Anyone have anything to say in regards to Deathsmiles? Can't find a single thing on it in the forum and I'm not really sure what to make of it from reviews.

@Kaisha, if you have a rug or any kind of a mat to play on, use a towel underneath the mat/rug and fold the edge over where your tail will be. That way the back end of the mat/rug is higher than the front end. Or do the opposite if you need to. Just dont bunch towels together and put it under your tail or else it'll feel really awkward.
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. Been waiting for this for quite some time. So far it's great. Definitely has originality going for it. Will post impressions as I play a little more.
Do early impression indicate if there's much freedom to the puzzles? The demo gave me the impression that there'll just be the one route, but it was a handheld tutorial so that may have been the reason why. Definitely something I'll be picking up later this month.
Well, I just only got to the 2nd "case" or whatever you want to call it. That first level that is in the demo is still there, but you learn a bit more about the gameplay that's not in the demo. I really can't call it yet on how much freedom there is, but I do know you have to switch between real time and ghost time at certain times to prevent or cause things to happen. It all looks very promising though.
Recently started Final Fantasy: The Four Heroes of Light. I got off to a rocky start but it is ending up not as difficult as I have read. I am loving the different crowns, although some are really useless and some jobs are not what I expected them to be.
Also finished 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors which was amazing imo. The story was done really well even though it started getting predictable. The puzzles were not to bad either. Oh and thank god for the fast forward feature... I would not have made it to the true end without it lol.
npI've been bored with my ds lately also so was just downloading every rpg I could find hoping one would keep me occupied.
Also played Lufia Curse of the Sinistrals which was fun but hit a slow point in the story so have not touched it in a bit but the combat was ok for a bit even if mindless.
Tried playing some Perfect Dark on the N64 today, and all I have to say is, fuck that.
Game hasn't aged well to the point where I can't be bothered trying to beat it. I can stand the visuals and low-resolution, but not the extremely sporadic framerate that dips below 10fps regularly, and input delay. Perhaps I'll finally beat it whenever I get a 360 in the future and nab the port of it.
Did play some Mario 64 though, which aged a little more gracefully as it still handles well even by today's standards, although having played some SM Galaxy 2 lately, I kept shaking the N64 controller from time to time expecting Mario to do the spinny move to nab some extra height. ;/
On the modern gaming side of things, I 100%'d the trophies in Pacman CE DX, which took forever. Excellent game, and going to work on my scores on a regular basis as I aim to S-Rank all of the challenges. I'm not sure how the fuck some people manage 200+ Ghosts in the ghost combo mode though, the most I can ever get to follow me in a line is 40.
[EDIT] Are the GTA4 Episodes running a different version of the game engine or something? Playing some Lost & Damned and it's looking a little sharper than GTA4 which I recall being fucking blurry/aliased on my PS3.
Gladiator Begins
Very repetitive game but man is it addicting. Nothing like beating the shit out of gladiators while looking awesome doing it. The customization of the game is really well done too. A lot of weapons and armor to get after fights and buy before.
I just finished it, and as far as I could tell the puzzles (and the entire game for that matter) were 100% linear, with no alternate solutions to anything. It was still a solid game, but as with the phoenix wright series, it's pretty short and doesn't have much replay value.
Lol I played that recently. Apparently later in you can fight elephants and tigers and shit but I got some alternate ending where I quit being a Gladiator and went and boned some slut that loved me. Tried to redo the fight but I couldn't ever beat it again, shit gets stupid hard lol.
Super Meat Boy, it's pretty good. And funny too. Seems like there's a ton of shit to do, which is awesome.
If PCSX2 will stop being such a bitch I'll be playing me some Tales of Legendia soon. If not, I'll just have to grab my PS2 back from my sister next time I visit her then play.
You guys talking about that Colosseum game that came out on PS2 that was renamed and ported to PSP?
Gladiator Begins, yes.
Is it ANY different than the PS2 version? I didn't really get into that game.
I never played the ps2 version.
Saw Left 4 Dead for $10 and since I had never played it I figured why not. Played through No Mercy with a crapton of friendly fire (oops) but I got to the helicopter at the end with a swarm of infected on our butts. Bill (me), Francis, and Louis got on the helicopter no problem... but a tank tackled the lady to the ground. Since the helicopter wouldn't take off since she was "save-able", myself and Louis died while she did. The only survivor of the campaign was Francis... who had the least amount of kills throughout the whole campaign.
Overall though it was fun even though it did leave me kind of motion-sicky.
Still working on New Vegas and I think I am getting close to the end. This game is a lot more fun now that some of the glitches are gone but I still do get the random freeze... I just make sure I save often and in 2 spots. Also, picked up the Anti-material sniper rifle from Gun Runners and holy shit is that thing fun. It is kinda/really overpowered though so I'm only using it for my "screw around and then reload a save" runs.
Attempting to play Earthbound but so far the game isn't really growing on me. I'm not far in (just beat Frank, lol.) so maybe I just need to give it time.
Giving Dragon Age: Origins an attempt with my main character as a healer. I might restart though and just keep the game on easy until I get Wynne.
Finally beat Yoshi's Island for the GBA as well. My niece gave me the game because it was too hard for her and I had been stuck on the final boss. Ironically enough I didn't die once throughout the level when I finally won.
And since I can't seem to focus on just one game at a time! Also playing Dragon Quest IX. So far my only complaint is the job system... which seems kinda lacking. Since spells don't stay when you switch my Cleric and Mage will never class change unless I make one a Sage and since my Hero's only real job in boss fights is to rez and egg on the Warrior he's kinda stuck too. I might be able to change the Warrior into a Paladin or something at least.![]()
