I've yet to touch class worlds, but waiting until I get some OP gear first with +DMG & +Mana, as I'll be needing to reincarnate some of my top characters a couple times to add in all the boosts I want, and I'd rather not start grinding from the earlier zones to get them back to where they were.
Just sucks how they patched all the nice stuff in Disgaea 3. Thank god I got the most out of it before they did. It made going 1-9999 in under a min much quicker. I have no clue how long it takes to get everything needed for that with all patches now.
4th or 5th Tier Thief with best store bought Fist Weapon and upgraded Big Bang should have no problem clearing HoO till you get to the stage with best grinding map. Grind that up to about 1500-2000, then I'd start all Item World stuff, but make Masked Hero Item World runners first. They're better than the Moths. 1500 should have no problem killing a 500, though, especialy with Big Bang if you kept upgrading it everytime you got the chance. I could even take out some Pirates at 1700 with my Thief and this was when I was just starting out. I focused more on SPD for evasion rate and damage for Fists at that point as well.
Most I know for 1->9999 in under a min requires I believe 8 sets of 100 staticians on your weapon/gear, and having the character learn Big Bang. Granted I've still yet to find a list as to wtf to focus on for weapon inhabitants to migrate to whatever is best.
Isn't HoO4 (the 3x3 grid of +100% XP mobs) the best grinding spot in the game?4th or 5th Tier Thief with best store bought Fist Weapon and upgraded Big Bang should have no problem clearing HoO till you get to the stage with best grinding map.
I never thought of using a Thief, but I guess they're a necessity to looting some of the unique weapons. Guess I'll create one and make him an Honor Student to leech XP from my lvl1.5k monk-guy until the next tier unlocks, then rinse/repeat.
Do you recall the unlock requirements for them? I've been sticking with two moths because they're already accessible. Work great too, just no Big Bang for an emergency gate keeper kill, I usually end up towering characters up and throwing them over to gate keeper to clear instead.Grind that up to about 1500-2000, then I'd start all Item World stuff, but make Masked Hero Item World runners first. They're better than the Moths.
There's no penalty to not clearing a floor right? I only ever kill the inhabitants so I can exchange them, along with noted boss caracters such as Item Generals.
Yeah, I go full out on SPD points when creating/reincarnating, fun watching shit miss you with something that would otherwise one-shot the character. I tend to not upgrade Big Bang though, as it raises the SP cost through the fucking roof for only +20-30% dmg increase, which wouldn't work in an endurance run to clear a legendary item from floor 1.1500 should have no problem killing a 500, though, especialy with Big Bang if you kept upgrading it everytime you got the chance. I could even take out some Pirates at 1700 with my Thief and this was when I was just starting out. I focused more on SPD for evasion rate and damage for Fists at that point as well.
With maxed staticians on each piece of gear, you get up to a total of 1600% exp bonus, IIRC. HoO4 is best when starting out, but once you get all uber shit, it's best to do LoC HoO4 for much faster leveling. I don't remember what's needed to unlock Masked Hero sadly. Also, when grinding HoO4, you're gonna have to upgrade Big Bang if you want to level faster, this way you can keep raising stronger enemy bill to level much faster. When going through Item World, you'll hardly use Big Bang, at least I didn't early on. With upgraded accelarators on Item World Runners, and Triple Fight users, you won't be having to kill much.
Thief are good to start out with due to their natural high SPD stat and Steal of course. At 1800 I was sitting at 40k+ SPD already, had all Shoes equipped on my Thief as well. Only thing is, I can't remember if it's best to make 4th tier Thief or 5th Tier Thief before grinding her up for Item World. Grinding HoO4 will give shitload of HL to last you a bit as your preparing for Item World.
There anything not on this GameFaqs guide you'd recommend me keeping an eye out for?: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/94213...stice/45486922
I'm not sure if I'm going to bother with the reincarnation bit for Mao as that's just an enormous time sink. Also, got any item residents to recommend that I should farm to put on my future-OP items?
Game has so much fucking stuff in it, hard to find an end-all-be-all guide for it. I've yet to even explore the bloody Class world nor find pirates yet in the item world. I mean, I don't see why they make it such a bitch to get access to the x-dimension stages, let alone Land of Carnage, which I'm assuming is the Dark World (from Disgaea 2) equivalent?
A real man's game showed up on steam today
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale
time to be a loli owning a shop
so it's an RPG dungeon crawler, with buying/selling? That's actually pretty sweet, kinda reminds me of Rune Factory. I may have to get it at some point...
