Finished Cecillia's Story in Hexyz Force. Must say that I enjoyed it quite abit. I started Levant's story but got sidetracked by some other games.

Played through 999 twice and currently going through it again. My only issue with replaying it is doing those puzzles over again. Other than that I am definitely enjoying it and finding out more clues to what's going on as I go.

Also finished up Dead Space 2 twice and still thinking on whether I should attempt Hardcore mode or not. Either way, it is a badass game.

Now starting on Yakuza 3 while waiting for MvC3's release.

Just finished Tales of Symphonia. Sad that I missed out on such a gem for so long, amazing game! Not sure if I want to go back and try again on hard/mania, or do side stuff like costumes, colosseum, devil arms, etc.. OR start an Abyss/Vesperia file.. I figure I have time to finish the stories of both before Graces F comes out...

Just here to rant about how horrible PS3's backup utility is. Trying to get everything loaded onto my new 500gb drive.

First time I back up, it takes two hours, and then takes another two hours to restore it, then complains about it being corrupted 10min from the finish.

I figure to save time for the second backup I'd delete some shit, so I did. 15gb of stuff deleted-later, I go to back it up again on my external drive. 90 minutes later, it complains that I need 35gb more space free'd up, and I'm sitting here thinking 'wtf?' since there's less stuff to backup than the last attempt (which I deleted) which had no problem with the amount of space free on my external.

God, too tired for another attempt tonight. Shit just takes way too fucking long. Guess I need more than 80gb of HD space free to back up <40gb of space, compared to before when it had no problem with it backing up 45gb of crap.

Given how it pre-processes everything I would assume it would have a damn good estimate as to how much HD space it needs before it even starts processing/encrypting it all. Also on that note, why isn't there any hash checks in the process so it knows it's all valid data and not corrupted data? Backing-up need to be a reliable process, jesus christ.......

I saw you were doing it last night. Best I could do was:
1) Save game data onto USB.
2) Delete non-cop protected Saves.
3) Delete non-copy protected game data.
4) Backup only copy protected data (About 15Gb worth.)
Still took me all day and it took 2 tries but that worked for me <.<

My second backup worked thankfully (from what I can tell), which included all of the shit I didn't delete.

Granted, I'm currently stuck waiting on Sony's slow-ass server to sync my trophy data so I have my list of games again. It's taking so long that their server timed out three times already. It's about what, 5mb of trophy data per game? And I got about 120 games on my trophy list. ;/


But yeah, that backup utility really needs to give the user more information and also double-check that the shit isn't corrupted while it's doing it. It shouldn't take 2 bloody hours to archive 37gb of data.

[EDIT] Finally, trophy list is back in order.

Well, after all is said and done with the backup (and the PS3 reserving a good 10% of the 465gb to itself), I'm left with 375gb of free space. Massive improvement over just 10gb which I was juggling between game installs.


And uh....friends list just started freaking out along with being unable to sign out of PSN. Hope this is just a one-off glitch and not a problem with my new HD.

to answer your bolded question: not in the least, new vegas is completely separate, aside from a few very minor shout-outs.

also, I am a sucker for FF... after all my bitching, I am still playing 4 heroes. at least I found a way to make nearly infinite money in a short amount of time. that kind of makes up for the bullshit targeting crap.

Can't agree with that, but I'm sure some of it is bias against FO3 due to it crashing eleventy billion times and me never finishing it due to that. NV had its issues but at least I was able to make it through the damn game without total frustration

Glad I'm not the only one who has their NV crash just about every day. Even reinstalled my data too.

Compared to 3 though, 3 starts off 5x better than New Vegas. But in the end, I feel there's more events in the NV world to discover than 3 (which should be the case in any successor).

In other news, still playing the hell of out MAG. My clan just LOVES to do the same map over and over again. We did Raven Sabotage 4 times in a row. I MVP'd it twice. Would love to do some Interdiction instead though, its so much fun omg.

I can ignore the presentation values, but for the love of god the laser-match minigame pisses me off. Difficulty gets too hard too fast on it. What's really annoying is that the order of placement for the splitters affects which ends spit out which mixed-colours.

Man, NV crashed on me a total of 19 times before I reached the end. I'd take fallout 3 any day over it for that reason alone.

I'm on a subpar clan on Valor. about 50% of the way to level 70 and probably vetting to Raven. They aren't all bad, just some of them are. But I need to vet for my last trophy(then I might go back to Valor and stay there.)

Red Dead Redemption...

I shouldn't be surprised that this game was super overrated. Lame GTA-like mechanics(god these games are terrible third person shooters) aside, the storyline is poorly paced. Just like GTA, you might start to dread the appearance of letters on your map which involve characters which do nothing for the story. Really cool ending though. Probably my biggest disappointment was how everyone hyped up the moment "when you first enter Mexico" but it was nothing special(it didn't even have a cool context). At least the ending lived up to the hype. Best thing about this game has to be riding horses is fun and the scenery is incredible and awesomely varied(though the storyline shows only desert until the final arc, would have been better if Mexico was last). Beats the fuck out of looking at postcards or the old marlboro ads. The random events were a decent bonus added to the free-roaming. I'd give it a low 3/6 at most. Game of the year!!!

Game could have used more train robberies. (Another note: Hilariously the nudity is "wasted" on a fat girl. I know Rockstar does this on purpose.)

EDIT: Out of the two overrated, story-driven, presentation-focused titles which snapped up everyone's game of the year awards, Mass Effect 2 is a much better game. Both in storyline(which was nothing more than excuse to show cool characters, like a heist movie) and shooting. So Mass Effect 2 is comparatively less overrated(AND you get to deflower an alien).

EDIT: Cowboy > Space Marine though. RDR was worth playing because of that.

Just got Naruto Shppuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 Platinum, after spending fucking ages getting the rest of the titles for title trophy... everything else was cake except that. I don't play Naruto games, but I had alot of fun with this one, so will most likely be getting NUNS3 whenever it releases. Will probably hold onto NUNS2 a bit longer to do matches with some friends online.

Will probably move on to Strikeforce or Trinity Universe next, maybe Borderlands, hmm. Kinda wanna put Borderlands on hold bit longer, but been itching to play it finally, along with friends bugging me to as well...

Started AC Brotherhood and my PS3 crapped out. Got a new PS3 and now the rear fan makes a weird buzzing noise, so I have to exchange it. Am I just not supposed to play AC?
