heh... I was actually thinking about picking up GOTY Borderlands, but for some odd reason I went with Sigma 2 instead >.> I kinda wish I went with Borderlands now, wasn't aware of how many of my friends still play it.

I don't know anyone that plays it. Unfortunately since playing online may fuck up my quest-related data (according to some posts I read on PS3T), I'm going to stick to offline until I hit platinum.

I'd love to get Sigma2, but it's still selling for $70 in my area for some bloody reason. Was the same case for Sigma1 until it reached Greatest Hits, which I grabbed the first day I saw it in stores.

A friend and I just finished the first playthrough of Borderlands last night, we never had an issue with our data being out of sync or whatever the problem might be. As far as goodies, we were pretty thorough with finding red chests in areas and we never got anything too good, I'd assume the real nice stuff starts being in those red chests during the second playthrough.

No missable stuff in Borderlands, just make sure you get all the Claptraps in every area for upgraded inventory space. Most of your good gear is found at random anyhow, but if you guys wanna hit up Max Moxxi or any of that at some point, lemme know. Been sitting on that DLC for a while now, haven't bothered picking up any of the later ones since the group I used to play with kind of fell apart.

Now is the DLC complementary to the core game, or is it something I should tackle post-endgame?

[EDIT] Ugh, seriously, fuck you Gearbox for not including DLC on the disc. 4 hours downloading currently and I still got 1.5gb to go.

[EDIT2] Of course I accidentally delete the Underdome DLC, oh well, will download it again later on, not like I really need it atm. I have to say, first impressions are pretty good. Went with the Hunter guy since rifles are my weapon of choice, and this game appears to actually give you some breathing space when it comes to shoot-outs in open areas which I like. Was surprised to see how generous the game was with regards to just streaming textures in though, they start off fucking ugly. Is the game running Unreal3 engine or something? At least the textures fade in gracefully rather than pop-in which was fucking horrendous in Bioshock1.

Liking the visual style, looks like something that'd shine on the PC running at 1920x1200 with 4xMSAA, probably more-so with the 3-D display, may have to check that out sometime when I get my own display in the future.

Not sure what the deal with CLAP-TRAP is though. He seems normal enough while being skittish, unless each one I come across has their own personality or something. I just recall reading they were hilarious or something.

On a side note, I *really* need to upgrade my hard drive now. No space free currently (thanks GT5 >.> ), and DLC/mandatory-installs are eating up my HD. It'd be less of a problem if the Game Data folder on PS3 had sub-folders for all the games. As it stands the majority of games combine install/DLC into the same package, so the only option is to either save it all, or delete it all and have to waste bandwidth in the future getting it back in the offchance I want to play it again.

got all achievements but 3 in Nier, great game and plenty of content if you decide to do everything.

Then finished almost all the single player stuff in AC: Brotherhood. Kinda contemplating going for 100% sync on all missions/side missions but that will probably get tedious quickly. Still not sure I want to bother with multiplayer.

Aaaaand now I have nothing to play. Been playing a little Fatal Frame 3 and trying to get the Omega weapons in Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time. Currently sitting here unplayed I have:
    -Fatal Frame 3
    -Valkyria Chronicles
    -Folklore
    -Alpha Protocol
    -Crimson Gem Saga
    -Dead Rising 2
    -Overlord
    -Star Ocean 4

I'll probably end up slogging through Folklore or Overlord now that I have pot. Anyone have any suggestions?

So I'm assuming you got all the endings in Nier. Honestly, on my second playthrough I thought it was awesome how you got a different perspective of things with the minor change they threw in there and the extra cutscenes.

Quit WoW for a bit so I need to dust off my Tales of Symphonia file. Roommate got Tales of Vesperia, looks pretty fun. She says I need to finish Symphonia, Abyss and Legendia first though... @ _@

    Also sitting un-finished is RE4 and Zelda:TP.

yea it was pretty interesting to see things from Kaine's point of view especially. I really thought it was neat how Ending D deletes all your save data, I mean it makes sense considering what happens but it's pretty ballsy of a game to do that lol

Picked up a copy of Front Mission Evolved for the PC. Was looking for a new PC game and didnt even know SE had made a version of this outside of the PS3. Pretty fun so far, quite a different take on the usual series. I have a sad feeling the game will be really short though

It is, but it's still a fun ride. Sadly there's no reason to replay it though and I haven't checked out the multiplayer on it.

Oh, and when I say say "it is" short, I mean I beat it the same day I got it.

Does Borderlands take awhile to get moving? I'm a couple hours in and I'm still in the beginning location. Getting kinda tired of tiered-quests thanks to the backtracking involved, especially when it involves an area transition. Wish I could just nab them all at once and have multiple objective markers out at the same time rather than just the one active quest.

Played some co-op on a fresh character with my sis at any rate, and jesus fuck did the difficulty sure ramp up. Came across a lvl11 character with us both at lvl6 where-as in single-player, the same mob would be half that. Makes things challenging at least, you can't just run & gun, have to dodge/take cover a shitload or byebye shield. My main character I went with Mordecai since I'm a sniper-rifle user at heart, but I decided to roll another save as Brick with my sis just because he's so ridiculously huge.

Was surprised to see next to no sacrifices were made visually for split-screen, was expecting to see a shitty framerate at least. Ran fine for the most part aside from the framerate jerking when shifting through menus due to processing. I only wish there was a way to split the game horizontally rather than vertically as Gearbox didn't bother redoing/scaling the interface for the split-view, so you have to use the right-analog to pan about the menus to see everything. Makes it a bitch to easily compare weapons.

21 hours to Plat Bayonetta, not bad I guess... I spent around 40 hours to get 1000/1000 on X360 version. Now to do all other endgame stuff now! I really don't feel like unlocking Jeanne legit again though, Little Zero I don't mind, I have no problem going thorugh Lost Chapter. Guess I'll move on NGS2 a bit, I know I won't be getting Platinum on this shit, but I don't really care either.

per my usual gaming ADD, have abandoned DKCR, Golden Sun: DD, and Planescape: Torment in order to start a new game. and did I pick from the plethora of unplayed PS3 games, some of which I haven't even touched yet?

no, of course not. I started a new fucking character in Oblivion.

to be fair, it was supposed to be just a diversion for one night, but that's on me for forgetting how addicting this game is. made a custom class with a wood elf, Stealth specialization, and Marksman as a major skill and I'm enjoying the hell out of it, having never played with bows before. think I'll plow through the mage's guild questline, I should be able to unlock the Arcane University tonight and then it's enchanted arrows and custom spells all around.

it's sick how fun this game is. just fucking sick.

    Prinny/Baal Pirates don't fucking exist in Disgaea 3. -.-

Wasted 3 hours so far just trying to get them to show up once.

I also feel I've hit the extent of my patience with Super Meat Boy. All I got left is to unlock glitch world, finish almost all of dark world for Rapture/Cotton Alley (FUCK THOSE LEVELS), and the latter third of Dark World Hell maps. They're just sadistic and beyond my reflexes to time just perfectly to dodge all the shit they throw at you. Going to aim to at least beat the Dark World boss, which I need four more levels completed to unlock. -.-

How do the Baal Pirates compare to LoC Baal in the Extra Story map btw? Also, did you wait two turns before moving up on a floor, or just one? I typically end up waiting just one, and if a pirate appears, wait another, otherwise head up.

Lol, I forgot how to unlock map in LoC to fight Baal there, so I can't tell you. My memory from before on my other file I can't really remember much, but I guess it can all depends on rank/SEBs. And I wait one turn, if no pirates I head up, if Pirates show I wait an additional turn for chance of another set showing, if no show I head up.
