still playing Shiren for SNES. picked up the Torneko's Mysterious Dungeon game for SNES as well. really loving the Mysterious Dungeon series, though I'm going to skip the Pokemon games (they sound too easy) and probably the Druaga game as well (got some pretty awful reviews).

also fiddling with ePSXe, got Tales of Phantasia PSX working smoothly but FFIX chugs as soon as it hits the first battle. need to rip that to an iso and determine if it's the disc drive (it's pretty noisy) or if the emulator is struggling to process the info. I'm going to be pretty depressed if it's the latter, but I doubt it considering my laptop is brand new and has pretty decent specs.

luckily, ToP PSX will keep me occupied for a long time. it's not even close to the best game in the series but it's fun, and I like the translation a lot more than the cheesy DeJap version.

Yeah, playing off the disc with PSX emulators sucks from my experience. It doesn't constantly spin the disc so every time you go to do an attack it'll start spinning to load the animation if it's a spell/summon/whatever. Makes battles retarded in lots of games.

Or you might wanna try an older release of the ePSXe. I remember when I used to play IX I had to do something in order to get it working right. Try that or check the special game fix list. I think there's something in there for IX.

beat Dead Rising 72 hour mode, unlocked overtime mode. I *really* can't see myself going for all 1000 achievements on this, especially some of the tedious ones like saving 50 survivors and whatnot. I think I'll just unlock infinity mode and try to get to level 50, and go for the unlockable weapons like the Real Mega Blaster and Laser Sword... are those 2 very difficult?

Also there's a demo for Quantum Theory on PSN, anyone play it? After meh'ing at the Vanquish demo I'm hoping this'll be good

Quantum Theory is Japan's version of Gears of War. I hate saying x game looks like y but this really feels like a direct copy of gears. The main character is all on roids with cuts on him, and the weapons feel a little weird too. The combo mechanice with the girl(throw her at tough enemies for 1hit kills) is pretty good but everything else is eh.

At least the shotgun doesn't feel OP as in gears.

Megabuster is easy but boring. But you can get it easily whilst you grind to 50. Laser Sword is fucking dumb and you should not waste your time. In fact, just forgot 5/7 Day Survivor even exist because they are retarded.

Grab Horror Novel 1 (Sinister Read book shop in Entrance Plaza) and Horror Novel 2 (Bachman's Bookporium in Paradise Plaza). These give you extra PP for defeating zombies. Then you just have to head to the Maintenance Tunnels and find a nice route(loop) where you go from vehicle to vehicle running down zombies along the way. Generally takes 2~4 hours, depending on your route and how often (if at all) you stop to save your game, to get Zombie Genocider (53,594 zombie kills). Once you have that you need to get any ending of the game to unlock the Megabuster. Unless you made slip ups or stopped to save a ton you should have quite a lot of time left before the helicopter is due to arrive (since you don't have time to do the missions during this, this is basically your only option for an "ending"). Chances are you'll hit 50 (or at least get close to it) from killing all the zombies, so you can either find random ways to get PP or work on some other achievement before it arrives if you have the time. Once you get the ending the Megabuster will spawn in the safe room in any future playthroughs.

I would recommend Genocider > Save > Karate Champ > Save > then Clothes Horse or Gourmet if you have the time.

5/7 Day Survivor is hated by some, loved by others. My only real issue with the mode is that you can't save mid-run. I like the idea of needing food to survive though. It's a long haul though. 7 Day Survivor takes 14 hours of playtime and a lot of it is just waiting in safe spots for your health to drop.

Honestly besides the megabuster and unlocking the other game modes I don't really see much reason to keep playing and not just go right to Case Zero lol

also if Im going for the genocider achievement in the tunnels, are those open from teh start of the game? Or do I need to do some missions first to unlock it?

also, just played the Quantum Theory demo, and even though the trailers for this game make it look awesome, something about it feels unpolished to me. The story seems pretty interesting though

edit: yeah this demo is actually pretty bad. Gameplay is terrible, cover system feels drunk, only redeeming thing is that you can throw the girl with you to distract enemies. Of course even if you throw her at the enemies you're supposed to she takes damage and your character makes a comment about needing to save her, and she is usually either taking damage or slumped over that she feels more like a nuisance than a help. There's also combos you can do with her like Prince of Persia and they look pretty flashy (I suspect that's why the trailers show them) but you take way too much damage to ever melee and with no lockon system you'll probably just whiff anyway. I would like to know what happens in the story but I guess I'll just read that on wikipedia or gamefaqs.

and that Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes demo seems alright, it's coming out for Wii and PS3 only though. Weird thing is that in a few weeks Samurai Warriors 3 is coming out too, but that's only for Wii.

just plat'ed fallout 3 last night and i really liked the entire game, even though i dont have the DLC i want to buy it one day, and i hope they TRY to fix some of the glitches in new vegas, some of the ones i found were fuckin awesome to retarded and aggravating as hell, but i am kinda glad i didnt get the GOTY cause i froze maybe twice the entire time so that was nice.

still working on RDR plat, i only need to get lvl 50 and i will be done with that shit! im really glad i gamefly'd it though, was cheaper to pay for 2 months of gamefly then to get the game. gamefly ftw!!

Can't be done on infinity since you have to get an ending to trigger the unlocks and you don't have time in overtime. Just start up a new 72 hour game and go straight to business. Maintenance Tunnels are open from the start (if you go through the car park/leisure park at least), but you need the key to open up the doors around the mall. You wanna grab this from the room in the middle of the maint tunnels (no requirements to spawn it, just head in there whenever), since it's easier to get out and save by using one of the doors rather than having to go past the convicts. Then just get down to business. Probably wanna take a few healing items incase you slip up. Chances are you'll be fine even if you do lose your vehicle but better to carry a few and be safe just in case.

there was a sale a while back at gamestop, a 1 hour lunchtime sale that a lot of people missed out on because of a system crash... actually I think gamestop cancelled the Power Hour altogether after that fiasco lol

Anyway you'll probably be able to find it for 30-40 around the holidays, usually around xmas time you can find some incredible deals on games in general

Almost done with Mafia 2. Some of the fights on hard are a bitch. Finally made good progress on the closing fight of the second to last chapter.. and my PS3 crashed/reset. >< Doing a backup now just in case but I hope this shit was just a random anomaly.

finally, 53k zombies. Also got karate champ and almost all the PP stickers (you need to get abducted by the cult for the last 2, meh). I'm still missing 400 or so achievements, mostly the big/hard ones like escorting 8 survivors at once/saving 50 and the clothes/food ones, but I'm not sure if I want to keep playing or just move on to Case Zero.

I still have about half of Bayonetta left too, and Birth By Sleep should be here by monday/tuesday so I'm not sure if I want to start up Case Zero and end up regretting not waiting for it, but the lure of zombies is at times too much to bear.
