Just started Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World and Two Worlds 2(pc) today. Going to ignore sp mostly in TW2 and focus on multiplayer only for a while.
Dawn of the New World is ok...just emil is a little bitch in the first 30mins.

Doubt I'll try DoTNW, was happy with the way Symphonia ended. Started a Vesperia file. Pretty fun so far, though Estelle's getting on my nerves..
let's see... finished Dead Space 2 and platinum'd it, game was awesome. I've been contemplating running through Extraction before the DLC comes out but I don't have a Move and after playing it twice on Wii I'm not sure I have the patience for the analog stick.
Also playing Torchlight, which is pretty good but fuck this game gets boring. I like some of the stuff it has over diablo but I am really glad the story dungeon is only 35 levels because I can't imagine putting in more than 20 hours into this thing.
Next up is probably another PC RPG. Might finally bite on Two Worlds 2 if I can get a pirated copy working, otherwise it'll probably be Arcania
Finally playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. I'm enjoying the changes in it quite a bit. I think the combat changes are really good. I thought it was gonna be a half assed game as it only came out what like, a year? After II. It's a full fledged sequel. The only thing I dislike is the screen tearing on the PS3. So many games have screen tearing
Being unemployed, I should be able to finish games in a matter of a day or two, but I get bored. I don't really go out, cause unemployment isn't that much and I still have bills. Oh well. Gamefly + Jailbroken PS3 should keep me busy.
Finished off GTA4: The Lost and Damned the other night. Was alright, although not as good as I was expecting with the way some people were toting it. Still disappointed that a $20 expansion (initially) only came with 5 bronze trophies. Next up is Ballad o' Gay Tony and then I'm done with GTA4 as a whole.
Also grinding the Dead Space series on the side. 5*'ing some of the levels in Extraction can be a bitch on the hard difficulty.
For today, I'll be blowing some of it off playing the new You Don't Know Jack. Been too many years ever since I played a proper retail release of the series, and it looks to hold up well still.
So I completed AC:Brohood today. Well beat it anyway. I can't be bothered to platinum the game. The game was fun as hell, but the ending was just WTF as per usual. Need another one nao.
Does Brotherhood actually make any progress on the Desmond story at all? AC2 hardly did jack shit for him outside of the intro and a particular segment near the end, and it kinda bothered me that 90% of the focus of the game was on Ezio.
Not to say that I didn't enjoy the gameplay, but things seem to move at a snails pace in the 'present' of the AC story.
Yeah, quite a bit actually. Mostly towards the end. The biggest thing though, is throughout the game you can leave the animus any time you want. You can chat with your teammates (every chatper or so they'll have new banter) and check e-mails for extra stuff. You can also explore outside to find some extra items, but getting all 5, I honestly don't know what the point was.
Until they conclude it or at least continue it in the next game, it leaves way too much to our own interpretation. I know it's gonna have a sequel, but who knows how many years away? It's like what God of War 2 did at the end. Kind of annoying. I understand it from a storytelling and marketing/company decision, but shit.
Aside from that, the combat is quite a bit better, and there is a shit ton of extra stuff to do once you're pretty late in the game. 3 different guilds to do missions for, managing your own assassin's, finding flags, feathers, and the typical AC stuff. Definitely worth at least a playthrough.
I really liked the upgrading/economy in Brotherhood a lot more than AC2, if for no other reason that it took a lot longer to fully upgrade everything. I'm really excited to see how they incorporate and improve the economy system in AC3.
I'm still surprised at how much I enjoyed AC2 even though AC1 just turned me off completely. Granted I got the PC version with the extra shit to break the monotony some, I still never beaten it. Probably won't until I get a more powerful PC down the road (or perhaps get the PS3 copy for $5-10) as it was a very demanding game.
Knowing Ubisoft, Brotherhood will likely hit the $29 point in a couple more months, so I'll likely pick it up then. Just hope the online community is still alive by that point as I'd like to check out its multiplayer component, possibly aim to platinum it.
FFXI again, but bought the Ultimate collection thing for 5$ this week on Gamestop digi download.![]()
Nope, just the 3 mini mission add-ons.
Meh, I might buy it anyway. My second account doesn't have any of the mini-expansion type deals
$5 for a nearly up-to-date key isn't bad at all for an MMO. I'm still waiting for a 3-pack on the Abyssea add-ons, then back to XI I go for a couple months to see how things are.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. This game was pretty damn good. Surprising for a western game(and given all the crap I hear about it being a low-grade God of War clone). About a 2-3 hours into the game the combat system gets pretty interesting, and it is a long-ass game(with some hard bits too). It is about as beautiful as GoW. Too bad this game isn't on the PC. The only bit of art design that bothered me was the main character's stupid neck. Anyway cool bosses too(a decent amount, but for some reason I wanted more towards the end. Especially wanted a more elaborate(if typical) final boss fight. Titan fights could have been "faster" though. I might go back to it one day and clear Paladin(if it is more than "more HP lol!") or something and do that DLC they are releasing. 5/6(on the little low end). EDIT: Maybe a 4/6 simply because towards the end they go from tougher minions(living armor and vampires) to silly weak ones(things that die in a few hits). Also I suppose there is the "grinding" aspect that messes with difficulty, but I didn't notice it and I didn't collect everything.
EDIT: The "music box" stage made me smile. Pure awesome.
EDIT: Speaking of music, it is really good, but not in the same style of the old Castlevania tunes.
EDIT: Minor battle specifics spoilers, (no names)
Spoiler: show
The difficulty of getting a full combo bar(thus limiting your ability to heal yourself via light magic) is one of the great things about the game. If they messed that up, that game would be total trash. Actually how you heal yourself is cool altogether.