I'll be getting the trophies eventually, but at this point in time I want to focus on getting things set up to acquire the better gear. I want to clear all the stages in the game eventually, and apparently the final boss in his LoC version requires stupidly OP gear to stand a chance.
Granted I'll probably cheese all the pirate trophies by reloading the game on a lvl60 item until I get them all done, then continue play from there on farming them normally for the x-dimension tickets. The rest of the shit is situational, a couple of which I wouldn't mind easy means of getting a lvl1 character to 2000+ in under 5min.
Its actually a really good game to my surprise.
The guys that translated this made a thread at somethingawful

I may buy it when it comes out next week.
So I finally sold my PS2 Rock Band set and now I'm trying to figure out what I want to pick up that's cheap (If I had a job I wouldn't hesitate to buy Metroid: Other M) right now I have been thinking of buying FFIX since my old PSX disc is pretty beat up and then grab Mega Man 10 as well.
I would buy something on Steam, but noting in the 10-20 dollar category caught my eye.
so i have been playing fallout a lot lately, and i keep seeing videos online of people with like 5k+ caps. how the fuck! i cant get over 1500 before spending it all...
are you just not picking anything up? With fallout 3, money will never be a problem as long as you loot everything you come across, and only leave behind things that cost less than they weigh. In my fallout house I have pretty much every container overflowing with shit, almost unlimited amounts of ammo, and too many caps to spend.
Well im playing the DS one cause i loved it on the PS1. Im getting my ass handed to me, I dont remember this game being anywhere NEAR this hard. im still on chapter 2 and well i just keep whomped on, and Normally money is no problem in disgaea but im getting swarmed with fees from the hospital.
Im training on 1-1 atm with the 50% xp boost. seems decent for bringing new chars from 1-5
Just be sure to give Larahl a sword. You get that OP 3x3 attack eventually as you level the characters' proficiency with it.
As for me, I'm hitting a grinding slump in Disgaea 3. Level 1500 onwards seems to give diminishing results on stats, so I'm probably going to work on item world on equipment that 'seems' strong to me to keep ahead of the mob curve, since I get absolutely assraped by anything of a similar level. Just wish I could get the damn class world to reappear though, I got some item duping to do for easy residents.....
Hope Laharl is as OP in Disgaea 3 as he was the first. Trying to unlock him, Etna, and Flonne, but I just got the crap kicked out of me by Axel (from Disgaea 2), and his stage is a prereq. -.-
If you're playing on the DS, do yourself a favour and lose the first time you fight Sub-Boss. Get the bad end and start a New Game+ and you can recruit Pleinair. She's all kinds of ridiculously awesome.
Yea i get that. I accidently won that fight, and saved, Now im working towards my second fight with midboss but im having trouble with episode 2.
From what ive read plenair is a beast with a gun. My laharl is level 9 atm and i dont have any one else over 7 atm
I have a question about replaying through, Does the prize list at the hospital restart as well? That'd be kinda sick to have the dark rosary twice this early in the game, Also does the prinny commentary start if you wipe to midboss as well?
All this Disgaea talk is really making me wanna play a Disgaea game, but I fucking played the hell out of them all, so not much to do. I still fucking hate some of the stages in Dark World in D2DHD.
Oh, and Kaisha, the guide on PS3Trophies.org gets you on track for all endgame stuff, you don't have to actually get the Trophies, but the Leveling Guide and etc seems pretty decent and up to date with all current patches I think, and it gets you on track for when exactly to farm tickets and etc as soon as you can. The GameFaqs Guide was made when all good glitches and dupes wasn't patched, IIRC. I'd check it out and see what you think of it before following GFaq Guide.
Plenair, Plenair, Plenair, I fucking loves me some Plenair. She's always been pretty damn good to me everytime she was playable. I still need to finish grinding her out in D2:DHD, but I love Gig and that other guy from Brave Story too much.
Levelling guide on PS3T expects me to grind for 4 hours straight to go from lvl 1000 to 4000 in HoO4 without using any faster means of levelling up, fuck that. Going to try and see if I can kill some pirates and get my own boat so I can reverse pirate some statiscians, then dupe them via Character World to get +500% or more XP per kill.
Going to try and get the afro prinny to show up again so I can teach Mao Big Bang though so he can join in on the XP other than leeching 10% off my main DD.
