them.

Atreides laid out everything you should need for quests.

As far as money goes, I got a ton of it taking advantage of the increased Liars Dice ante during the mission for the stranger at Armadillo's movie house.

I don't remember ever having any real money issues though. Hunting adds up fast.

    Finally got my LittleBigPlanet platinum.

Took 34 days after being added to a trophy-boosting list to receive the hearts needed for the Create trophy. ;/

Lookin' forward to LBP2 where I'll actually put some bloody effort into making a proper level, as I got a lot of ideas for the sackbots, assuming you're able to give them orders and what not.

Now time for some sleep, then back to skinning every animal in site in RDR. Had my first cougar encounter after seeing a random stranger being chased by two of them. I now understand everyone's hatred for them, dear god....two hits and you're fucked.

One of the hunting challenges has you kill 2 cougars with your knife.

Another has you kill a bear with it.

That shit was fun but such a pain in the ass. I couldn't find a cougar for 2 days after starting that challenge. In the hour after I finally beat it, I got mauled by 3 of them.

Also in regards to bears, if you kill one then wait a bit to skin it. Bears have a nasty habit of spawning 2 or 3 more when you kill one.

I found the easiest way to get those knife achievements was to stay close to them. Cougars and bears need to sort of "wind up" to attack you, and won't start charging if you're too close. If you stay right on their asses you should be able to get in a swing here and there, without ever getting hit.

Yeah I didn't have a rough time killing them. Cougars are easy to avoid when you see them coming. Finding one when I needed to was a pain though.

    lol

Currently playing through both of the DS Advance Wars games and trying out a game called "Saga 2" I found in a translation thread the other day @romulation. Seems pretty neat so far and character design is nice.

Got Madden 11 today, first football game I've played since probably Madden 05? I feel so lost, so very lost. I hate football. But oh well, my stepbrother only comes around a few times a year due to the Navy and he's big into football and I have a few friends who prefer football over hockey, so I decided what the hell. Trophies seem easy for it at least!

You're much better off with this game than the previous ones.

They really streamlined everything for this version. If you have Gameplan turned on the AI even gives you the plays to run.

I was ready to skip the new Madden but they made a lot of tweaks to it that improved it this year.

With that said, I still need to get the online trophies for last year's game. lol
